My husband took me to dinner here for my birthday and it was amazing! The food was so fresh and we loved everything we got! The oysters on the half shell were my favorite, so fresh! And we got the most delicious cake for dessert. The service was very good and I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. Perfect location in downtown Charleston as well.

From the moment you walk in, you are made to feel very special. We sat out on the covered patio, and the ambiance is perfect. Our server, Jessica, did a masterful job of helping us decide what to choose. Food and service were top notch. Will definitely return next time in Charleston. PS...don't forget the best coconut cake you'll ever have

Everything about this place was absolutely excellent. We went to celebrate the first night of our honeymoon and they treated us like royalty. The New York Strip was phenomenal and easily the best steak I have ever eaten. The goat cheese potatoes were also incredible. If you want a magnificent meal, this is worth the price.

The service was awesome and the food amazingly good. A special shout-out to our sommelier, she was very well versed in their wines and we had a perfect rosé and a great Barolo. She knows her stuff! The atmosphere was nice but hearkens back to a style from years ago, white tablecloths and a bit "stuffy"? Prices were high but if you want excellent food that's well prepared and unique, this is a good place to experience! Photos are of she-crab soup, Burrata salad appetizers and desserts of their famous coconut cake and raspberry/hazelnut mousse.

Had brunch at the Peninsula Grill. Delicious shrimp and grits. Sat outdoors but the indoor dining has cool ambiance as well. If you’re looking for proper low country cuisine. The Peninsula Grill at the Planters Inn is an A+ choice.

Came here for dessert only and it was hands down the best thing I've ever had. I tried the coconut cake and the suggested Moscato and it was the perfect ending to an already wonderful dinner. The staff and ambiance were delightful and the restaurant was not busy at all as I went on a Tuesday evening. Will come back just for dessert the next time I'm in town.

Fine dining restaurant, famous for their coconut cake. We had the Burrata Salad, She Crab Soup, Acorn Squash and Quinoa Salad, Scallops, Filet, fish of the day, and Oysters. Service was excellent. Price is as you would expect, but worth it!

My fiancée and I went here for a romantic night out and it exceeded our expectations. We made a reservation ahead of time which is what I would recommend. The place itself had a true charleston feel. Our server, Rick, was truly amazing. The food was of high quality and truly matched the feel of the restaurant. The experience is worth the price.

Delicious food from an eclectic menu. I had an oysters plate appetizer before my swordfish main course (both sourced locally in SC). My companion had roast duck. YUM! The food was simply amazing, and my view of the kitchen added a nice element of WOW to the experience (lots of fire flamboyance). Our server was very accommodating as well, patiently defining the words on the menu I could not interpret, while keeping good humor at my indecisiveness over narrowing down what I wanted. 🤣 It was fairly busy (dinnertime), and is in a primo location for downtown (not many parking options, so prepare to approach on foot). There was also a very cozy, sturdy bar at / near the entrance foyer for those awaiting guests or reservations. Highly recommend!!!

This was a last minute change to our itinerary and we are so happy we went. We were under dressed and we felt bad but we did dine outside. Our server was gracious and made us feel at home. Some of the first things are that she addressed us by our surname. Nice touch! She had all kinds of recommendations and was helpful. We had She Crab soup which we found out is made individually and not a "big pot" of soup sitting in the back. I had the salmon which was very good. My dining partner had ordered some delicious oysters (he shares) and the Duck Breast with risotto. He let me have a bite and it was delicious! While it was pricier than our original dining plans, we are thankful that they were slammed and we were able to get a table here.
