My husband took me out for my birthday dinner tonight. Its a blizzard so the place was empty. Food was so delicious. South american food is my favorite. Weve tried many restaurants in minneapolis for colombian and ecuadorian food. This place wins. Bandeja paisa i think is what we ordered and shared. So delicious. Everything cooked perfect. Even the white rice was flavorful. Drinks delicious also. Price was awesome as well. For what we drank and ordered. Our server was awesome. Jasmin (unsure on spelling). She was so friendly! Such a great dinner and nice place. Will definitely come back!!!!

Came here because it’s my sisters family’s go to spot for karaoke and good Ecuadorian food. The best part? We stayed for hours for karaoke. My nieces are known by other regulars and staff are so used to them, it was such a fun environment! The food was also amazing. I can’t recall what my plate was called but I would for sure order it again. We also enjoyed a yummy fruit drink, I believe mine was passion fruit. Dessert was tiramisu and tres leches for our table and we liked them both. The worst part? I honestly can’t complain. We were there for literally hours and hours and never once did staff complain and they constantly checked with us if we wanted anything else. Our table shared the mic with another regular customer and the atmosphere was truly welcoming and we had a blast. I also really liked that this restaurant is huge and where they do karaoke is in a separate room. It does have an open entrance but it still is away from others who might not want to be sitting in that loud area. We’re planning on coming again with more family!
Food is good, not extraordinary but good. Never had Ecuadorian food so good exposure. Kind of a mix of Puerto Rico and Mexican. The soup of the day was amazing though. Service is very good especially for it being very busy and 1 hour before close. Place is a bit run down and a bit pricey
We visited La Colonia restaurant for the first time today, and we loved it! It was close to the Strike Theater, where we were seeing a show. We visited on a Friday, around 6:00, and it wasn't super busy. My husband and I ordered a plate to share, as well as an appetizer. We first got the Empanadas de Carne, which were amazing! It came with a wonderful, spicy sauce! The texture was perfect, and they were served hot! We split an entree, the Lomito Saltado. Wow! Wow! Wow! It was so good! A great combination of ingredients and flavors! It entered our Clean Plate Club! The staff was super friendly and kind. We will visit again with family and friends!!
Went here for the first time to watch Colombia v Brazil and had a great experience! Food was delicious (had the Seco de Pollo, empanadas, and the llapingachos) and filling. The atmosphere was great for the match and our server was excellent; my beer was never empty!

The place is a hidden secret!!! Very delicious food. They have wine by the bottle and a bar 🍻.Very great customer service experience. Don't forget to grab a cocktail...🔥🔥🌞☀️
The food is good. As a colombian the bandeja paisa is close to the real one, except for the beans. However, the atmosphere of the place is not great nor the service. Is kind of busy during lunch and they don't have a lot of servers so we had to wait for a while for our food. Not too kid friendly either
The food was good and had good flavor. But who ever cooked the chicharron definitely needs a little more practice I would rather throw it and use as a boomerang or a dog treat. I would definitely come back though to try a few other dishes.
Delicious food and nice service! We started with the soup of the day which was a hearty chicken vegetable. Also enjoyed empanadas and then the main attraction: Bandeja Paisa. The presentation and flavors were wonderful. Generous portions too.
This was DELICIOUS. The coconut sauce on the cod was so rich and the meats in the beef and chicken stews just fall apart. The tripe flavor was a little much for me, but everything else was top notch.
Really great food we go here a few times per year. The beef empanadas are delicious and sobreborriga with creole sauce has wonderful flavor.
