Jim and Alejandro made and delivered the most amazing Grooms Cake for my Son's Rehersal Dinner aboard The Carolina Girl Yacht. They are very easy to work with, their cakes are true works of art. Worth every penny, we decided on a Nautical theme Chocolate & Cointreau cake. The cake was truly decadent, all of our guests raved about this amazing cake! I would highly recommend Jim Smeals cake for any special occasion.
Jim and Alejandro were absolutely amazing to work with. The cake for our wedding was hands down the best cake I’ve ever had. We had lemon blueberry in one tier and carrot cake in the other tier and both were impeccable. As you can see in the photos the design was also fantastic and all with buttercream. They worked with us as well when we had a change in delivery location due to weather. I honestly can’t say enough great thing about these two and their beautiful company.
Jim and Alejandro are Charleston’s BEST bakers of wedding cakes. We were lucky to have a three tiered, beautifully decorated cake that featured a different taste in each of the tiers. The orange layer was our favorite, but we heard plenty of accolades for the rest of the cake. It was such a treat!
JIM SMEAL made our wedding cake years ago and my husband and i still talk about our amazing cake. It is still to this day the best wedding cake I have ever tasted (and we thought that at the tasting) Jim truly makes cakes that are as tasty as they and are beautiful! Over the years, we have ordered mini cakes for birthdays and anniversaries and his work has always been consistent. When you've been making cakes for decades that's not always true. If you want a truly memorable cake for any occasion have your cake made by Jim Smeal (I love them all but recommend the white chocolate with real raspberry puree filling . It's icing is light and not overly sweet like a lot of weekend cakes. The cake is so moist and just as good for our first anniversary as it was our wedding day)
I work for a popular catering company. Most of the events we cater are nice weddings. When I walk in to an event and see one of Mr. Smeals cakes, it makes my night! His perfection is recognizable and I can't stop looking at it. To truly appreciate the beauty of his cakes, you have to see them in person. And, unlike many wedding cakes, his are also delicious.
I am not one to typically enjoy or crave cake of any kind. Any event I attended where Jim has made the cake is instantly transformed. Everyone is so pleased from the very first bite including yours truly.
