Acme Bread

This bakery was bustling when we arrived. There was a long line but it moved quickly. The selection of breads and pastries was expansive, but we got a cinnamon roll and a cardamom cake. The pastries were soft but flaky, packed with spices and flavor. The staff were very sweet as well, offering extra pastries and friendly conversation.

Cute bakery within the Ferry Building selling a wide range of pastries. Tried the lemon madeleine which is a bit dry but still tasty. I also tried the special pizza (fennel cheese olive) which looks scrumptious but I wish they had offered to warm it up as it was all cold and quite hard to bite. Price is reasonable and I will try coming back to try other items as it looks good though I wouldn’t say my first experience was the best

For someone that prefers the European bread style, this place offers a great assortment that is both fresh and tasty. Revisiting this bakery after many years and the quality has stayed the same. Also the sandwiches are more European style - based on a fresh baguette with real butter and filling such as salami, cheese and vegetables.

I love Acme bread. I usually get Pain de mie, sour loaf, sourdough cheese roll (like the one in the picture), and sometimes the vanilla madeleines. I make my own breakfast at home using their breads. I don’t come by everyday so what I do is I buy about 5 loaves that I slice, bag in pairs with ziplock, and freeze at home. I then thaw and toast them when it’s time to make a breakfast sandwich. They also sell day old bread, wrapped or bagged properly for half the price. When you come by especially in the morning, check their day old items which are usually on the left side wall shelf. I tried a day old Pain de Mie once and it’s as good as the freshly baked ones. They don’t have price tags on their breads so you have to ask if you’re curious.

Best place to get fresh bread of all kinds! They have a lot of options for you to choose, from Madeleine to olive bread. They also have sandwiches served on a baguette for breakfast/lunch, really delicious! Staff is really friendly and prices are good. I’d definitely come back whenever I get the chance to get my fresh and tasty bread of the day!
