Gaulart & Maliclet French Cafe - Charleston - Photo album

TLDR; everything is perfect here, but stay away from the chocolate fondue. Absolutely loved the food here. Their sandwiches are so so good and so reasonably priced that I would come here every day of the week if I lived in Charleston. We came in twice - once for lunch and once for dinner. Ordered
Stopped for a quick bite to eat while I was touring around Downtown. It’s quite the chic place! My server, Chris, was very friendly towards me and every other patron that walked in. I ordered the Enfant Terrible, which originally comes on sourdough, but they had ran out. Thankfully, choosing the cr
Fast and French is a great spot to take a lunch break! Delicious and fresh food served quickly with a casual European feel. I like the wine selection, coffee, soups and sandwiches. Convenient location for locals or tourists to enjoy. I have been coming here for years and will be back.
Lovely little spot for lunch! Took the kids and enjoyed sandwiches and soups for a light lunch. We all were raving about the food we ordered. Several of my kids ordered the Croq Monsieur and thought it was delicious! We were also pleased at the vegan menu options. I ordered the lentil soup and anoth
We loved this cute little restaurant. Staff was incredibly friendly. I had the bouillabaisse which was great. My husband got their chicken special. Wonderful atmosphere and great wine.
My wife and I walked here, as it was half a mile from our hotel near the market. We sat at the bar and bought a bottle of wine (Chateau du Trignon red Rhone). The server was very nice and helped us with wine and food choices. We started with the escargot. There were 12 pieces and served with slices
A unique place in an old building with lots of charm. We sat in a table that was tucked in a back alcove that was so secluded that it was basically a private room, but the servers never forgot about us so it was nice. The food was okay (nothing special) and the selection was kind of restrictive, but
Good breakfast place serving typical French dishes. Coffee was good as well, could be sweeter for my taste. The MonteCristo sandwich for amazing, do definitely try that. Service was quirky but prompt. Prices are fair.
The atmosphere and food and service were all excellent at this restaurant. We gave it a chance when we tried to make a reservation elsewhere that was a two hour wait. In hindsight we would’ have chosen this restaurant over the other 1 million times over. Little individual tea pots, and honey pots ma
Delicious food and cute location! While my husband and I were in Charleston for our honeymoon we were just walking around looking for an easy and tasty brunch and we saw this place. It ended up being the most quaint little spot with French style cuisine. So fun and definitely picturesque! Coffee was
We enjoyed a delicious late lunch at Fast and Fresh (which is what the staff call the restaurant). Our server Max was delightful. We enjoyed numerous versions of a croque monsieur. All were delicious. The portions were plenty and the price was low considering the quality and quantity of the meal. I
Not at all elegant but with a charm of its own. Food is French- style with an emphasis on bread, cheese, and fruit. A wide variety of soups. I had a vegetarian pea soup that was tasty, with vegetable chunks, French bread and a slice of some of the best honeydew melon I've ever had.
We had originally tried to go to another spot but too crowded. Walked further down and found this adorable spot! We walked in and were able to get a space at the bar. I think we had just beaten the lunchtime rush because about 25 min later, it was bustling with business! I got the French onion soup
Fast, French and fantastic. This place has been a Charleston iconic French resturant for decades. It was great than and still is great now. The perfect place for a date night, or just to enjoy some really good French cuisine. Be sure and try the cheese plate if you are a fan of the fromage.
Stopped by today for lunch and was really impressed with the quality vs. cost value. Very friendly and efficient service, and the food itself was fresh and delicious.
We stop here for lunch every time we’re in town and it never disappoints!! The sandwiches are always interesting and fresh as are the soups. The bread and croissants are perfect and the coffee press coffee is to die for. Fast & French is a Charleston must!
