Wendy's

I had been out, running errands and was starting to get hungry. I was at Ross across the street, so I decided, when I was done, I'd swing by Wendy's for a change of pace. I waited in a LONG drive-thru line (which moved fairly quickly) and, unfamiliar with the menu, requested a moment. When I was ready, the man took my order. I requested an iced tea (when I learned it was fresh & not powder) plus a lemon wedge. Well, they don't have lemon wedges, so he suggested he could add lemonade to it, so I agreed. (I was mixing the two together when I was a little girl, long before I ever heard of an Arnold Palmer, so I was okay with his suggestion.) There is an option of getting just the salad or a combination (w/fries & drink), but as I'm trying to lose weight, I settled on just the salad & a drink. And I'm glad I did because, boy, was there plenty to eat. At first, when I pulled out the salad box, I thought I had paid too much because the salad container was so much smaller than you get at, say, Jack in the Box. And then I took out all the accoutrements: chili, chips, salsa, & sour cream. Wow, was it a LOT of stuff! Seriously. I didn't add all of it in the salad either. Just SOME of the chili, a COUPLE chips crunched up, and a LITTLE salsa and sour cream. If I'd added all of each, the salad would've been a soupy, soggy mess. So I added a little of each and had chips & salsa as a side, with the remaining chili for later. Anyhow, it turned out to be a very filling lunch...and tasty, too. So I would certainly recommend the Taco Salad and am looking forward to returning in the future to try the other salads that sounded interesting. About the service, the girl at the window was VERY good. Efficient and quick. And friendly. I would recommend this Wendy's.

I eat at Windys five times a week. I love their biscuits and gravy. Went to IHOP, and ordered biscuits and gravy. What a dis-appointment. Gravy was watered down and no taste at all. I order mostly Dave's Single Burger, and biscuits and gravy. The food is fresh and the counter folks are so nice and polite. I love Windys!!

They weren't able to accept credit cards @ the counter only via the kiosks, so I paid cash. Got the receipt, then the employee who took my order & cash didn't notify the manager on duty [ before he left ]who said I didn't pay for my order. I showed her my receipt as well as my drink. She was upset. I eventually got the rest of my order.

Things have changed in the past 3 years, so I'm updating my review. The restaurant has improved significantly since. One thing I'm finding disappointing is their mobile ordering set up, especially in the morning. Since the indoor operation is closed, you must wait in the drive through line ... what is the point of allowing mobile ordering when you have to wait in the same line you would if you just went for the drive through? They've got mobile pick up parking in front of the store, why don't they make them functional in the morning for mobile order pick ups?

Fast food is fast food, you get what you pay for, but the folks behind the counter were pretty cool under a rush of customers and didn't mess up any orders while there, so props to them.
