Perhaps the most authentically French of any restaurant in New York, Benoit was a mostly enjoyable experience. We had the chicken for two which was delicious. The pate to start was also very good. The profiteroles were slightly disappointing as the ice cream was separate from the pastry. The tasteless French bread was a big disappointment, the green beans were very plain. Service in the dining room was particularly good with a pleasant waiter who made excellent recommendations on the wine. One minor gripe is they asked to clear our plates three times when we clearly weren’t finished. Very major gripe though was the use of the loathsome device where you “pick a tip” when you pay your bill. To have this at a restaurant of this purported quality was frankly insulting. We got a drink at the bar before and in addition to not being able to transfer the bar bill to the table got the loathsome device there as well. So we got a double dose of being made to feel cheap if we wanted to tip less than their 18% minimum choice. Alain Ducasse really do you need this?

I had dinner at Benoit, and that was a very enjoyable experience. I really liked the restaurant's decor as it reminds you of classic French bistros. The service was top notch, and our server's recommendations were spot-on. All dishes except for one were nicely presented and perfectly cooked. That one dish that I'm talking about was Confit Halibut. Even though it was nicely presented, it was way overcooked. Despite that one bad dish, I wouldn't hesitate to visit Benoit again.

Benoit is a lovely French restaurant with delicious food. The staff and service was great the night we were there. We love that they serve delicious bread. They really paid attention to the presentation of our food. We were very impressed. I would suggest a reservation to make sure you get a seat.

Honestly, how can Alain Ducasse disappoint? But, this is beyond just his name. It has a wonderful neighborhood vibe, and great employees that give wonderful service. I shouldn't even have to say, but the food is incredible. Definitely put this on your list, it's some of the best French bistro fare in NYC!

Have eaten at Benoit at least a dozen times over the years. It's by far the best French Cafe style restaurant in Midtown Manhattan. The food and service have always been amazing, I also love dining in the bar area. If you're looking for a French Bistro type place in Midtown, it doesn't get any better than Benoit.

It was my first dining experience at Benoit and it was amazing to say the least. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. It was reminiscent of the bistros in Paris and I was beyond happy to dine in such a spot. It was my parents wedding anniversary so we went out for a family dinner and ordered some bottles to celebrate. The sommelier Paul was the absolute best and gave us some great recommendations for the night which included the Frederic Savart L'Ouverture - Blanc de Noirs Brut - and the amazing 2018 La Grande Rue by Domaine Nicole Lamarche. To start, we ordered the escargot and foie gras. For our mains, we had the roasted duck, skirt steak, and roast chicken. The food was all top notch, but the skirt steak was the shock of the night as it was incredibly tender and well seasoned. We ended off the nigh with the pistachio souffle, but was happily surprised when we were served some complimentary creme brulee and madeleines. All in all, great food, great service. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a French restaurant in Manhattan. Left extremely full and we can't wait to go again when we're back in New York!

From the moment you walk in you know you’re in for good things. Make sure you book in advance. We asked to share a starter of the onion soup to save room and was informed they will split the portion for us… a complete delight. The steaks (skirt and fillet) were our mains with the confit veg and green beans with pickled shallots… brilliant (although word of working the peppered fillet and sauce are fire hot so if you don’t like spicy go for the skirt. Final flourish for us was a citrus tart and a chartreuse each. Yellow is sweeter and green much for powerful. The wine we selected was the Château Corbin; very very nice. Last thing to mention is the impeccable service. Water glasses never empty and regular check in for wait staff to ensure everything is perfect. I write this review in the restaurant, as the bill arrives. Having forgot to mention the complimentary cheese ball and bread and butter on arrival, as if we’d not quite had enough a fresh from the oven sweet Madeleine was offered to us from the oven tray. Oh my god, delight yet again. We absolutely loved this place, it has been our best meal in New York and as regular visitors to France and food capital Lyon, we rate this the best French restaurant we have eaten at in the US.

This was a great find. Authentic French bistro with excellent food and French wine. The bar tender was very knowledgeable as we're other staff. Had the french onio soup, croque monsieur, and profiteroles. With a lovely pinor noir.

I appreciate every one of their team who hosted, cooked, served, managed, and washed up on Thanksgiving. They provided me one of the best turkey meals I've had. The fois gras roulade was good, but the dark meat was life changing. The prix fixe was a good value at $95pp and the staff was attentive. Only downside was the very high noise level when the dining room was full.

We had a great time here. The roasted duck is very impressive and the beef tartare is chewy too.
