The Cowgirl Hall of Fame is my favorite New York restaurant. It's an institution. One of the last surviving fantastic West Village restaurant in a neighborhood that has been decimated by greedy landlords pricing out local businesses. The staff are fun & friendly - the tex-mex menu is fab. They make the best margaritas in New York & the chargrilled catfish po-boy is to die for. One of the best spots in the city for outdoor summer casual dining...
I really don't want to tell the truth about this place because, well, I don't want all the tourists and what not from Jersey treking there. Can't us local's have one decent place left to ourselves? Here goes... am afraid that the line will be around the block all the way to the Hudson River.
The food is killer. It's the real McCoy. Down home American cuisine and you vegetarians and vegans will not leave hungry. The staff are top notch professionals and all round great folks. And a couple of them are musicians. and actors. You are supporting the arts when you eat at Cowgirl Hall of Fame. I hope they raise their pay because they might could get lured away by some other eatery.
The decor is worth the trip. Wait till you see the windows and the decorations that change with the seasons.
This is a must see in Manhattan. Over 30 years old, it had a feel of a place much older but in a good way. The place is enormous, room after room with unique decorations. the ribs were ok, better than average. The burgers 🍔 looked amazing but I didn't try one. The jalapeno poppers may have been frozen but they were yummy.
Service was a smile, seating is inside or outside in very unique tables and chairs
Came here for an early dinner which meant $10 frozen special margs. These were tasty. The chicken fried steak was a filling and tasty meal, and the side of vegetables helped balance it out. Service is friendly, especially if you are a regular. Overall good spot in the west village to hang out at.
This was a great experience, the burguer was juicy asked it for medium rare and term was spot in, even the kids loved from the kids menu the Fritos with chopped brisket and chili beans, well actually I loved to.
My ribs although were a bit dry were so flavored, be careful if you ask for the full rack that's like a Flinstones portion!
They have a great selection of beers and cocktails, if you like micheladas you'll be surprised with the ones they make in here.
Lastly but not less, I had the chance to meet Michele the owner, such a nice woman, her attentions and her staff was just awesome extremely kind, I wouldn't thing you can get this type of service in NYC without paying and arm.
This is definitely a place to visit !
I’ve had this place bookmarked for years because I love chicken fried steak and Cowgirl is the only place I could see in NYC that has it. I was not disappointed now that I’ve finally made it in for dinner. The server was super nice and they had a great selection of drinks at the bar. I was sorry I had come by myself as there were lots of appetizers I wanted to try. I will definitely be back!
Local and Fun! I only stopped for a beer for Happy Hour, but this restaurant is definitely on my must return list. I love the friendly vibe of the bar…
Friendly southern charm, great atmosphere and decor. Great menu choices, and delicious food. Shout out to the cornbread and the apple pie. Overall welcoming vibe and enjoyable evening

This place is so cozy and cute. You feel so local when eating at this restaurant. The food is great. Their menu is very diverse!! It’s always busy. I would recommend to make a reservation prior to arrival. It’s located in the West Village, Manhattan. I love the neighborhood!! ❤️💜🇺🇸💙🥰
My friends and I had a great dining experience at Cowgirl. While I'd be coming to Cowgirl for years, my friend Aaron had never dined at Cowgirl before. Our waitress Emily was engaging, entertaining, on point service, and made several menu suggestions. Sunday night dinner at Cowgirl will start being a regular thing!
We had a great dinner here with friends and family. There’s is a lot of room for bigger parties. The decor is a lot of fun. Definitely different for NYC. The food we had was all tasty. Frito pie and fried okra were same as we would have in Texas. The kids loved the mac and cheese and burger. Wife’s salad was very good. The service was good especially with a big party at dinner.
The food was AMAZING. I originally thought that this place was too expensive for its food, but when you see the quantity and QUALITY of every meal, you'll know that their worth their prices. So much food in every plate!! Both of my waiters were so sweet and kind and I had a wonderful time talking to them! The quirky style of the restaurant is so unique and definitely something that caught my eye. The food was delicious and I would 100% recommend this place to anyone in the area who's looking for food and a good time.
