Review The Cafe - Key West

Anthony Jreige
Put simply, this is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been too. Food was so delicious. Very large/decent servings to leave you satisfied. And the staff were kind and always happy to help. A must stop if you’re vegan too! Both meals shared are vegan. But all of if not most of what they serve can be make vegan as well. But if you’re not vegan, they still have great meat options too. A place to stop and eat for everyone. Wish I could have stayed in Key West longer just to go back!!

The restaurant was highly recommended by a staff at a nearby hotel. I wasn't sure what to expect but decided to try the noodle bowl with salmon. My husband had the veggie meatball with fettuccine, and we split the sweet potato fries. I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor of everything. Delicious! I told my husband that if we were in KW for a bit longer, I would try just about everything they had. Highly recommended.

Loved it! Great little cafe with delicious food and excellent service. Food was clean and scrumptious. I really enjoyed everything about this place and this meal. Off the beaten path by a block and well worth a look. I am not vegan but there are many healthy options here.

The Cafe is a wonderful low key place to get really amazing food. I had their mushroom and falafel pita (special) and my wife had their avocado and quinoa salad with grilled shrimp. It becomes obvious that culinary excellence is what this restaurant aims for. A small spot that leaves a big impression.

I had the pleasure of visiting The Cafe and I must say it was an extraordinary culinary experience for any plant-based food enthusiast. From the moment I stepped in, I was immediately drawn in by the inviting ambiance of the restaurant, complemented by the captivating artwork gracing the walls. I saw their delectable vegan dishes online and couldn't wait to sample their offerings. The array of dishes I tried was nothing short of outstanding. The Truffled French Fries were perfectly crisp, and the addition of delectable vegan cheese on top took them to a whole new level of satisfaction. The Spinach Gyoza Dumplings were a delightful combination of flavors, and the Un-Wing Dings with tahini sauce stole the show as my favorite appetizer – absolutely exceptional! However, the true highlight of the meal was the Pepper "Steak" & Swiss sandwich. Made with seitan, shitake & portobello mushrooms, peppers, onions, and vegan cheese, it evoked fond memories of a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, but I dare say it surpassed my recollection of the traditional version. The flavors were incredibly rich, and the combination of ingredients was simply divine. On this sweltering day, the Dad's Classic Red sangria provided the perfect refreshment, and I found it to be a delightful complement to the dishes. Yet, what truly set The Cafe apart was the exceptional service provided by Lucas, our waiter. Despite the restaurant not being bustling with activity, there was still a considerable number of patrons dining on a busy Saturday afternoon, and Lucas managed everything with remarkable grace and efficiency. He managed all of the tables, including the bar patrons, and yet his attention to detail, extensive knowledge of the menu, and genuine warmth made us feel like we were the only guests in the restaurant. Lucas not only took our orders but also went the extra mile to provide suggestions, answer questions about the dishes, and engage in a friendly chat about his time in Key West and south Florida. His dedication to ensuring each guest received quality service was remarkable. Overall, The Cafe offers an unforgettable culinary experience that is sure to impress even the most discerning vegan foodies. The delicious food, especially the Pepper "Steak" & Swiss, combined with Lucas's exceptional service, made my visit truly memorable. I wholeheartedly recommend The Cafe to anyone in Key West, especially those who lead a plant-based lifestyle. It will undoubtedly become a must-visit spot every time you return to Key West.

Not just vegan...they have salmon and shrimp options, also. Our appetizer of Cafe Spring Rolls were a bit over-cooked, yet we still enjoyed them. My Curried Butternut Squash was delish, and the Sautéed Spinach that accompanied it had the BEST flavor EVER!! My husband totally enjoyed his Grande Burrito 🌯 😋 We both had Coconut Cake to end it♡ We will definitely come back to try out some of the other selections!!

Hidden gem in Key West. Cute spot tucked away on a side street. Hands down one of the best salads I’ve ever had. The quinoa salad one day with grilled shrimp. The next day with grilled salmon. Breakfast choices do not disappoint either. Large portions, great service. Will definitely visit again when we go back to Key West!

