TLDR; everything is perfect here, but stay away from the chocolate fondue. Absolutely loved the food here. Their sandwiches are so so good and so reasonably priced that I would come here every day of the week if I lived in Charleston. We came in twice - once for lunch and once for dinner. Ordered the croq monsieur and the Provençal for lunch - absolutely no regrets here. Highly recommend both. For dinner we got the Burgundy Champignon, Goat Toast and another round of sandwiches with the broccoli soup - everything was excellent as expected. However the chocolate fondue really stained my experience here - the flavors were odd and the chocolate didn’t feel rich.

Stopped by today for lunch and was really impressed with the quality vs. cost value. Very friendly and efficient service, and the food itself was fresh and delicious.

My wife and I walked here, as it was half a mile from our hotel near the market. We sat at the bar and bought a bottle of wine (Chateau du Trignon red Rhone). The server was very nice and helped us with wine and food choices. We started with the escargot. There were 12 pieces and served with slices of baguette. Very tasty. Then we had the bleu cheese fondue, which was heating up while we enjoyed the appetizer and wine. Bowls of bread and veggies (broccoli, carrot slices, and zucchini) to were served to dip. More than adequate for the two of us. It also came with soup or salad - we selected the chicken stew and enjoyed it. We loved this place and recommend it for small parties. We will go back if we visit Charleston again.

The atmosphere and food and service were all excellent at this restaurant. We gave it a chance when we tried to make a reservation elsewhere that was a two hour wait. In hindsight we would’ have chosen this restaurant over the other 1 million times over. Little individual tea pots, and honey pots made it extra special.

Stopped for a quick bite to eat while I was touring around Downtown. It’s quite the chic place! My server, Chris, was very friendly towards me and every other patron that walked in. I ordered the Enfant Terrible, which originally comes on sourdough, but they had ran out. Thankfully, choosing the croissant was a wise choice for a substitute! I’ll definitely check this place out again during future visits.

Not at all elegant but with a charm of its own. Food is French- style with an emphasis on bread, cheese, and fruit. A wide variety of soups. I had a vegetarian pea soup that was tasty, with vegetable chunks, French bread and a slice of some of the best honeydew melon I've ever had.

We stop here for lunch every time we’re in town and it never disappoints!! The sandwiches are always interesting and fresh as are the soups. The bread and croissants are perfect and the coffee press coffee is to die for. Fast & French is a Charleston must!

Fast and French is a great spot to take a lunch break! Delicious and fresh food served quickly with a casual European feel. I like the wine selection, coffee, soups and sandwiches. Convenient location for locals or tourists to enjoy. I have been coming here for years and will be back.

We loved this cute little restaurant. Staff was incredibly friendly. I had the bouillabaisse which was great. My husband got their chicken special. Wonderful atmosphere and great wine.

We enjoyed a delicious late lunch at Fast and Fresh (which is what the staff call the restaurant). Our server Max was delightful. We enjoyed numerous versions of a croque monsieur. All were delicious. The portions were plenty and the price was low considering the quality and quantity of the meal. I would highly recommend a meal at Gaulart & Maliclet if you are in the area, we will definitely return when next in Charleston.
