It’s refreshing to eat at a restaurant where every dish was excellent. I eat at fancy restaurants around the world and Pallet ranks way up there. It’s a hidden gem, easily one of the best restaurants in Salt Lake.
We started with the pork belly. It came out piping hot and every bite was a combination of sweet and savory.
The bass in curry sauce with veggies was delectable. Again, the fish was piping hot and every morsel delicious.
The elk was mouthwatering. Wow.
Tres leches for dessert with blackberries. Perfection.
Attention to detail unparalleled...take for example the waiter sharpening steak knives before dropping them off at each table. Superb cheese plate! At most restaurants, usually at least one selection is not worth it. Not the case here! Meal was just as fabulous (elk for me, scallops for my wife). And great desserts...I chose the green tea tart.
What a cool find in SLC!! First evening they were fully booked so I made sure to reserve early the next day. Place is cozy and has character. Our waitress was very nice and even shared some of her homemade salsa ( thank you). Everything on the menu sounded delicious. Cheese board was great choice for the appetizer. Would highly recommend for a nice evening over some delicious wine and food.
I highly recommend the trout, my only criticism would be that a piece of bread would have been welcome because the sauce was so good that I wanted to lick my plate clean!!
Also this is the kind of place that mixes each drink as though it was a work of art, don’t miss out.
The staff are professional but not stuffy and are well versed in all the menus and offered excellent suggestions for pairings. The seasonal drink menu is not only inventive and fresh but it's just damn good. All the cocktails have their own individual flair and are balanced with unique and rare spirits. The "Solace+Tonic" cocktail being an immediate go to for summer 2019. The new seasonal dinner menu has something for all and good variety but, any foodie must try the octopus. The octopus dish has no equal in the SLC valley. A visit to Pallet is an experience, set aside extra time to chill at the bar and be ensconced in Pallet's warm amber lighting whilst hearing about the varied and interesting history of the place. The staff, the food, the cocktails all a cut above. Pallet has quietly become a crown jewel in SLC's rapidly elevating food scene. I know now what all the buzz around Pallet is for. Bravo.
Solid meal, everything was delicious and met our expectations for what we were paying. The elk was the most surprising because it was so tender and had a great smokey and pepper sear. The Yukon potatoes are a great appetizer but be mindful if you'll have potatoes on your main course as well. Also recommend the shrub sodas!
Pallet!!! Been here a half dozen times and every time has been a GREAT experience. Food is fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Staff is kind and professional. Wine list is fun and has some amazing options by the glass. The food at pallet is expensive because everything is sourced fresh and and takes time to prepare. If you prefer something cheap, please take your group of 10 to wingers. You can get out of there for under a hundred bucks. If you want an amazing dining experience and willing to pay for quality please Visit pallet. You get what you pay for. Especially in a time as difficult as COVID, where pallet has been forced to shut down for several months. Let us be kind and generous and support our local business. Amazing job Pallet.
Really fun place with some awesome staff! Loved the full board that I have a picture of here. My wife got the duck and I got the Elk. We liked both but just had some things we didn't love. The puree under the Elk was good but I found it to bring out the saltiness of the Elk. My wife thought the duck skin could have been rendered a little longer. Great and fun place though. Loved the casual environment.
I went on a lady date here with a fellow foodie. We wanted to sit outside on the patio but unfortunately it was raining so we sat inside. I had their tequila signature cocktail (2 of them actually!) and they were delicious! We shared the charcuterie board as an appetizer and then I got their lamb dish (pictured). I asked them to hold the cheese but they forgot =/ worse things have happened. It was pricey ($182 with tip) but worth it!
Excellent food and service. Drinks are phenomenal, the bartender Bijon was very friendly and talented.