Fantastic place… it was our first time in Key West and decided to try this place for breakfast/lunch and the food was exceptional. Ordered the breakfast wrap and breakfast burrito with pico de gallo and it was phenomenal. Service was excellent and art was beautiful. will definitely visit this cafe again when we come back to Key West. Definitely recommend this restaurant you won’t be disappointed. They also have Vegan options.

Wish we had found this place earlier on our trip! Really quality and delicious food and drinks. Have brunch, lunch, and dinner options. Branden was wonderful and very pleasant. Loved this place - 100% coming back tomorrow. Don’t skip out on this.

Actually my first time ever at a veg restaurant. Fav was the tomato cream soup, if you’re a fan of tomatoes you would LOVE it. The portions are so large I could not finish at all. Squash and salad, both amazing. Service was a bit slow but there was just one guy manning the whole front of the restaurant and given the circumstances he was doing a good job, very friendly as well. We wanted to try the lime cheesecake but were too full to do so. Would visit again.

If you are vegan or vegetarian, and you are in Key West, this is the only place to be. Delicate combination of flavors and wide choice of options add up to amazing and thoughtfully presented food. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had breakfast and the best we have since becoming plant based. Finish off your amazing food with key lime pie cheesecake. Everything is made with love in-house and is fresh and organic. Juan took care of us and was so welcoming and kind. Just a superb experience!

Can’t recommend this place enough, specially for vegetarians and vegans. The food here was amazing, especially the blackened tofu with spicy Szechuan sauce stir fry.other thing I tried was the spinach gyoza dumplings, which were good. The service here was very welcoming and friendly

Hidden gem located just off of bustling Duval St. Lovely interior with some beautiful quirky artwork. The menu was expansive and had a very worldly feel to it. Many vegetarian and vegan options and unique dishes. I opted for the smoked salmon bagel with onions and tomatoes with a side of pico. As you can see from the photo shown, the plating was done in a strange deconstructed style. This made enjoying it challenging. However, every component was fresh and delicious. Particularly the bagel itself. I opted to just eat the Pico rather than fuss around with the onions and tomatoes. The service was very good but seemed rushed. There were only 2 wait staff which seemed to show in the wait times. But individually I was impressed with their competence. If I was to come again I would likely order a different dish, partly due to the difficulty in enjoying this one, and also due to the expansiveness of the menu. My companions enjoyed their omelettes and salads.

My friend and I had brunch here. They have an excellent vegan selection. Juan and Amanda were extremely sweet and helped us with so many recommendations. I had a big bowl of fresh, sweet fruit! They cut up my friends big sandwich and came by to ask if we needed anything all the time. They have vegan desserts too - including key lime pie! While I didn’t try it - it’s a great option for those who want to try the iconic island dessert while staying within their vegan diet. They even got me an extra banana when I gave my dish away. Great food, kind people, cool ambience. Watch for really cool art by local artists !

We've been eating here for years, as we are pescatarian and the food fits our diet. Today we each ordered something new. My husband has a severe onion allergy and ordered the cold soba noodles with peanuts, which didn't mention onions. There was at least a quarter cup of scallions on top, that I had to pick off for him. I ordered the polenta sticks, which referenced roasted red peppers but not onions. They also contained onions. The food is really good, just make sure you reference any allergies as they may not be referenced on the menu.

Absolutely delicious vegan options! We got the Udon Noodle Bowl, the Kung Pao Tofu, and Key Lime Pie. Wonderful food, great vibe, friendly service!
nishant pillai
Good vegetarian options available. One person was handling everything which becomes difficult if you want to ask about the items on the menu or order something later on as the person is overwhelmed and in hurry. Note: About 20% if the service tax is already included in the bill. Pay parking is available on the streets.

What am amazing little cafe. Great vegan food, although it is not exclusively vegan, a brilliant selection of tasty drinks and service second to none. If you're after vegan food in Key West this has got to be the go to place.

