Review Boat House Bar & Grill - Key West

Brian Holm-Hansen
The great service at the bar was friendly, prompt, and professional. Very good draft beer selection ranging from Guiness Stout to local brews. The food menu included a very good selection of appetizers. The lobster bisque and tenderloin kabobs were delicious. The kabobs came with a small side salad topped with blue cheese. The menu also had a very good selection of entrees, but the appetizers were enough to fill me up. The ambiance at the spacious bar was great. The location right on the marina is beautiful.

100% come here for happy hour. It's half off all starters and beers that are already cheap regularly. You're probably here because you drove the almost 4 hour drive from Miami anyways so just pig out here before you head home. Everything was tasty and satisfying and that's everything you can ask for for this kind of value. I would recommend some of my favorite items but honestly just select a handful and try them all!! Parking was easy in a huge lot next to this area that's paid (free on some days/hours). There wasn't AC inside which was a huge bummer but there are lots of fans circulating I suppose. Food: 7/10 Service: 8/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Value: 10/10

We went here the first day we got to Key West. We sat at the bar and the service was great, I noticed the service table was also on point, very attentive servers. The food was okay, honestly nothing that stood out to us. We tried several plates, it's good food but nothing special. You know I keep it honest. The atmosphere is a mix between locals and tourists but pretty decent. Their piña coladas are pretty tasty! They do have a really, really nice view of the pier so that is definitely worth it to check it out!!! They are one of the few spots in that area that are open till "late" but not too late. Overall I recommend it! 🔥🔥

I enjoyed the happy hour food option. It was very excellent and tasteful. The food serving was very fast! I was very well pleased how fast they were in removing the dirty plates from the table as well. And a special shout out to Kasie you were outstanding. Not expensive place but as for our first trip to key west it was a great place to dine in!

Small plates & drinks during their fabulous happy hour ... food, service & atmosphere can not be beat! Food arrived quickly & hot ... Our server - Valantina - was sensational! Make certain to treat yourself to this place on your next visit to Key West ...

Pretty new to the Key West scene. We got lots of recommendations, but we ignored them to try Boat House. Maybe one of the best Happy Hour deals I've ever experienced. The small plates menu was pretty darn delicious, and the Happy Hour is half price! We tried 6 different plates, all good. Our favorite was the ribs, but the wings weren't far behind. Great service too, very kind and timely.

Dockside restaurant located in the historic seaport. Accessible walking on the dock starting close to Duval or one of the parallel streets, can’t remember the name but easily found on google maps. They have a great happy hour menu from 4:30 to 6:30 pm with half off their small plate options which is many. Including drinks and beers. Our waitress, Jewels was wonderful. Very professional and attentive. Wear light close as there is no AC, but plenty of wall and ceiling fans to keep the breeze going. The food is pretty quick to come out of the kitchen, so you won’t spend too much time away from the Key West attractions. I saw a YouTube review on this restaurant and decided to try it out. It did not disappoint. I highly recommend it.

This place was our last stop for lunch before we left for the airport. The view of the waterfront was fantastic. Our server was Lindsey and she was a delight to work with. She was quick and attentive. My wife ordered the burger which she said was good and I ordered the Fried Grouper Sandwich. The grouper was not what I expected, it was greasy, I think I expected crunchy. It was still good just a little difficult to handle as it kept sliding out of the bun. The French fries were fantastic and so were the lemonades. I had the peach and my wife had the mango. All in all, a great place to have lunch and people watch as all the boats come into the docks and unload their passengers.

The Boathouse is one of our favorite restaurants in key west. Whether in town for work or pleasure, it is a must stop for lunch, dinner or happy hour. The food is consistently of exceptional quality and taste, and the service is prompt, pleasant and competent. The attention to detail is not spared in the salad department either. They are filled with crisp, fresh greens and veg of all sorts that are dressed in a wonderful vinaigrette. A special shout out to my favorite menu item, the panco crusted mahi-mahi. Served with a caper sauce and it is accompanied by salad and potato wedges. I will not go to KW without having it. The staff and management are doing things right at the Boat house. Until next time🥂

It is one of the best restaurants for fried seafood in Keys (I usually don't like fried food, but this is an exception). Fresh, crunchy, and tasty. Oh the best part is that the restrooms got cold AC vs the hot/warm ocean temperatures 😆 🤣. Highly recommend if you are around.

I went there couple times. First time I tried fried seafood platter, it was not great but second time I had grilled yellowtail and it was delicious. Plates are huge, and service was good. I’ve heard happy hour is good too.

We had blackened grouper sandwich, burgers, grilled chicken panini. The food was good, our server did ok but the views from the restaurant were beautiful!

Great restaurant on the Harbor Walk! Perfect for supper and/or drinks after a sunset cruise. And don't pass up dessert, the Toffee Pudding with Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream is not to be missed!!!

Good atmosphere and music, but heat was oppressive even with fans on interior seats. Happy hour tapas were all very good. Lambs chops (2) lobster tempura and buffalo shrimp shown in photo were steaming hot and flavorful. Ice water melted completely in 5 min due to incredible heat due to lack of ventilation Quick friendly service from bartenders. Likely 5 stars in cooler months.

We stopped in for Happy Hour. The 1/2 price small plates and selective drinks are a pretty good deal. We tried the conch chowder, clam chowder, fresh fish bites, and mini kabobs of filet mignon & mushrooms. All the food was flavored well and tasty. The meat on the filet kabobs was tough & chewy and did not seem to be filet. We were seated inside, but it was open to the outside. It was very hot & humid. The service was average, and we sometimes had to wait until we could get her attention to call her over. All in all, I would recommend this place for Happy Hour.

We are new to the area and heard this is a must stop for Happy Hour. Great food! So many choices and all the Small Plates were half off from 4-6:30pm. Drinks were not fabulous so we’ll stick with wine/beer next time. Overall it is a nice place to know about!
