This is a must try place. Excellent customer service excellent food excellent quality of food excellent experience. Next time I am in the Charleston North Carolina area it's a must for me. You order your protein and the other options can be family style worked out perfect for the party group.
Celebrated my husband's birthday with our two little ones (4 and 7) and it was absolutely fantastic! Our server was amazing – so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We kicked off with raw oysters, French onion soup, and crab soup, all delicious and filling. The kids loved the oysters and crab soup. Our filets were cooked to perfection, hands down the best steaks we've ever had, and the sides, especially the creamed spinach, were equally delightful. Portions were generous, leaving us with enough leftovers for another great meal. We've been raving to everyone about this spot in Charleston!
We had reservations for our anniversary, and we had a great time. The waiter, Mr. JB was amazing and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious. The appetizers were fulfilling. However, I still ordered an entrée and desert. I couldn't help myself, I wanted more.
Pictured below, not in order or the specific titles from the menu, but just so you have an idea of what you should try. Salmon, seared scallops, grilled octopus w/arugula, calamari, cream styled corn with cheese, asparagus, and peach cobbler. Everything was great, we will definitely return.
This place has to be one of the best restaurants I've eaten at hands down. The service from the moment my partner and I entered the door was amazing. Food is worth every penny. We celebrated a first job offer that night and our waiter made everything perfect. If you want to go all out on a good meal, this is the place to go.
This is the third time we've visited Grill 225 and the food and service have always been outstanding. We started out with the fried lobster tail, which was delicious with the Dijon tarragon aioli. I had the ribeye, medium rare, and my wife had the lobster. Both were cooked perfectly and melted in our mouths. We tried the grilled tomatoes with creamed spinach and warm havarti cheese on the side, and it was delicious. We were both too full to eat dessert at the restaurant, but we brought home the Napoleon, which was surprisingly light but very flavorful, with lots of fresh berries. It was also huge! We only ate half and saved the rest for the following day. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Charleston. It's not cheap, but the food and service are always impeccable. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Superlative by every metric. The food was perfect. Service absolutely impeccable. We've eaten here two dozen times over the years and it's consistently exceptional.
This might be the best thing I've ever eaten. There were several points where I nearly cried from pure joy at what my tastebuds were doing. I HIGHLY recommend the molten raspberry cake and the fried calamari. The portions are generous the decor is gorgeous and everyone there was so kind. Thank yall for making my 20th birthday amazing
Very traditional steakhouse but with a Charleston flair. The dining room was cozy and intimate with wood walls and high back chairs. The service was precise. The food was delicious and as an added bonus the gluten free bread was amazing. Don't forget to order a Nitrotini, they are fun!
We’ve read a lot about Grill 225 and had been meaning to come here for a while. We were certainly glad we did. The waiter had top notch service, the atmosphere was quiet and delightful, and we enjoyed the food.
The nitrotinis are worth mentioning as they’re unique to 225. With probably 20 different drink options, we loved them. The bread served before dinner was an eclectic combination and the butter was great (sorry but bad butter means bad bread).
My wife ordered the fillet with two scallops added and it was a amazing. I had the NY Strip. It was just kinda okay. In fact, it’s the only thing we honestly didn’t care for. It was a bit fatty and undercooked. I was hungry so I just ate it but I would not get it again. The filet is where it’s at.
For dessert, we ordered the chocolate molten soufflé and it was amazing. We left full enough to have to go home and put on comfy clothes.
Note: There are less expensive options for dining on Bay Street. Our total was probably $215 for all of that. Might not have the pockets to eat here every week but it’s a great date night restaurant.
So we were celebrating our anniversary so I included that in our reservations! We were shown to very private & romantic table! The waiter was very professionally & congratulated us on the celebration with a free glass of champagne! Next he recommended specials I choose the fillet & my wife hade wedge salad. Next we choose desert & chef had put happy anniversary on the plate! I have been to so many restaurants around the county but so few go the extra mile to make your dinner special! This place really did make that night special for us! Thanks so much we will be back next time in town!