The staff is very friendly. They were so busy that before they were able to seat us, we were invited to sit at the bar while they cleaned off a booth. So we are currently living in Asheville NC which is quiet the area for food. First of all I've paid more for less vegan food. I've paid more for lesser quality vegan food. 12.50 for a jumbo size vegan burger at The Cafe. The patty had great flavor and the texture was spot on. A nice crispy exterior without drying the middle. Everything tasted so fresh. The burger was served with a curry sauce on the side which I consumed every drop of. All the veggies on the burger were fresh. I never ever eat raw tomatoes and I did on this because it looked and tasted so delicious. The sweet potato fries were on point. The serving that I received was so large that I really felt like I had a French fry fix when I left. You could tell that they were fresh In house. Again nice crispy exterior with a moist middle. Nothing tasted oily and I did not feel super bloated after stuffing myself with all that goodness. The food here is whole food and not junk food. I've been to plenty of vegan friendly places where they just try to make meals out of soy fillers! My drink was filled when it was getting low and our server was very friendly. She was always smiling and made us feel at home Last but not least the fries were so good that when my wife heated them up the next day we wanted to go back for more. Decided to go to another joint because we are on vacation but we definitely recommend. 👍✌️

The service fantastic, but the food is delicious and healthy, the chocolate vegan pudding my favorite desert. I recommend this place 💯 %

We ate here for our wedding dinner whilst on holiday in Key West and it was easily the best meal we had whilst on holiday! The food was superb and we had so much choice for veggie/vegan options which we usually struggle with on holiday. The staff were also very friendly and gratefully booked 9 of us in the day beforehand! Will definitely be coming back on our next holiday to Key West!

Love this place !!!! Every vegan item on this menu is amazing !!!! The staff is great too !!! Oh and what kind of magic do you do on your tofu piccata ?!?!? Wow !!!!
Monica Lepore
Vegan meatball sandwich is amazing and also mint tea and the watermelon sangria

Great food! Lots of options for both vegans and non vegans. So good we will be returning there tonight. Highly recommend!

We love coming here when we visit Key West to get some healthy food to balance out the bar hopping! This trip, I had a great veggie stir fry with peanut sauce. So many vegan options to choose from! We wanted dessert (vegan chocolate cake) but we were too full. Next time...

Great food great people Every time I'm in Key West I make it a point to stop in there and eat

Excellent vegetarian food. As a meat eater, I can honestly say, they managed the impossible, which is for me to not only eat Tofu and rice, but actually enjoy it!
Brian Michelle Menendez
The most amazing and fresh food you can ask for! I love the decor and art that graces the walls. The service was always great too. Very kind and helpful.
Heather Dawn Bennett
First timer here! How did I not know about this place? Great food! Huge menu! Will be one of my new go to spots!!!
Alyson Crean
One of my favorite restaurants on the island. Always outstanding, and the unique vegetarian dishes are second to none!
Barbie Brink Herstrom
Best waitress and best Key Lime pie and Veggie burger
HungryHulk
Happy we choose this place for lunch on our trip . Was bit pricey compared to Miami but good food . Got Udon noodle soup and another vegetarian dish . Enjoyed the food and vibes were good of the place
Sam Mirza
Sweet little place with nice ambience. The server was overwhelmed with work but managed to get our order in a somewhat reasonable time. The food was superb. Soup was outstanding. Recommend this place highly particularly for vegetarians or vegans as they don't do beef chicken or pork
Ripal Bhavsar
Lovely place! Lovely people! A good place for the vegetarians to fill up their tummies. The food was really good. I liked the Falafel. Do try!
Jay Mehta
Although not purely vegan, the place has a good number of vegetarian and vegan options. The food - not as great as Sugar Apple or Date & Thyme - was good. <br/><br/>Food: <br/><br/>We went for Spinach Gyoza dumplings (served with soy-ginger sauce) and Grilled Marinated Tofu Chimichurri (with lemon garlic kale and sweet potato fries (substituted against mashed potatoes)). Spinach Gyoza dumplings were okay. The dumplings were a little short of filling and the flavors didn't come together that well. It was also a tad bit more oily as we could see it on the surface. Boiled would have been better instead of fried, I guess. Tofu Chimichurri, on the other hand, was great. The kale and the sweet potato fries were great as well. A little more grill on tofu to make it drier would have been great. But overall, I loved the dish. For drinks, we went for their Homemade Iced Chai with Soy Milk and Cafe Housemade Kombucha on tap. Iced Chai was great. The Housemade Kombucha served in a mason jar, was really great. For desserts, we went for their Vegan Chocolate Pudding (served with vanilla bean-coconut cream on top) and Vegan Keylime Cheesecake (as they say the only vegan cheesecake in Key West). We loved the chocolate pudding part of the Vegan Chocolate Pudding. Vanilla bean-coconut cream had more ice flakes into it than cream. However, the chocolate pudding was good at the bottom. Vegan Keylime Cheesecake was good and had a perfect sour-sweet balance. <br/><br/>Ambiance:<br/><br/>It has a little loud interior - with too many things on the walls. There are t-shirts, artifacts, quotes and much more. It is probably one of the rare restaurants that celebrate vegetarianism out loud!! Various cool messages are there on the printed t-shirts, plaques, and other items. There are a few paintings as well. Overall, very colorful. It's a place where you would love to have breakfast/brunch on a bright sunny day. <br/><br/>Service and Staff:<br/><br/>The service was good and quick. The lady attending us was quite friendly. No issues there. At the time of billing, they put a little postcard along with the bill with greetings, which you can take along with you as a memory. It was an innovative and a very nice gesture. <br/><br/>Overall, while the food was good, except for the Spinach Gyoza and the cream (or I may say ice flakes) part of Vegan Chocolate Pudding, but it is definitely worth a try.

