This restaurant was amazing! While waiting for lunch, they brought homemade sesame rolls that were so light, almost like a croissant but not flaky, with their own tupelo honey butter. The shrimp and grits were the best I've had, light and cheesy in a curry broth with green onions and peppers. So delicious! We also shared the sausage melt and that was so incredibly good! Mild sausage and white cheddar on a hoagie roll. Our server was very helpful. I would definitely go back and highly recommend Husk.
Every bit of the food and service was Exceptional from start to finish. Started off with a drink called a "Shrub" which was surprisingly refreshing. All the ingredients were incredibly fresh because the menu changes daily just depends on what they can get fresh the morning the restaurant opens. I highly recommend the shrimp with the Carolina gold rice. A classic. If you're visiting Charleston on a weekend in the future make sure you make reservations weeks in advance. Husk is Charleston's Premiere restaurant experience.
The hype is real.
This place is not pretentious, and will serve a fantastic meal humbly to you.
The appetizers for us were the showstoppers. We had the pimento cheese, the Nashville hot shrimp, and the lamb dumplings- personally the shrimp and pimento cheese were outstanding.
For main we shared the catfish and the duck. Catfish was not fancy but was impeccably cooked with perfectly seasoned collards and grits. The duck was maybe the lowest point of the meal- but still was very good.
Brunch was a success! We had reservations so we were immediately seated.
Staff was quick and efficient and we had our “Firsts” in a timely manner, followed by our Brunch entrees.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was conducive to the location.
I will definitely be back!
One of our goals for this visit to Charleston was to experience a high end take on low country cuisine. We became familiar with Husk back when Sean Brock was involved in the menu. He's no longer there, but the menu is fantastic. The service was well informed and very nice. The food was as good as we could have hoped. The hot shrimp appetizer was as delicious as it was spicy. (Not for the faint of heart) The mains were full of flavor and the presentation was immaculate.

Impeccable vibes. Food has got to be the most amazing meal I have ever had. For first course we ordered the lamb dumplings, Ceasar salad with shredded beef, and wood fired oysters. For entree, we spilt the rabbit roulade, almaco jack, and pork chop. This meal was so good that I remember saying if we don't have dessert here there's no way I would get dessert somewhere else and sully this absolute feeling of enjoyment of such good food. Luckily they do have an excellent dessert menu. Dessert, we had the sweet potato bread pudding (my absolute favorite and 10000% recommend), the chocolate cake, the tart, and all of their seasonal scoops of ice cream.
My goodness....I cannot stress enough how amazing this meal was. The ingredients are fresh and are used to make unique and flavorful combinations. The chefs did an exquisite job 👏 Even though I ate so much...idk how to explain it correctly but I felt *nourished* ...not that typical feeling of gross gluttony if you know what I mean.
We really enjoyed husk, the menu delivered on upscale southern charm and the food was unique. We tried a few different things based on our servers recommendations and were not disappointed. The rabbit roulade was one of the best things I have ever eaten and the beef tongue was also worth trying. We definitely will return on our next trip to Charleston.
Husk was number one on our gastronomic adventure in Charleston so we were greatly anticipating a memorable experience. We were in short, disappointed. The menu was very limited, offering perhaps 7 entrees, 2 of which were swordfish, 2 inferior cuts of beef and several other items that felt somewhat uninspired. Our appetizers were fairly forgettable but our main course was not forgettable for the wrong reasons. The “GA beef” was tough and room temp., lacking marble and hence, flavor. The sides were cold and lackluster. My Delicato squash came out of the kitchen without the promised goat cheese causing a pronounced imbalance in flavor. The waitstaff was pleasant and the manager apologized, gave us a more tender cut of beef, and sent out hot sides. The wine and bourbon offerings, on the other hand, were outstanding! Our takeaway? This hyped up establishment is quite overpriced and lacks diverse options for diners. Additionally, novelty ingredients appear to substitute for true quality ingredients which don’t justify the price points here. Save yourself a trip to the restaurant and duck into the bar instead for something special.
Beautiful location, delicious appetizers! We had the shrimp toast (I could have done 2 more of those for my entree it was that good), the tomato pie, and the cornbread. Service was great but dinner took a while to come after appetizers were cleared. we all had the GA beef plate and think they were slightly cold and dry like they’d been sitting just little too long. The potato pave was amazing and the chimchurri sauce exceptional! Unfortunately I had a few sinewy slices of beef but the others were great! Would return and try the swordfish entree. Definitely make a reservation and try it out!
I was treated very nicely for my birthday. I'd like to thank the entire staff for the fantastic dinner and for making me feel welcome in Charleston. Looking forward to dining again.
Excellent. The whole experience starts from the moment you step foot onto the property. From the cocktails at the adjacent bar that is its own building and resembles a mash up of a barn, speakeasy and lodge to then walking to the main house to then dine. We had Scallop tartare and it was fire! The steak and fish where perfect and we had the best dessert in all Charleston with Blackberry & Corn Frangipane.
Exquisite! We ordered the pork lettuce wraps to start, followed by the chicken, pork and the steak, and the corn bread as a side. We finished with the scooter pie and scoop of the coffee with duck fat caramel ice cream. Everything was absolutely amazing! Including the cocktails. Especially loved the frame in the entry way displaying the ingredients and where they are locally sourced from. The service was lovely, too. The ambiance was cool and modern which was unexpected. All in all a great experience. Highly recommend - make a reservation far in advance :)
