Amazingly delicious food from breakfast to dinner! Their deli’s atmosphere is family oriented. Their staff are friendly and great servers. I highly recommend it! P.S. Their chocolate chip cookies are heavenly!!
My boyfriend took me here for their Valentine’s Day special. WOW!! So delicious and so much food! The lobster and steak was cooked to perfection, along with his lamb shank.

My fiancé and I always order the potato knish (mashed potatoes mixed with onions and cabbage, baked in pie dough) it’s delicious. I’m happy we are so close to this place because we try to go every other weekend.
Oh one more thing…Their cookie is perfect 😸!!
Very friendly service. German special with 2 kinds of sausage was good. I like especially the sauerkraut juicy and flavorful. Pastami was good but not on the same level as Katz, albeit much cheaper.
One of the last few authentic Jewish/German delis. Food is always good, especially the matzo ball soup, German plate, corned beef hash and pastrami. They have limited hours so be sure to check before heading over there.
My daughter told me their pastrami sandwiches and their cookies are really good. She was right about their pastrami sandwiches. I had the hot pastrami while my son and sisters had the Reuben (they are Reuben fans). I wanted to take pictures of their Reuben sandwich but they were too hungry, and focused on enjoying their food. Delicious! I will have to go back and try their cookies.
Though not a very large restaurant, it is very cute, organized and clean. Fantastic servers, attaintive and friendly. She was very thoughtful and considerate. The pastrami and Reuben sandwiches were excellent with lots of meat, fresh bread. The split pea soup was good, maybe a bit too salty. Deserts were good too. Love these type of neighborhood restaurant!
My first time here and wow, is the food wonderful!! Their Ruben Sandwich and Pastrami Sandwich are in thick portions and will leave you full. They even handed out free samples of their Mac and Cheese. Oooooh that was so delicious!! 😋
Best patty melt! My mom had the Rich Boy sub. It was HUGE! Friendly service. Can’t wait to come back and try the chicken sandwich. My mom is going to try the chopped liver. It’s a real deli in San Jose!
Sometimes you gotta treat yourself to a tasty cookie….and when that times comes, and you find yourself in Willow Glen, Gunther’s is the spot. These aren’t just any ol cookie…these cookies are super bomb dot com. Sure there are cookie specialty joints popping up here n there, but Gunther’s has been around since 1971 and I think it’s all thanks to the cookies. Like for reals tho…from the first bite to the last, you’ll thank me for the tip. One love

Score!! Absolutely a fabulous find! The service is great and genuine, it's clean, and the fresh delicious variety of food is awesome! The French toast was cooked perfectly and the syrup was delicious. The place smells warm and scrumptious with hot food steaming and taunting you..and there are tons of lovely sweet treats. I look forward to trying it again!

Looking to try something different for a change, we stopped in at Gunther's.
When you walk in, you quickly realize that they have a huge menu. "On the wall" they also have a big selection of bottled sodas, a soda dispenser and lots of yummy looking desserts.
The offer take out, bar seating and dining tables. We sat in a nice booth.
I ordered a hot chocolate "with milk please, no hot water" (no problem will get that for you) very good and nice and hot, just like I like it.
For filling my tummy I ordered a Corn beef "and" Pastrami Sammy "I asked them to mix the 2 meats" comes with milted cheese, mushrooms, grilled onions and roasted peppers.
I also got a side of their Mac & Cheese.
Pops got a Tri-Tip Sammy with cheese and roasted peppers.
The Mac & Cheese is creamy and cheesy 3.5 stars
The Hot chocolate "with whip cream" hit the spot 4 stars
The Tri Tip Sammy pops said was good but the meat was chewy 3 stars
My Pastrami and Corn beef........ Wow!! The French bread crust was crispy on top and soft in the middle and had a nice sour dough taste. The combo of Corn beef, Pastrami, sauté onions and shrooms with the cheese and roasted Peppers DAMN!!! 5 stars all day every day!! The Sammy is also really big, I was only able to finish half. Pops asked if I was gonna share the other half with my wifey "I think my expression said it all, cuz pops started laughing" sorry hunny this ones all minezzz