Didn't realize it was a vegetarian leaning place. Waitress very friendly and made recommendation and answered questions. I had the Chicken and Waffles, fried cauliflower, great waffle, syrup and blueberries. The "chicken" was breaded fried cauliflower, was amazing! My spouse had the "cheesesteak" that was tofu, mushroom, cheese, and onion. Excellent as well. Would definitely eat here again.
Kristina
As a visiting vegetarian, I was excited to try a restaurant away from home that served vegetarian food. It was delicious food, and really good value. The service was slow, they seemed to be under staffed or just not attentive enough. Would definitely recommend it to anyone- vegetarian or not.
Doug Silver
Tasty vegetarian. I had the falafel and it was quite good. Not far off Duval St. Also serves a little local seafood. My girlfriend got a veggie burger, and she liked her's, too.
Rhonda Drummond
Excellent Vegan Cafe!!. Wonderful healthy Vegan food... Really doesn't get any better than this! Love this place! Wish we had one at home!
Nat
The service is terrible. It's overly priced and their rude service doesn't justify the price. When someone is waiting for take out you don't kick out the family members just because they didn't buy anything. That's rude and your business will eventually suffer.
Lizandchris
Awesome. Loved this place! Great service, very friendly. Really liked the decor. Went there a couple of times durng our visit. The vegan French toast was to die for! best french toast we have ever eaten, vegan or otherwise. Also had the Veggie Burger and the Falafel sandwich.
Canisteo4
Simply the best!. From the outstanding plant-based entrees to the divine carrot cake, and all other desserts for that matter, to the helpful, friendly staff, this is the top place for a vegan to eat. We love everything we've eaten there!

Love, love, love The Cafe --- never disappoints

WORST SERVICE EVER.... We.... WORST SERVICE EVER....<br/><br/>We booked table for 10 n with the menu card we were told to order everything at once as we have next customer waiting for this table that means they told the other customers that the wait time is 10 or 15 mins n they were forcing us to order quickly eat quickly n leave quickly. Later we asked for one more pizza n coffee n the reply was "we already told u that we have next customer waiting we would appreciate if u could pay n leave"

My husband and I was recommended this restaurant by our masseuse, and we were excited to find a restaurant that was fresh and not expensive. When we we arrived the place was not crowded, we sat a cute table and ordered. After about 10mins the place was packed. At this point our waitress came back to ask for our order, we have been here for 20<br/>mins, and she asks us for a reminder NOW! My husband got a salad, and I got the specials. Well after another 20mins we realize that other people who arrived after us are getting there food and the special, but we are not. After attempting to get our waitress' attention for about 15 mins, we left. No food, no respect. Do not waste your time.

