Have walked past this place easily 50x. The inside is a pleasant surprise and the menu is expansive enough. The food was good but not great and a couple items were prepared a little different than requested (rare instead of medium well, sauce not on the side) Would eat here again but probably not first choice.

We had been meaning to try this place for a while. We were not disappointed. I had their salmon risotto special, and my mate had the fried chicken. We both also had drinks that were original and we'll made. Everything from the food, beverages, service, and locale were top notch at an affordable price. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

I’m sitting here after my meal, still at the table writing this. It is so good. The fried chicken is so delicious. The potatoes, fluffy and delightful. The biscuit, freshly baked. The Risky Sour and Uptown are both exceptional. Adding it to my list for a repeat visit.

Stopped in for happy hour. The waitress/bartender seemed nice enough and seated us at the window. We ordered a couple of tacos and two drinks. The margarita was made with Limeaid, which we didn't realize at first. It was shudder-inducing. Worse though was the shrimp taco. We love seafood but the incredible fishy smell and taste was revolting, as if the shrimp had gone bad and they decided to serve it anyway. We eat tried a bite and nearly vomited. We mentioned to the server and she shrugged and charged us full price. Edit: We appreciate this response from management, which is far more than we received when we visited. We'll try to make it back and see you all again.

Brunch and drinks amazing and on point. I'm only sad they didn't have the pineapple or watermelon drinks when I went. I was still spoiled with the best pina colada I've ever had. Get these drinks to go and you will seriously make a 100 people jealous as you walk down magazine.

Everyone that contributes to the great food that comes from the kitchen bakery or bar is a local of the area! The food is made fresh! Strange mix but I had the biscuits and gravy and the crab cakes! Separate plates of course . My boyfriend had a delicious Bloody Mary and I had a mimosa. Be willing to wait patiently to enjoy the lovely meal that you will.

Stopped in for brunch on a whim because it looked nice and there wasn’t anyone in there. Then from the moment my friend and I sat down, our expectations were surpassed. A woman who seemed to be the owner brought us our waters and explained the specials then the waitress came and got our drink orders. Soon after we sat down, the place filled up, so luck was just on our side. Get the mimosa—I don’t like them but was enticed by the “special ingredient.” It was incredible, whatever it was (I think maybe orange liqueur). Then I got an a la carte breakfast which was a little pricey but I knew what I was getting into and everything was better than it looked (which is saying something). My friend got the classic eggs benedicts and loved it. My one constructive criticism is a stronger, fresher coffee would’ve been lovely. It was fine, but the superlative quality of everything else made the okayness of the coffee salient.

The cocktails are delicious and thoughtfully original; the food is a top hits version of New Orleans cuisine with plenty of flavor and excellent taste. The staff is friendly with Leslie the bartender being most welcoming. Nothing standard about the Standard Eating House - this is top notch, do yourself a favor and enjoy a great meal there.

Great cocktails here, the bloody Mary is something to behold. One of the many places on Magazine St. Didn't get a chance to dine here, but spyed a few dishes and they looked impressive. Average cocktail price $10-12 USD.

Such a gem. Came in on Tuesday and they had a Taco Tuesday menu. The crawfish tacos were so good! The owners were so wonderful, welcoming, and even let a friend jam and sing on the piano. Drinks were wonderful as well. Great place for a more quiet evening - they also said they have a killer brunch!
