#TheKathmandu is a great Nepalese and Northern Indian restaurant. The service was excellent, attentive, and gave great advice including on the spice level. We like it spicy! We really loved The Nepali take on dal with our order of #YellowDal Yellow lentils cooked with tomato, onion, and spices. While the dal was excellent the #GarlicCurryChicken was exquisite. The curry is cooked in a traditional Nepali style with tomato, onion, and spices, with a lot of favor of garlic. Good thing my husband and I love garlic so much and love finding dishes which are garlic forward. Simply amazing. We also ordered #SaagPaneer Fresh spinach and Paneer (cheese) cooked with garlic, onion, ginger and Nepali spices. As our dining partner loves that dish and Kathmandu’s version was excellent. All the delicious food was accompanied with rice and fresh baked Naan. We also enjoyed their #StrawberryLassi and #MangoLassi which always goes well with yummy spicy food. We really enjoyed everything we ate and would visit The Kathmandu again. #nepalicuisine #slcut
Our server recommended us new items to try and my children loved it! The garlic nann and the vegetable samosas were a delicious start- we were hungry. Try the Taj Mahal Beer!
One of the best Indian restaurants in SLC. We come here regularly for the reliability, good service, and quality of food.
The menu is diverse, with Nepalese options as well. The food quality is good and reliable. The rice is good too.
We tried the chef special and it was great!! The meat platter (sizzler) that was part of the chef special was SO GOOD! We got way more food than we were expecting, and had enough leftovers for lunches the next day. The service was great and they were all really nice. 10/10 would recommend and I want to go back again soon!
I found myself hungry in Salt Lake City when I found The Kathmandu restaurant. I found the staff to be very polite and helpful in choosing from their extensive menu. I ordered chicken Vindaloo with a side of garlic bread. It was genuine Indian cuisine and it was delicious. They have a lunch buffet and a full dine-in restaurant. Great job guys! Hope to see you again when I pass through SLC next time.
I recommend this place!! This is my first time meet here, I order lamb curry and lamb momo. I’ve been looking for lamb all over the city and their lamb in the Kathmandu taste soooo good!!
However, their restroom environment is poor and the service is only a little better than average. But still, this is a nice place to eat!
We recently held our company party (40+ people) at their Kathmandu II location and it was phenomenal. The food was plentiful, delicious, and authentic. I am so grateful for experience they provided for our company. Thank you!
The food was delicious. We got the Chicken Coconut Korma and the Everest Curry. Both were hits. The Coconut Korma was rich and hearty and the Everest Curry was bright and fruity. It was great. I highly recommend both of those. The Cheese Naan was fluffy, and my wife got a dairy-free Mango and Coconut shake which I tried and it was delicious. The atmosphere was quiet because we had a late lunch but the restaurant is obviously well taken care of! It was a ton of fun and I would recommend it absolutely!
We were on a trip from out of state and were looking for a lunch spot in the Millcreek area when we came across The Katmandu online. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. The Chana Saag and Daal Aloo ko Soup were both outstanding! My husband enjoyed the Chicken Tandoori. We ordered the bread basket with four types of naan. The naan was different than we expected (we prefer a soft, buttery naan), however, it was fun to try the different varieties and the sweet bread made a nice little dessert. We would eat here again if in the area.
Wow I was really pleased with some of the new flavors that I have never tried. We had a group so we went family style and orders a ton. The sweet naan was new as was the Everest chicken. It is still a lot of Indian influence so you get all the familiar curries. Tons of lassi flavors too but mango was best not the strawberry I tried