Not Gluten Free Confident. I didn't even eat there, but I feel compelled to write a review. I have severely reactive Celiac Disease & have been glutened in many restaurants that offer gluten free dining. So I called ahead to inquire about the procedures the staff follows when a gluten free meal is ordered. The conversation went something like this:<br/>"The procedures we follow when a gluten free order is placed?"<br/>"Umm.... yes."<br/>"Well...... we tell the kitchen it's gluten free."<br/>"Okay..... & once you do that how is the order handled?"<br/>"How is the order handled?"<br/>"Umm.... yes."<br/>I then went on to explain that when restaurants are good at providing safe gluten free dining, they have procedures in place when a gluten free order comes up. She said that the chef knew how to prepare gluten free meals, so "it should be fine."<br/>I see. And if it's not fine, I'll have about 6 weeks of not being able to absorb nutrients, debilitating fatigue, chronic illness & injury, a ruined vacation & missed work. No thanks. I'll have to take a pass on The Cafe.<br/><br/>I really wish restaurants would not post that they are Gluten Free friendly if they aren't.
Suriya
Good food, especially sweet potato fries! But portions are very large and hard to finish.
PBC
The food was absolutely amazing. A lot of choices to please a variety of tastes. Im not vegan or vegetarian, but my girlfriend is vegan. Non-vegan eaters would have no problem eating here, as long as they don't get caught up on the idea that vegetarians/vegans can only eat rabbit food. Also- there are multiple vegan desserts that are homemade and delicious.
The Brit
Loved it!!! Lovely dinner, .... Loved it!!!<br/>Lovely dinner, everything excellent !!<br/>Would recommend to all !<br/>A+++++++

Awesome!. We have been coming to the Keys/Key West for about 10 years and I can not believe I have never heard about The Café until this last trip! I have been vegan for about 3 years and was vegetarian for many years before that and it has always been a struggle to find a place that would satisfy both my husband and I....until now! We came down in April and ended up eating here twice in the same week and it was great both times! My husband got some kind of seafood special both days and said it was really good. He also asked a waitress for a beer recommendation and she told him the Magic Hat #9 was good so he tried it and he loved it and has gotten it at home since then. I of course wanted to try everything! The first night I got un-wing dings, burger bites and sweet potato fries, they were all awesome! My husband had to try them all also and he loved them too! I think I was boring the second time we went and just got the burger since the burger bites were so good! We are coming back in July and already have plans to eat here!

Frustratingly disappointed. So badly wanted to like the place since it has a good number of vegetarian items in their menu. The British lady while very pleasant was very....let's say either unorganized or disinterested. I swear to God I don't think she listened to anything I said. The food....whatever...nothing memorable.
Bukmdano
SO disappointly bad. Firstly, there's little or no air conditioning...in Key West...in the summer. I thought, "It's okay...I can deal." Next, we asked the owner/server to recommend a certain style beer. She <br/>was 100% clueless and became <br/>flustered. We said "just bring one beer and we'll try it." Again, she got confused. We ordered the clams and bruschetta as tapas and told her we'd wait to order entrees. When she brought our beer, <br/>she asked for our entree order. Forgetful much?? She brought the order and audibly sighed and goes, "This table is too small." Um, lady it's your cafe...get bigger tables. The clams were lackluster at best, and the bruschetta <br/>"grilled" bread was burned. I still have the taste of charcoal in my mouth. First impressions matter and ours was awful.

The best!!. I love this place!!<br/><br/>I had to have falafel and this place had it so my friend and I came here for lunch. <br/><br/>The falafel platter was delicious and huge and satisfied my craving. My friend had a stuffed mushroom appetizer and some freshly caught fish for his lunch. The appetizer alone was enough for a meal! It was so tasty and fresh. The fish was right off the boat and to die for. <br/><br/>They have organic beers and wines which we had to try. This place is just one of those places that makes you want to hang out, have some great healthy food, and have a couple drinks with friends. <br/><br/>It's small, cozy, friendly and they deliver!!!<br/><br/>I would go to Key West just to come here!!
Dani Ho
Would go again :). Very vegetarian! There were a few fish options, as well. The drinks were fantastic! The house lemonade was quite fresh and cool; it was served with a sprig of mint. We ordered the sweet potato fries with curry sauce, which were very tasty as well as interesting. The side salad was very fresh and not a speck of iceberg lettuce in sight! For an entree, we ordered the fig and gorgonzola pizza. It was a pretty adventurous, but had a fantastic texture and the blend of salty and sweet was enjoyable. Portions were large and generous. Would go again.

