Taco Bell

Staff are friendly. If you don’t have a car/plan to walk up then don’t come to this location. Their lobby is closed. Ordering in person is inconvenient and you have to wait outside due to being short staffed. Location is primarily drive thru only. I would give it a five stars if I could go inside to order. It’s one of my go to spots for my lunch break normally.

Carter is the kindest worker I’ve ever come across in a drive through. The food was great and it came out very quickly.

Did I just give a Taco Bell location five stars? Yes, yes I did. Here is the reason why: When I pulled up to this Scottsdale Taco Bell, I was brain-dead tired. It was roughly 9:00 at night (don't quote me--brain-dead tired, remember?). There was the most massive, menacing strip-mall church I have ever seen looming in the background. For a brief moment, I thought I was in some bizarre, waking nightmare. But then I pulled through the Taco Bell drive-thru and up to the second window to pick up my mobile order: a highly customized Protein Power Bowl and an iced coffee, black (see brain-dead tired above). You see, I have food allergies (celiac disease and severe lactose intolerance), so I am both gluten and dairy free by medical necessity. My Taco Bell dinner order is thus always the same, always submitted through the mobile app or in-store kiosk, and never, ever perfect...until now. When that big, brown paper bag was handed to me last night, the Protein Power Bowl inside was *exactly* what I ordered: chicken, seasoned rice, black beans (extra), lettuce (easy), and tomatoes. It was a fast food miracle, right under the watchful eye of that creepy, creepy church and its eery red glow! The crew at the Scottsdale Rd and Thunderbird Rd Taco Bell got it juuuuuust right, and every bite was hot, fresh, and delicious to boot! Amen!

Not sure what it is about this location, but the cashiers are always in a great mood. Food is Taco Bell quality, but the staff make this spot what it is. Sure, there's a little guilt sitting in the drive thru staring at the salad place you could have gone to, but I would say that the level of stoke you get at the window is worth the extra calories.
