We went there on a night before thanksgiving. So it was not particularly busy. The service from the start to end was amazing. We had the Pignoli with the house pink sauce short rib Ragout.
Pignoli is a very flavorful towards a marvelous sourness. It comes with chicken and over all a good choice. The short rib Ragout is a lot simpler taste but very light and both come in a very generous portions. I was happy with the food but I deserve 5 starts for a better taste and quality. Ambiance is not as fancy as I was expecting it given the location. Prices are reasonable
It’s is super loud. A lot of people talking so loudly. No sound dampening at all. The meatloaf covered in mushrooms was not good. No favor
The Milanese chicken was ok.
The zupppa Gamberi was salty but very good with shrimp and clams.
As a local resident, my wife and I have noticed this restaurant for some time. Last night we finally decided to give it a try. What a great stroke of luck. This place is fantastic. The restaurant is located in Crystal Cove Newport Beach. There is ample parking and easy access. As you approach the restaurant you notice the European style outside seating, the oversized umbrellas with built-in heating for an enjoyable and relaxing evening dining experience. We made a reservation for 7:45, and when we arrived and spoke with a friendly hostesses, they had our reservation and seated us immediately. The interior of the restaurant is well appointed with a Tuscan feel. The layout of the restaurant is a bit congested as there’s a few more tables in the restaurant than one would expect. The menu is outstanding with a variety of choices to satisfy even the most distinguished pallet. We were lucky enough to have Gordon as our server, totally professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the various menu selections. Unlike most restaurants the wine list is extensive, and more importantly, the wine list by the glass covers every aficionado’s taste. I ordered the lasagna, which was incredibly tasty, but could have been served at a higher temperature. My wife had the seafood risotto, which lacked a bit of creativity, and was a little fishy for my taste. Overall, we would highly recommend this restaurant.
We had a great dining experience with delicious food and prompt, friendly service on a nice large patio. Our party also enjoyed the never empty bread basket and complimentary mushroom appetizer. They only have outdoor dining available but there are umbrellas, heaters and good lighting. Pro Tip - Free corkage for up to 2 bottles Monday thru Wednesday! And be sure to make a reservation!
Food and service was excellent. Highly recommended! Atmosphere was great!
Goooooood Food, very good service.!!
Nice Atmosphere ♥️
Everything was perfect - the food (Modo Mio salad, fresh mushrooms served with the bread and eggplant parmesan) was delicious, portions were generous and service was outstanding. Can't wait to go back!
I went to Modo Mio with a friend. We both had an amazing time. I had a Caesar salad and their meat lasagna. It was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend it. Also, the ocean view was amazing.
Pretty decent Italian restaurant, we order 7 entree, 3 appetizers and 5 desserts for only $300 with tips. Food is very good and toward traditional Italian style, which is what I like. They are very busy restaurant, especially for outdoor seating, so if you in the rush this might not be you choice.
The best restaurant by the sea! I have eaten at Modo Mio so may times with family and for business. The owners and staff are very friendly and the food is amazing. The must haves are: Scaloppine Limone, Cioppino, Short Rib Ragout and the Calamaretti as an appetizer.
