Peking Gourmet Chinese Restaurant

I’m not sure why this place got so many negative reviews. The food was great, service could have been better, but we were there on Christmas Day around 5:30. Very busy with the pick up orders and walk-Ins. All our food was hot, fresh and full of flavor. The hot & sour soup along with the wonton egg drop soup were delicious. We ordered from the dinner special menu, the chicken in garlic sauce with fried rice and Mongolian beef with fried rice, both came with an egg roll and the soup. Great prices!!!!

I had this delivered late on a Wednesday night and everything was really good. I got the hibachi steak and it was excellent, with nice, tender cuts of steak. I was impressed, as it all tasted very fresh, it didn't have that leftover/cheap/oversauced taste you get from some Americanized Chinese places

Ordered delivery through DoorDash. The food was hot when it arrived, which was great. All was very flavorful. Only downfall on food was the pork fried rice was a bit oily, but still flavorful. Downside: DoorDash was way too expensive. The order was $50.00 for all the food. DoorDash cost us a bit over $14 (delivery, service and tip). I do not mind tipping, but the up charge was quite a bit. Next time in Charleston, we will visit the restaurant and pick up ourselves. Recommend this restaurant.

I go to New Peking regularly on my lunch break and order the same thing over and over: General Tso's chicken. The food is good, and there's plenty of it for the price. If you order it delivery, however, you may want to use a 3rd party app or something. If you call in the lady working the phone tends to be very loud. So loud in fact that if you dine in you can occasionally hear her arguing and downright demoralizing people on the other end. By the way, I don't consider that last part a problem. I find it very entertaining.
