I love this restaurant because the food is so good. I would go there everyday if I could. The owners are amazing people who serve delicious food.

Very good. A few menu items the other locals don't offer, like the four happiness. Shrimp, chicken, beef, pork, veggies in a light brown sauce. Lean beef, delicious flavor and the same goes for the chicken and pork. The shrimp is large, delicious and cooked perfectly. Firm, and not at all chewy like some other restaurants shrimp dishes. The veggies are fresh and colorful and, as the rest of the food, cooked just right. I typically go for spring rolls over egg rolls but that wasn't an option. I ordered the egg roll with shrimp and chicken and WOW! It was crispy, and absolutely delicious. Also, I had the wonton soup. The broth is light, mild, yet flavorful, and the same goes for the wonton noodles. They are thin, more white than yellow, and not thick and chewy. The meat inside has a firmer texture, and a taste that is almost sweet. Very very good! I walked here because my roommate was using my car. I didn't have a menu so I ordered when I got there and waited on my food. There was a little boy playing peek-a-boo behind the counter. Some of his school work was hung up on the refridgerator. Very friendly family place. Nice people. Good prices. No complaints!
Sparse but good. This is the sole asian restaurant in otherwise culturally-deserted Brookline ... the family that owns it is same family that owned "Chinese on Carson" years ago and they're also related to a few other higher-profile Chinese joints around Pittsburgh. This is a real sparsely decorated/entry-level kind of chinese restaurant with the couple that runs it serving as cooks/servers and etc. the kung pao chicken is very good if over-salted. the mongolian beef is very delicious. the hot n sour soup is decent, especially when I have a cold, i'll go have a large bowl of it even if I do leave with a bad MSG-headache . they perhaps need to tone down the MSG content on everything . nothing fancy or glamourous about this place . just no-frills old-school but satisfying chinese grub.
We ordered from here twice in a week (it was one of those weeks) and both meals were hot and delicious. The shrimp lo mein and vegetable soup were so good. Will be trying other items!
I love this place! Awesome food for a super low place! Portions are huge, always have leftovers for later or the next day!!!
The shrimp fried rice was delicious!! We added egg to it. Huge portion and great price. I usually add soy sauce to mine but I didn't need to, the flavor was on point.

Tong Garden has some great dishes! I always crave their chicken lo mein. Takeout is always quick and easy.

Just moved to Brookline and ordered take out from Tong Garden and the General Tso's chicken was the best we ever had! Pork fried rice was a little bland but still good. Prices are very reasonable.
