Just look at the ratings. GW Fins is always rated good for a reason, a great number of people really enjoy the food and the service. The GW fins restaurant is a little different concept from most of the other French Quarter places. Their dishes are unique from the traditional Creole food in many other places. Very good, always fresh and very well thought out menu, combined with very good service. We highly recommend this place, but make reservations at least two weeks in advance. They tend to stay very busy.
Difficult to find something that is not great here. The food was amazing and I cannot details which one was the best because it was so good. I am a steak guy. I eat steak for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And I absolutely loved their fish. It was incredible.
The service from Noelle was very professional, very friendly. This is the perfect place for every occasion. Obviously the atmosphere of the bourbon Street add to the excellence of this restaurant.
I would like to add something else.
Ernest brought some goldfish crackers to my son between the appetizer and the main course. If you are the manager/owner, I would be glad to have an employee like that who can observe, anticipate and make the right move at the right time. - we came 10/28 (table of 7)
Fantastic service, food, and ambiance! Really enjoyed the Scalibut, which felt like a really unique dish. The dirty rice and collard greens were also a surprise hit at the table. It took a while to get seated (even with a reservation) but once seated service was well-paced and friendly. Would definitely go back!
5/5 seafood restaurant in New Orleans core. Great service and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and continued to bring out delicious biscuits during the meal. The lobster bisque was amazing. Expensive but worth the cost.
I come here for every birthday and special event in our family. the food is always consistently excellent and the service is always great. they validate your parking at a nearby paid parking garage. The atmosphere is intimate the tables are good size, especially the booths or the round tables.
the staff is super friendly and manager is welcoming and personable. there are many good restaurants in downtown area, this one is my favorite. you don't have to take my word for it. the chef won chef of the year for a few years in a row. make sure you make reservations way ahead of time because they fill up fast.
even through super rare, but if you were have any concerns, the staff/ management handles it like true professionals, you really feel like VIP when you dine here. i recommend this restaurant to all of my friends, associates and business partners, local and visiting.
if you're visiting or living in the area, treat yourself to an extraordinary and special experience. lobster dumpling for appetizer is a must. not to mention they give you free lobster biscuits.
I took a few colleagues from out of state here for dinner, but it was my first time here as well. It was FABULOUS! Service was fantastic and my dinner, the swordfish, was truly one of a kind. Not to mention the best espresso martini I've ever had! (I've had lots) ;)
I'm already planning a date night with my husband so I can share the experience with him.
I wish I could give more stars, because we were with a group of 8 and I chose this restaurant.
Out of the group I was the only one that truly enjoyed my meal. My table ordered every single appetizer, and dessert which we shared. Each person ordered their own entree. I had the strawberry salad it was delicious and fresh! For entree I had the cast iron chicken with gnocchi. My husband had the gulf shrimp pasta he was not impressed. The salty malty dessert however was delicious and a table favorite!
The service was lacking and felt rushed, our server was distracted. It was a Sunday night, and the place was packed, so I can understand, but my guests were irritated because she didn’t bring certain things ( like water, or a drink) and when she would come back they would have to ask again and she still would forget.
The restaurant as I said was packed, and it was very loud. The food plating and presentation was impressive. I had picked this restaurant with high hopes, but my pick ended up being the least favorite of the group.
Truly delicious seafood dishes. The complimentary biscuits! Lobster dumplings, tuna tartare, BBQ shrimp without the work peeling to eat, redfish cheek, ceviche, all fabulous! Excellent service and attention from the welcome at front entry to our super server and assistants. Even a hello from manager. We sit in the bar to enjoy cocktails, wine and dinner because it’s comfy and not a big dining room feel. Always on our priority list to have the best seafood dishes when in New Orleans. 💕 💕🥂
Excellent service, great atmosphere, delicious, fresh food. The crispy pork belly was the best of all the apps. Lobster dumplings were very good, and they serve the most rediculously delicious biscuits, it was like eating air. Scalibit was very good, flaky freash halibut topped with infused scallops....taste is incredible. Everything we had was delicious and drink are excellent too.
Went with friends celebrating their 36th anniversary. We knew our waiter who made this a wonderful evening. Be sure to make a reservation. I've been wanting to go for a while since I have only heard good things from friends. I'm glad I went and will go back. The staff handled the crowd very well. All at the table enjoyed our selections, my only issue was my entree and side were only what I can describe as warm.
