We visited on a Wednesday night and it's a good job we made a reservation as people were already waiting outside (in the rain!).
First of all the venue - The restaurant itself is very small and they really cram the tables in but this makes for a fun, intimate atmosphere, especially for anyone who is celebrating a birthday when the pots and pans are banged along to a rousing rendition of 'Happy Birthday to you'!
On to the food - I had one of the specials which was spaghetti with seafood and was absolutely delicious. Having lived in Italy for a year, this was some of the best pasta I've tasted since then and you can tell it's authentically Italian. My girlfriend had the Cavatelli pasta with lamb ragu which was equally delicious. The dishes themselves are served out of saucepans which was a bit different and not sure whether I like this or not! For dessert we shared the creme brulee which was just perfect.
All the staff were extremely attentive and friendly and service was extremely efficient given how busy they were. Highly recommended if you fancy some authentic Italian cuisine in NYC.
Lovely little Italian place in soho. We came by it by chance during a weekday and they had pasta (and most of their dishes) for $10. The waiters are all Italian and very friendly. The place is very small, it accommodates around 20 people. The food was great, I would definitely recommend this place!
Food here was amazing. The ravioli a ragu was amazing. It was literally one of the best pastas I ever had anywhere I've been. Make sure you order the canolli. It was also the best I ever had. There's very little room, so make a reservation and be ready to be touching the party you come with. The servers are really nice and funny. I would really recommend this place.
Very authentic Italian food. It is so hard to find real authentic Italian food in the USA so I was surprised to find this place. I had the ravioli and you could taste they were made fr ok m scratch and the filling was fresh. Also the bruschetta and the lasagna were perfect.
Nice restaurant with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Calamari was lovely and spot on. Pasta was good, but not great - perhaps just an off plate, a little under cooked. I would however give them another try again.
I made reservations at this restaurant a couple of weeks in advance and I am glad I did! I didn't realize how small the restaurant actually is. It was probably no larger than my entire living room! There about 8 tables, some pushed together, some not depending on the arrangement of diners. Very cozy! We came here because of the Yelp and Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed! We were celebrating my future son-in-law's birthday and I wanted a really nice restaurant that served delicious food. I had the Cavatelli ai Funghi Porcini (Cavatelli with Porcini Mushrooms) with the gluten-free pasta. It was amazing! Even my non-gluten free family said it was delicious! Everyone was very happy with their meal selection. The service was spot-on and everyone helped each other out. I would return in a heartbeat!
I rate their food 5/5. And in consideration of the lunch special and its very reasonable price, I’d give this place an exceptional 6/5!
One rarely finds good seafood in the United States of No Fresh Food (including this terribly expensive city), but Piccola Cucina is an exception. Yes, it can’t match the very best in Italy but it’s close to the very good ones, especially in consideration of its humble price.
The service is also outstanding. I have always been very pleased with the waiters and waitresses. To be honest I was displeased once because the waiter seated fitst two ladies who came after me. But upon my complaint, the waiter made multiple attempts to make it right for me. Impressed by his great attitude, I ended up leaving a large tip and will definitely be coming back again and again in the years to come.
The name says it all... this kitchen probably has a total of 8m2 ... but the working space for the cooks is more in the range of 4m2 😳!!
These 4!! guys are real magicians !!
Food was delicious and staff friendly.
Make sure you come early or make a reservation because there’s only 30 seats.
Definitely try this place if you’re in Manhattan
Cute cozy little Italian spot with a very fun vibe. The portions are huge and decently priced. We had the mushroom cavatelli and the pasta all’s Norma. The pasta was a bit too al dente for us but it was still good.
I'm Italian and you can trust me when I say that here you can find authentic Italian food.
We order Carpaccio di Manzo, a small Burrata with Speck. Orecchiette with Shrimp & Burrata and Tagliatelle with seafood.
The food was amazing!!!
