Portions are definitely generous. Service was excellent. Food came out quickly, and was pretty tasty. More salt/seasoning on the pork chops would have helped a bit. The philly cheesesteak was good, but could have used more seasoning on the steak as well. We will be back to try other items off their huge menu.
Great first experience!! Fast service! Delicious food! Friendly staff goes above and beyond!! Liked the menudo but would've preferred without the hominy (started Keto). I requested more tripe than corn and our waitress went out of her way to give me an extra side of tripe by adding to my bowl! Pleasantly surprised! The Monterey omelette was also delicious (keto friendly)! I'd definitely come back to try something new!
Huge portions for reasonable prices. I could have fed a small family with my breakfast. Everything was good. Hash browns were excellent, omelette was huge, chicken fried steak was tender. Swedish pancakes were a little more rubbery than I expected but flavor was good. Regular pancakes were fluffy. Service was great, very attentive and frequent coffee refills offered. Worth the drive. :)
Great breakfast stop. Friendly staff and comfortable seating. Chicken Fried Steak was above average and bacon was great.
Looove this cute little diner! Just discovered it today... its over 60 years old! Amazing! Furthermore... they do huevos rancheros style eggs with hashbrowns... the best! 🙏🥳🥳
Great breakfast. Service was a little rough, had to wait to be seated . Servers weren’t as attentive. Chalked it up to being really busy on a Sunday. Food was really good , for that will return.
I was fighting with my husband the fifth time today, since I forgot about the other four times I fought with him, when I was reminded that it is our anniversary today , to which I screeched at him , raising a butter knife with my heavily stenched foot, to which he fluttered his eyelids to a deep REM sleep, since he is 85, but immediately peeled open his eyes realizing he was in danger , and took me here to this cute diner, to which we ate while he reminisced his time in the Vietnamese war
We wanted to have breakfast at a restaurant we've never visited. So we chose Southern Kitchen and it was awesome neighborhood find!
Without reading any reviews, we wanted to experience it first hand. We arrived around 8 am on a Sunday and 75% of the booths and tables were occupied.
After ordering, we received our order within 15 mins. The portions are huge!! It looked more than 3 eggs to make the omelette. We ordered the Monterey and Supreme omelette. Both were delicious!😋 The country potatoes were cooked perfectly, tender inside and crunchy on the outside.
The table service was quick and the staff were friendly and sociable.
Parking is in the rear of the restaurant and there's only 2 disabled parking in front. We're definitely be back!
Awesome tasty Hawaiian Waffle. And you know how hard it is to find a place that has a good breakfast! Staff is friendly, coffee is hot and tasty!
