Had a group of eight people. We were all very pleased. A plus cuisine for B price. It's a husband and wife who seems to be in charge of everything . Consequently it's not fast service but every plate was warm. A very pleasant dining experience.

Exquisite, delicious, and expertly prepared Guatemalan food. Expect the unexpected and leave very satisfied and happy. We loved the elotes, guacamole, dobladas, and chuchitos as our appetizers. Our entrees for our party of five were: Pepian (chicken breast served in an out of this world pumpkin seed sause), Kak'ik (lean turkey cubes in a red chili sauce - perfect for those on a clean, Paleo diet), Carnitas (fried pork pieces with handmade corn tortillas and several sauces and garnishes to go with it), and Steak Catalina's with a pickled beet relish that we just LOVED!! All of the dishes were delicious and our party of five enjoyed everything. The restaurant also has vegan and vegetarian items - the kitchen is very accomodating in this respect. Since we ordered several appetizers some of us in our group couldn't finish their dinner entree so we did have to ask for a takeout box. And guess what? Not only is the food five stars, five diamonds, but their to go containers and drink cups are biodegradable and compostable! Talk about being eco friendly! Not only do you feel so good eating this delicious, very healthy food but you feel so good that this restaurant cares about the environment as well! We are DEFINITELY coming back and leaving room for dessert next time! Give this restaurant a try and prepare to be blown away by unique, authentic Guatemalan food.

Very quaint, lovely restaurant. Server was very polite and friendly. My first time eating Guatemalan food and I was very pleased. Best fresh squeezed lemonade ever too! 😊

Great food and friendly staff. The chef/owner took our order and then cooked us one of the best/freshest meals I've had in NOLA. I will be back to this place on the reg. Grest addition to uptown

For an appetizer we got the chicken dobladas. Straight 🔥. Very good appetizer. It's served on a bed of shredded lettuce. I would go back just to eat two servings of this. For an appetizer, I had the pescado which was trout (rainbow, I think). It's super tasty and presented well. It came with a salad, and a verde and roja salsa. The person I was dining with had the turkey stew. I had a few bites of it and I immediately regretted my decision to get the pescado. The stew was a real treat. It had such a complex flavor and it was hearty.

Fabulous experience. Chef came right out and explained options for GF and vegetarian incase. I personally had and would recommend the ceviche, and the churasco. Both were meticulously prepared and the fresh ingredients were noticeable. I would recommend Catalino’s to anyone. Period.

Amazing food! Amazing service! Family owned home made Latin food. This is definitely a must try NOLA restaurant. I'll definitely be going back very soon!

Stopped in for a late afternoon snack. Impressed with the quality of the food, all fresh and tasty. The restaurant is beautifully decorated...interesting mix of light fixtures. Large colorful art works by a local Mexican artist. Works are signed Leal Art. Andre's Hoyes, our server recommended Ceviche and Dobladas. Both were very well seasoned allowing the flavors of the ingredients to shine. Our food was delivered by Chef Hugo Vasquez who is from Guatemala. He was interested and proud of the restaurant. Currently they do not have a liquor license. You are welcome to BYOB. We had a virgin lime Margarita and a mango fresca.
