Bonchon - Silver Creek, Ca

Just discovered Bonchon on McKee & Capitol in the Grocery Outlet / Dollar Tree. It's a fast casual restaurant with a bar that features Korean beers and the food is a modern mix on traditional Korean food. At first I thought it was a fast food place and was going to order at the cashier but the friendly employee told us to sit down and he would serve us. We had the Korean tacos with bulgogi (tasty), Shrimp Shumai (okay), Udon Noodle soup (good) and got one strip of their double fried Korean chicken to try. The chicken was very good and I'll be back for more! On a side note ... I was fascinated with this business and read that it started in 2002 in South Korea and has grown to 389 restaurants worldwide across eight countries. The global brand was brought to the U.S. in 2006, and has expanded to 115 locations. All of those domestic stores are franchised, except for four.

Crispy and delicious Korean fried chicken. The spicy is most definitely kickin', wouldn't recommend if you don't like the heat! But the half and half is my favorite. The pickled radish is great as well. This was my first time trying the seasoned fries and they were crunchy and hot! Probably will get them again! A long time ago I had the kimchi coleslaw and remember liking it, but today it tasted too fermented.. almost like it was carbonated. Not my favorite. Bonchon is one of my favorite chains!

Ordered a small combo of fried chicken and steamed shrimp shumai, through Uber Eats. The small combo has pretty good amount of pieces, with six wings and three drums in the order. The crust is crunchy and not bland. Loved it! Shrimp shumai is available both fried and steamed, and we ordered the steamed one. There were eight dumplings which are small one bite sized. It was so good that I wished there were more pieces.

Despite some miscommunication, I appreciate the staff on hand who fixed the issue I experienced. 15minutes to get there, almost 30 to wait for the food, 15 minutes back home to realize I asked for boneless wings but their saucy deal is only for the in bone wings, to me calling them about it, to 15 minutes driving back, speaking with two people (both doing their job well) to me leaving with the right order and getting home 15 minutes after. Food: Spicy is fairly spicy, it doesn't pool any punches but won't melt your face (especially after a few wings) Soy Garlic is my favorite I think, balanced over all flavor and really satisfying. Sweet crunch...wasn't sold on it. It was... Ok. I wish it had a wee bit more flavor. Fries are amazingly crunchy :)
