Ate here for the first time yesterday for brunch and we were very pleased!! We ordered the chicken & waffles as well as the biscuit and gravy with brisket dish and both were AMAZING. Very flavorful and generously seasoned (which we are into!). Our server was kind, pleasant, and friendly. We went on a Tuesday around 11:00 am and was seated right away. Would definitely recommend this place!
First time here, and I truly enjoyed myself. We were celebrating my sister's bday. Our server, bless her heart, kept forgetting things that we were asking for. Overall, it's a really nice place. Friday - Sunday, I am told, is when the live DJ is there. The placing was packed and bumping great music on a Saturday afternoon!! No substitutions allowed, and a party of 6 or more I automatically has gratuity added in the final bill.
I have been celebrating 🎉 my birthday all month and decided to go back to Sugar Jam. I ordered a Mimosa which was good. I ordered the Shrimp and Crab with grits. I took away a star because the shrimp weren't deveined. They apologized and they gave me more crab balls to replace the shrimp. I enjoyed it and the atmosphere was very lively. I went when they opened and there was a line but most had reservations. I got seated at the bar within 10 minutes of opening and everyone was very friendly.
Went for our first time yesterday, the service was fast and SO friendly with the server being knowledgeable about menu items and making great recommendations! Nice clean open atmosphere! The mimosas (we had the Peach and AppleJack) were great. We all got different brunch dishes an all were fresh, and so flavorful! We had the Salmon Croquettes and grits, Brisket and Biscuits n Gravy and French Toast & Chicken. We all loved our food and highly recommend Sugar Jam!
The best French toast we have ever had, not too sweet. The bourbon maple syrup is so smooth and pairs well with the chicken tenders. Coating on them is delicious. One chicken tender alone is so filling, and they give you three!! The biscuit is huge, soft and fluffy, tastes homemade. Potatoes were also delicious, reminded me of seasoned jojo’s. The brisket was okay, not as much flavor. We will be back to try the shrimp and grits, beignets, and the bacon, it looked so good, thick cut. FYI it can get noisy, but we appreciated the whole experience!
I really enjoyed my visit to the Sugar Jam!! It was a great atmosphere and vibe. There was a DJ that was playing a good variety of music. Even got up out my seat to dance with "Sugar Daddy" a few times. The food was delicious!!! Staff was very attentive as well. Whenever I'm back in Phoenix this will be one of my must go to places.
Very dope experience! It was my first time, so I didn't know, but you should definitely have a reservation so you can make sure you get seating quickly. We ended up at the bar, which was great. The service was phenomenal and the food...omg! *Chef's Kiss* There was a DJ and he was a vibe, too! I'll definitely go back, next time I visit Phoenix!
We made reservations for our second visit to Sugar Jam. The food was on point. Our group of 8, an infant and a toddler were seated behind the DJ. The music was amped too high making it difficult for conversations and our little ones tender ears. I strongly recommend this place and having reservations is a plus.
This place is a vibe. I do recommend you make a reservation or you will be turned away. Be prepared for your sides to come out before the meal. If I could change anything it would be that. Other than that enjoy yourself cause the DJ will make sure you do.
Ordered... Fried lobster creole shrimp and crab grits with a side of eggs and chicken links. The French toast meal with a side of hotlinks. Strawberry jalapeño margarita, Pineapple jalapeño margarita and 2 jolly rancher shooters.
My girlfriend and I visited here this past Saturday. It was my first time and I enjoyed it greatly!! The atmosphere was great, from the decor to the dj and the service. I ordered a strawberry mimosa, the shrimp with grits with eggs and crab, bisquits with jam, and the salmon croquettes. The salmon croquettes were very dry, but the rest of my food was delicious! I tried bits of food from my girlfriends, and the chicken tenders, grits, and French toast were all good also. The fried fish was a bit salty that day. I will definitely be back to try their other selections!
