Zona Rosa is our favorite restaurant in San Jose! The food is outstanding, the service is always excellent, and the drinks are delicious. Not only do we frequent this restaurant a few times per month, we held our wedding rehearsal dinner here. James, Jose, and the rest of the staff were phenomenal-they made our night unforgettable! They helped with any minor issues, communicated well along the way, and treated all of our guests very well. Managing a 40 person party is an impressive feat, and Zona Rosa blew us away yet again. We felt so loved and special, and everyone loved the food and drinks! And the cost was much less than other locations we looked into for a large party event. It doesn't get better than Zona Rosa!

Zona Rosa, one of San Jose's most captivating culinary experiences. Alright folks, gather around, because we're heading over to Zona Rosa, one of San Jose's most captivating culinary experiences. Nestled on The Alameda, this restaurant is not just about food and drink; it's about creating an atmosphere that pulls you in and keeps you coming back for more. So, let's dive into what makes Zona Rosa tick. First up, the ambiance. When you step into Zona Rosa, you're transported to a hacienda-like atmosphere that oozes warmth and comfort. The restaurant has a delightful laid-back vibe that makes you want to kick back, relax, and enjoy the experience. The staff is nothing short of delightful, offering friendly service that adds a personal touch to your dining experience. The food at Zona Rosa is Mexican with a twist. It's a fusion of traditional Mexican dishes reinterpreted in unique and creative ways. The chefs have given a fresh spin to age-old recipes, resulting in dishes that are incredibly delicious and different from anything you've tasted before. If you're a fan of brunch, Zona Rosa has got you covered. They've got a unique twist on chilaquiles, serving 'em up with guajillo sauce, scrambled eggs, queso fresco, and pico de gallo. If you're after something sweet, then check out their blue corn banana pancakes with candied pecans, piloncillo syrup, seasonal fruit, and crema - I mean, how good does that sound? You want to talk about starters? Their guacamole is a game-changer. I mean, guacamole with bacon and pistachios? Yes, please! It's a must-try according to folks who've been there. And, let's talk about their dinner dishes for a second. I recommend their enchiladas, are really amazing. If you're a seafood lover, you cannot miss their Pesca del Dia, which features the blackened fish catch of the day served with cabbage and cilantro. The spiciness of the blackened fish contrasted with the crunch of the cabbage and the freshness of the cilantro is a treat to your taste buds. And now, for my favorite part – the spirits. Zona Rosa boasts a wide range of tequilas and mezcales, ensuring that there is something for everyone. Their handcrafted cocktails are truly a class apart. For those who love tequila, the variety on offer is impressive, each brand carrying its unique flavor profile and origin story. If mezcal is more your speed, you're in luck. Zona Rosa's mezcal selection is a wonderful mix of smoky, fruity, and earthy notes that are sure to please your palate. But what's a drink without a good cocktail to mix it with? Zona Rosa's cocktails are crafted with precision and care, each one a delicate balance of flavors designed to complement the spirits they're mixed with. The hibiscus margarita is a standout, offering a refreshingly sweet and tangy flavor that pairs beautifully with the rich Mexican dishes. Zona Rosa's commitment to using fresh ingredients and their dedication to crafting dishes and drinks by hand is a testament to their passion for delivering a high-quality dining experience. They offer a variety of weekly specials, new menu items, and cocktails, ensuring that there's always something new and exciting to try. Despite all the delicious food and drinks, perhaps what stands out most about Zona Rosa is the overall experience. From the moment you walk in to the time you leave, everything about this place feels special and unique. Whether it's the beautifully prepared food, the expertly crafted drinks, or the warm and friendly service, it's clear that Zona Rosa is a place that takes pride in creating a memorable dining experience for every guest. To sum up, Zona Rosa is more than just a restaurant; it's a place where you can enjoy great food, drink, and atmosphere, all under one roof. If you're in San Jose and looking for a place that serves up a memorable dining experience, Zona Rosa should be at the top of your list!

Extremely satisfying first visit to Zona Rosa. Within a few minutes of being seated at the bar, the bar staff treated several bar patrons to a taste of a watermelon margarita that they were testing out. Hope they add this to their rotation!dangerously refreshing. The hibiscus margarita that I did order was just as delectable. It was a favourite of the bar team, and after some dialogue, they offered to customize it to spice it up a notch. It was balanced, not too sweet, and was a sight to behold with the fresh orchid as garnish. I only had enough room to try the esquites and the guacamole, adding the bacon and pistachio option. The esquites stood out to me: everything about an elote that I adore without the work of taking it off the cob. The guacamole was on category—not as memorable. It was fun to ignore the chips and use the bacon crisps as the dipping vehicle, though. I wish I had come here with others or had more time while in town to explore the drinks and dishes further. Would recommend others like myself who are visiting San Jose for a few days.

Pretty small restaurant that seems to only have 1-2 servers helping all the guests inside and outside. Everyone’s friendly and the foods good. My only setback is the price. I do wish the taco dishes were better priced and maybe one 1 per serving so you could mix and match. I feel like as someone who likes variety, I end up spending so much to avoid having the same thing all over my plate.

Zona Rosa is an exceptional Mexican restaurant that offers amazing cocktails, excellent service, and good vegetarian options. The staff is super knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming, the drinks are top-notch, and the vegetarian dishes (even though few options) are flavorful and creative. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Mexican cuisine. The warm and inviting ambiance, with beautiful decor and lively music, adds to the overall experience. They also have the best Guac.

Zona Rosa stands out amongst so many great Mexican restaurants in San Jose. The small and modest setting is elegantly detailed with tasteful decor which alludes to the quality of the food served within. The food and cocktails alone stand amongst the best I have had in the South Bay. Boasting as a neighborhood scratch kitchen, Zona Rosa truly surpasses expectations with its amazing quality, its great staff, and a creative Chef that has me excited to return soon to taste the latest menu items.

Comfortable and at-home vibe. Although the sangria tasted a bit too sour for me, the shrimp tacos were cooked PERFECTLY! Highly recommend giving it a try, you won’t regret!

This was a great place to have brunch, and we will definitely be back. We ordered the Huervos y Papas and the ZR Potato Hash, and both were delicious. We also got the Dark Chocolate Chip Banana Crumb Cake, and it was great! The inside is so cozy and nice, and all of the employees were friendly.
