Amazing vibe and atmosphere, friendly and super chill staff. Let us watch what we wanted on the telly. The steak and eggs was magnificent. They also have the most educational menu I’ve ever seen, with the history of each alcohol and an excellent selection. Great hidden gem.
Awesome food and drinks! Great for a date night. Very intimate feel and friendly staff. They had this amazing pamphlet included with the drink menu giving the history and proper composition of various types of liquor. Even if you don’t imbibe, it was worth the visit for the food and info alone!
Service, cuisine, people, space, spot on. Felt like I jumped 100 years back in time, like it was illegal to be there. Basement, hallways, dim lit areas.
The food was fantastic and arrived on time. The drinks were engineered to perfection.
A little tricky to find, but once you do you don't want to leave.
Love what the new management is doing with this place. Food was great, drinks were awesome, food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Definitely recommend!
Incredible atmosphere, Attentive authentically dressed staff. This place will transform you into prohibition era gangster. An eclectic selection of food options that taste as good as they look will help you absorb the incredible liquor selection. The prices are reasonable for the atmosphere and quality of food.
This bar is in a basement and can be hard to spot if you don't know where you are going. It has a cool atmosphere but definitely gets extremely crowded. There is a very small dancefloor. There is no cover charge, so that is nice. Drinks are a bit pricey, I paid $6 for a shot of vodka, but I guess that's how a lot of downtown bars are.
Bourbon house is a gem in a growing city of mediocrity. Offering for a lack of a better term a extremely unique speak easy type experience. You start at the corner of 200 and state and descend into this basement through a dark narrow stare case that opens up to a magical jazzy world only rivaled by J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter epic. Oh and the food...... the food..... foods great and at a great price.
I like Bourbon House because it’s got like a speakeasy vibe and a really great whiskey sour. I took my mama in on her birthday before seeing Wicked and we were able to sit down get drinks and talk before the show. It was a cool experience to share with her. The drinks are decently priced and every time I’ve gone in the staff has always been pleasant and quick.
Dark, quiet, has good cocktails and a good electro chillout playlist. The food is also very good, esp the apple fritter bites on the dessert menu. Open a location in Phx and I will be there.
Cool location. Reservations accepted. Great entrance. Eclectic and creative drink menu. Food was excellent. Ambience was dim, good vibe. Prices very reasonable. Service was very tentative. Our server was hard to find, seemed like she would be gone for large lengths of time. There was another guy (from the bar, I think) that really helped pick up the pace and provide our table with service. I'm sure they are short staffed, but the lack of attention really put a downer on our experience. There was 8 of us.
I love this place! It’s exactly like what I imagine speakeasies from a century ago would have been like — hidden away, accessible down a dim staircase and long hall, then bursting open into this wonderfully decadent place to eat, drink, and enjoy friends. The beer is good, and I love the food — especially the Totchos, tater tots turned into nachos — but everything I’ve had here, I’ve liked. This is one of my favorite hangouts in Salt Lake City.
Oh, and for out of towners, someone will ask to see your ID every single time you walk in, no matter how old you are, no matter how many times they have seen you. Don’t be irritated at the restaurant or its folks, because it is the law for all drinking establishments.
Cool basement speakeasy vibe. Great drinks , food, and service. Perfect date night