Glad We Finally Found It!. We have been renting a place on Big Pine Key for three years, traveling the 30 miles to Key West at least once a week. We had dined at many of the typical spots, especially the few that offer good vegetarian options (for me, not my wife).<br/><br/>For Christmas this year, my daughter gave me a gift certificate for The Cafe, after finding it online. We had never heard of The Cafe, even though it's been there for over 10 years. We usually look for the restaurants that have unique offerings that include vegetarian options, but somehow missed this one.<br/><br/>Well, long story short, we have now dined at The Cafe twice, once each for lunch & dinner. Both experiences were very good. The first time I had the Schezuan Stir-Fry with Flat Noodles and Tofu, and the second, Kung Pao Tofu. Both were very good. Portions are extra large, My wife had the Veggie Burger and the Gorgonzola & Fig Pizza. She absolutely loved the pizza, comparing it to the ones she's had at the famous Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix.<br/><br/>As an additional bonus for us, they have several excellent microbrews to choose from.
Toto
Great atmosphere and staff. Had to be a little patient and wait for a table on a busy Friday night, but great curry, hard-to-find Udon, and unbelievable falafel! Try some of their beers on tap.
Veggie
One of the best in Key West. Best and creative beers. A must try is the banana bread beer. The fake sausage quesadilla, the acorn squash and fig and Gorgonzola pizza were incredible. Way too much food so the second night we had the artichoke dip and kung pao tofu. Fantastic!! Definitely a must for all vegetarians and vegans.
Sammy J
The Cafe has got it goin on! As a vegan it's really tricky finding delicious and filling food that's isn't made in my own kitchen! I ordered the tofu stir fry and it was PACKED with veggies and flavor! My boyfriend got the falafel plate wih sweet potato fries. The dippig sauce was made with yellow curry and some sort of citrus... Best sauce on the planet. Go to the Cafe!
Bdb
Veg friendly and creative. We live in Key West 4 -6 weeks each year, and have been eating at this place at least once a week. <br/><br/>One of us is vegetarian, and there are many options. The tuna was perfect.<br/><br/>Laid back, which is great, but also providing take-out.<br/><br/>Great value for the money. Distinctly different than many of the places listed on this website...
Kristen Shackle Ford
Have been there twice during my visit to key west! Have not been disappointed what so ever everything is great! The beer selection is extremely unique and everchanging! Definitly somewhere I would suggest just don't try sitting in the waitress station they will get confused.
Delia Ronson
Had a lunch here on the go in the keys, It was tasty, fresh and will be back each time Im back
Jennifer
Finally falafal!. I love their falafal (sp) sandwich! I would love it just a little more if they would give me the ingredients all on the side so it wasn't so messy but it's the only place in town with decent falafal so I can't complain. And they deliver in Old Town.
Linz
Absolutely delicious! I ate here with my family. For an appetizer we had the bruschetta which is by far the best I have ever had. For lunch I had the grilled portabella salad with the balsamic vinaigrette. It was adorned with goat cheese, sweet peppers, tomatoes, sprouts, almonds, & two sesame crackers to add appeal. I wish I had room for dessert!
Joann L
Went there for a late lunch. I had the veggie burger with sweet potatoes fries. The burger was the best I've ever tasted and I can cook. The sweet potato fries were really crispy. My husband had the Kung pao tofu. He loved it and had to bring some home. The portions are huge. Large selections of wines, micro brewed beers and some good non alcohol beverages. I Will Return!
JCEats
Have no fear meat eaters!. Not a vegetarian and there are plenty of dishes that'll satisfy. Great place for sure!
Tommy
Excellent veggie fare. Generous portions. Good to have seafood options for carnivorous bro.
Blaine
A Great Vegan Place. This may be the best place in KW, regardless of how important organic & vegetarian food is to you. They have great seafood entrées and we have tried so many of the menu options, it is tough to say which is tops. In KW for 30 days this trip. Life partner is Vegan. I eat seafood. They have great beer & ale options, drinks are strong & sangria pitcher is overly generous.
Verena
Most excellant!! Shame they have a couple of seafood options because it spoils it from being totally veggie. A bit pricey but worth it! Put your phone down & go now.
Brendan
If you're vegan and in key west, don't mess around anywhere else, just come here. There are so mant options! I'm from Portland, Or, arguably the most vegan friendly city in the world, and I wanna open a franchise back home :)
Anna J.
Vegan friendly! dreamy soups! soooo many flavors here! KW local, and i eat here at least twice a week ( or have the goodness delivered) killer desserts. fun, attentive, knowledgable staff. Plus, local awesome (always changing) art!!!!
Sara Moses
Really really good. A friend and I met for lunch...she had the veg burg with sweet potato fries, they were delicious!<br/><br/>I ordered the spicy szechuan stirfry and it was great too!<br/><br/>Avoided the "same old same old" flavors that haunt vegetarian cooking. <br/><br/>I'll go back!<br/>Sara

