Creperie Saint Germain

The quality of the crepe itself was good. It was soft and chewy. I tried the apple caramel crepe and it was pretty average. It had a lot of apples but was almost too sweet. There wasn't a line and it took about 4 minutes. Good place to stop to fill your crepe cravings. Minus one star because it's $2-3 overpriced for what you get. Minus a second star because the fillings within the crepe I got were average. I'll probably go back sometime when I feel like spending over $10 for a crepe and try the standard strawberry nutella crepe and a savory crepe.

Average...Not great by any means, but a decent lunch. A strawberry Nutella crepe is pretty simple to make but theirs lacked imagination. The strawberries were either too big or too small and there were very few in number. The consistency of the Nutella was all wrong, I suspect because its temperature was too low when served. The lunch crepe I had had similar failings. What's funny is I can't even remember which one I got and it was only 2 days ago. I wanted very much to like this place because Iove crepes but it was just plain old average...and barely that.

Every time I go to this place they are out of something. Today I ordered a roasted turkey crepe that comes w cheddar, avocado, spinach, turkey, pesto and pine nuts: there was no avocados in crepe at all, nor did anybody say that they may’ve been out of avocados! Instead of pesto I asked for mashrooms- they charge extra for add-ins and yet they don’t serve it well, please cut the mashrooms in smaller pieces! Also crepe does not taste good at all, tastes kinda burned. I’m done w this crepe spot for good.

This is the "CSG Express" location. It's a food cart on the corner of 2nd and Howard. The crepe-keeper was friendly, especially given the late hour, though it does take some time to get your crepe with only one guy making them. The extensive menu is promising and entices me to return every day to explore it. The crepes aren't mind-blowing and are a little over-priced, but they are awesome to grab and eat as you walk home from the bar or back to the office at lunch. The hours are a bit strange but stop by for sweet or savory late night grubbin' on a Friday or Saturday when they are open til 3:30am.
