Point Brugge is a local gem! They’re known for their mussels and frites with aioli, which are divine. I thoroughly enjoyed my grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup dipping, despite it being a bit greasy.
Short visit to Pittsburgh.
We found a good local dining place within walking distance from where we stayed. I had Carbonade Flamande, which is delicious. The dish came with fries and it was tasty. But It would be very nice if they save with egg noodles as an option. My wife got a chicken sandwich and salad. She said she enjoyed.
We had the Carbonade Flamande and the Mules Frites in white wine sauce. Food was delicious and their fries are the best I've had in a long time! Service was exceptional and the environment was laid back. Would have been 5/5 but the food came out a bit cold.
We went to Point Brugge Cafe on a Thursday around noon and it was packed! Cannot emphasize how well served we were by the waitress at that time. She tried as much as possible for my wife to navigate the menu because of gluten intolerance and even offered to change a few things to accommodate her.
The restaurant stays in the quiet neighborhood of Point Breeze. The Carbonnade Flamande was definitely a hit. I ordered the Chicken Milanese which was tasty, but have could have been a tad bigger.
Great place for brunch. The food and drinks were delicious and our waiter was very nice.
Amazing staff with amazing service! The food came out quick. We had a small table, but with teamwork from the staff and my group, we made it work. :)
Food was pretty delicious!
Only issue is, it is definitely set up café size but running like a full restaurant. It has a charm, but it can become pretty crowded and noisy (for dinner! Not sure about lunch or brunch!).
I would definitely try lunch, brunch, and more dinner items.
My husband and I were visiting Pittsburgh last weekend and stopped at Point Brugge Café for lunch. We sat outside and were waited on promptly. We shared the mussels, a burger and fries. Everything was flavorful hot and fresh. Edana, our server was all around wonderful.
Always spot on. Food is amazing, I always get the mussels and love to try their specials. The staff is generally knowledgeable and well trained. Small space but worth the wait…especially if you can get a patio seat!
Wonderful Belgian food. Lovely suburban location. Street parking can be a little difficult.
No reservations and very busy at popular days and hours. Best strategy is off hours visits.
Mussels in white wine sauce to die for. Great salads.
Just tried this place for the first time and it’s lovely! Food is well priced with good portions for your $. Our server Evana was great! She was personable, chill, friendly. I will ask for her again! We had dinner but I heard they also have a brunch so we will be back!! The indoor to outdoor seating style is nice, you go up levels so you can always have a view of outside.
They have pretty good mixed drinks (my fav. Was “The Silverman” which was a twist on a margarita) and a great selection of beers and wine. The menu is clearly Belgian with a lot of dishes with lemon and some very popular mussels (basically everyone but us ordered them). I tried the Chaud Chèvre salad and it was a generous portion with really fresh, healthy greens. You can tell the food is a point of pride because everything looked great, smelled great, and so on. My partner ordered a more traditional beef dish and he LOVED it. Kid friendly too, it’s casual and family oriented.
Overall this place is quaint, on a relatively quiet street next to some other very good restaurants. Street parking was free and easy. I highly recommend! Especially if you like mussels!
