Had a wonderful family dinner to celebrate a birthday. Got there a bit early and sat at the bar where Fernando mixed up some 'magic' for us. We all had the chef's tasting menu with vine pairings. Surprisingly everyone agreed the vegetarian tasting stole the show, so original and flavorful -even the 'carnivores' agreed.
Wines pairings were nice but we'd just get a bottle of a favorite if we do this again. A Uber is a must with the wine pairings-hearty pours!
Went here for anniversary with my girlfriend! Low key location, restaurant was surrounded by local art galleries. They called the day before to confirm our reservation, asked for any dietary restrictions, and if they was for a special occasion.
Upon arrival the gave us complimentary celebratory champagne.
Ambiance was perfect for a date. Music was quiet enough to carry a conversation and lights were dim to You can actually see your date and food haha
Food was amazing. Scallop Crudo, Steak taretare & Steak Frites were the highlights of the night. The sake blackberry cobbler was one of the more inventive desserts have had in a while especially the pepper crème anglaise.
Pacing of meal was great. We ordered ala carte but they timed our dishes where it felt like a pseudo tasting menu experience. Our server took good care of us, never had an empty glass.
Overall a great place for a nice intimate date. Wish I took better photos! Highly recommend
Went for the brunch deal and my birthday! Was incredible how delicious each item was. You are greeted with a welcome drink and the most soft croissant with a strawberry butter that is out of this world! I got the pork tostada which the pork melted in your mouth. My friend got the soup and said it’s a great vegetarian option. Next we are the scallops which had big flavor! Highly recommend! Last we ended with steak and eggs which was delicious! It’s been a long time since I had a great meal! Highly recommend for the food, ambiance, and service!
One of the best tasting menus I've ever had -- and definitely the best food I've had in the Scottsdale area. I know the look of this place is a bit of an eclectic mixed bag, but the food and service are top notch. That oyster chowder we started with and bread pudding we ended with were 2 of my favorite dishes just on their own. Yes it’s a little pricy at $120 per person for the chefs tasting and $100 for wine pairings — but I feel like that’s pretty standard in this city these days.
Excellent food and service. Everything was delicious! We ordered off the a la carte menu: NY strip with truffle fries, jumbo lump crab, Korean beef short rib buns, and miso curry halibut. Highly recommend!
This place is a new favorite for special nights, celebrations, or a fancy evening to splurge on an experience!
I went for the tasting menu and my husband did the same and added the wine pairing. The whole experience and chef-curated plates made a night to remember. Everything was so flavorful and really walked you through different culinary techniques and profiles. Each plate and tasting was well worth it. My favorite item was the lobster tagliatelle - the lobster with the umami flavors blended wonderfully with the homemade pasta! The pasta was meaty and soaked up the garlic and butterfly goodness!
The ambiance and service felt high class but not stuck up! This was a big bonus because the service we had was phenomenal. Moses and team did a beautiful job of making sure we were taken care of. I really enjoyed the experience they provided as one team!

Sel's Restaurant was the perfect place to celebrate my 40th birthday with my girl friends. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome. They were so accommodating and professional, going above and beyond to make sure our night was extra special.
The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and plentiful! Every dish was cooked perfectly and presented with such care. We shared a selection of dishes from the menu, each one better than the last. The variety of flavors ensured that everyone had something they could enjoy, even those with dietary restrictions.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting. The decor was modern yet cozy, allowing for a relaxed evening for catching up with friends without feeling rushed or hurried. The music playing in the background helped to create a pleasant ambiance for our meal.
Overall, it was an amazing experience that I won't forget anytime soon. Sel's Restaurant provided everything we needed for a fantastic night out - great food, wonderful service and an inviting atmosphere - all at an affordable price! I highly recommend them as a dining spot if you're looking for an unforgettable evening!
Found this restaurant when looking for a place to take my Mom for her 80th birthday. So glad we chose Sel. The atmosphere, food, and service were all exceptional. This place is a great example of the difference between having dinner and dining.
We chose the tasting nenu. The food was rich and flavorful. It was hard to believe the quality of the tuna at a restaurant in the desert. We can't wait for the menu to change so we can try some more different fantastic dishes. U would encourage you to try the wine tasting with the menu. All of the items were expertly paired with each course to bring out the different flavors.
Had the Chef’s Tasting Menu and it was phenomenal. From the amuse bouche all the way to the final plate (I had the Maine diver scallops) it was just perfect. The right amount with portions, the taste of each dish was sublime (the carrot and ginger soup was incredible) and as each course came it only got better and better. Kudos to chef Branden for a phenomenal first time experience at Sel.
Superb dining in a comfortable setting. We did their tasting menu and every item was unique, delicious and carefully crafted. Excellent cocktails as well. We were even greeted by the chef during our meal and overall, the staff was absolutely fantastic. I hope to come again soon!