Moved from KW almost two years ago and still haven't found a place this good. Schezuan tofu stir fry, creamy tomato soup, quiche... All so good. Plenty for the non vegos to enjoy, too
Maxamilla
Omg good!. Wow, the food here is amazing! Even my non-veg husband was salivating. The veggie burger bites are incredible and the sangria was the best I've had on the island. Waitstaff is okay friendly. Absolutely love the food!
Elduder
Meh good not great. First off I am not a vegetarian but I do like thay style of food. We were trying to go elsewhere but wound up here. Nice ambience inside and solid service. <br/><br/>the food was good not outstanding I had a nice portabella salad with tuna added, I have to have seafood with every meal down here. The gorgonzola pizza was very strong tasting due to the cheese almost too strong. <br/><br/>I would try other veggie places before coming back here.
Piper Smith
I am a local and this is my (and my husband's) favorite restaurant. Keith and Jamille do an amazing job with food. My favorite is their clams provencal, the pizzas and I think the world's best tomato soup. The staff is fabulous. If you are a foodie, this place is not to be missed!
Alli Deneweth
Awesome! Great atmosphere, pleasant staff...and the food is wonderful. Their Sunday brunch is not to be missed, even for non vegetarians. Check 'em out!
Naomi
Sooooo good! Seared tuna is huge and sooo delicious!
Marc
Just ate there with my veggie wife... Food as great. Griilled veggie sand. And a pepper steak( seitan) sandwich . Def. Worth it
Dws
They do serve some seafood selections so don't fear if you are non-vegetarian. They did have a refreshing selection of beers. It seems Bud is the norm for KW so if want something like Sam Adams on tap drop in. My wife claims the sangria was some of the best she had, my sampling concurs with her assessment.

The dish was an outstanding medley of textures and flavors. It tasted fresh and the sweetness of the squash paired with the tart cranberries was a excellent flavor combination.

The Cafe in Key West serves up lots of great Vegan and Vegetarian options like this Portabella sandwich with a chickpea salad

After driving for hours, endlessly, with a few stops for pictures here and there, we finally reached Key West. TA folks were really awesome in suggesting all the good eateries in KW. Thanks a bunch, guys! We were in KW the rest of the day and wanted to fo

It rained quite a bit during our stay and one rainy evening we made our way to The Cafe , a quaint vegetarian/pescatarian restaurant on Southard St. I enjoyed the cold peanut noodles - one of my favorite things to make (and eat) while Calvin opted for the falafel sandwich, a special for the evening. Both dishes were excellent and the creative menu made me sorry we didn't have time to return. In addition to a wide array of traditional and ethnic vegetarian dishes, this place has an extensive seafood menu including clams and mussels. Definitely a good place for a little something different when you're in Key West.
