I was told to come here as it has some of the best sushi outside of Japan. I was not disappointed! The staff is great, the food is excellent. If you have the chance to do omakase - definitely give it a try! A regular birthday spot for me.

Excellent food, well prepared and simply presented. Quiet, enjoyable music in the background, making it so we could have quiet civilized conversation instead of yelling across the table. Unobtrusive servers who were nice, helpful, and let us know exactly what we needed to know with every course. Highly recommend the sake pairing - experiencing how the food changed the sake was astonishing; beautifully paired. Their homemade soy sauce was awesome.

What a wonderful authentic Japanese Zen experience. I came to love Kaiseki from my time living in Japan and was thrilled to find a place in Msp to experience this rich tradition. Everything was perfect. The greeting from the Sushi chefs, the staff, the service and the incredible deliciousness of each course. My only suggestion is to not sweep away the plates so quickly. One time I was still luxuriating in the taste of the tuna when the server asked if she could take my plate. Small detail but important to the experience. This restaurant has multiple formats and offers special experiences. This is my second time to this building (as it is now - it has been a Japanese restaurant for decades). Thank you for making this special occasion so special. If my friends from Tokyo ever come to visit, I will bring them here. Arigato 🙏

Everything was so delicious! I really appreciate their NA drink options, they actually have interesting flavors. The staff were incredible. I love all of their ceramics and the experience. It's a really nice and quiet restaurant. I had the omakase matsu. Everything was so fresh and clean tasting! The wagyu a5 just melted in your mouth. The egg custard warmed me up, the flavors had so much depth to it.

We really loved the atmosphere and professionalism of the wait staff. The food itself was incredible, well worth the price in my opinion. We did the middle teir dinner ($105 per person) and we enjoyed every bite. Some dishes not shown in the pictures.

We did the Kaiseki Furukawa experience. I loved how small the seating space was, maybe eight people total so it was very intimate. However, we went with another couple and had a great evening sharing and delighting in our tasting of 10 courses. I did the wine and sake pairing, and it was interesting and thoughtful, and the waiters were all excellent at their interactions and descriptions of everything we were eating and drinking. I know the menu changes seasonally, and it felt like a huge honor to try some of the rare dishes that Furukawa presented to us with his sous chefs. You can tell that he loves what he does, cares for each plate, and there is such a wide variety of everything from mushrooms to fish to sacred broth. He even sent us home with extra rice balls that were left over from our experience. I haven’t even been downstairs to the main restaurant, but I can tell you I will definitely be going back to this.

The omakase was amazing. They gave us 2 hot towels to start then tea melon water and more. It’s pricey but if your looking for a good Japanese experience you should try it out if your visiting the twin cities.

Exquisite atmosphere with great food. We had the Matsu menu, which was $145 per person because of the nigiri, and that was definitely the highlight because the fish and the wagyu were fresh and tender. Some other dishes like the chawanmushi, I have had better ones for much cheaper prices in China. Therefore I will say that the price vs. quality imbalance is still quite there, even if Japanese food is in general expensive here in the United States. It is an excellent place for a one-time experience, but that was about it for me.

If I could give a million stars I would. We had the large omakase to celebrate SO birthday. We felt so taken care of sitting at the sushi bar from start to finish. Every dish was a a new flavor adventure and then once we hit the sushi part it was like fireworks. I have never had better sushi in my life (and this includes fancy places on the coasts of the US). The details were so delightful. SO had the sake pairing and was thrilled with the variety and pairing, I had two of their house old fashioneds. We had the best experience, right down to the Polaroid photo taken and given to us at the end. Oh and the valet service was fabulous. Thank you for such a lovely evening!

My friend and I had the Take menu and experience. We really enjoyed sitting at the bar in front of the Sushi Chef, watching them create the incredible foods we ate and chatting with them about their background and the food they prepared for us. The food was exceptional, high quality ingredients and simple yet dynamic and with depth of flavor. The cocktails were excellent, too. I had the Sotoku, Vesper, and Kado old fashioned, all of which I recommend (especially the old fashioned). We also loved the ambiance of the upstairs dining and whisky bar, which were quiet and intimate. We both thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and highly recommend it!
