Lima Restaurant has only been open one week but it’s already on my favorites list. The ceviche wasn’t good, it was extraordinary. The seafood is fresh, tender and exquisitely flavorful. I had the pisco sour happy hour special that came with wings. Also yummy. The owners were graciously greeting all the patrons and promised to have chicha morada (a traditional Peruvian drink) on the menu soon. I’ll be back for that and to try the lucuma cheesecake because these are the flavors I fell in love when I visited Peru.

I was excited to find a Peruvian restaurant on my way to a baseball game and it was worth the stop. My arroz con mariscos was really good, but my passion fruit sour could’ve been better. The restaurant was empty and even then we didn’t have much attention from the waiter. Overall the food tasted great but it need better customer service.

What an amazing opportunity to visit Lima during their soft opening. If you are looking for a taste of Lima, Peru, this is the place for you! The food was fantastic! If you’re feeling brave, try the ceviche de pescado. A traditional Peruvian dish that is sure to please. And don’t forget to get an Inka Cola. It’s the truly Peruvian companion to any dish. I hope to come back to San Diego soon so I can eat here again!

Eve made me believe that there are still wonderful waitresses in the world!!! Omg!!! This woman was phenomenal and delivered excellent customer service! I will call ahead to see if she’s working so she can serve me again! I had the combo fried rice Peruvian style which was amazing. I also had the Pisco Sour and Anticucho from the happy hour menu for only $7.99. Cheers! To Eve!

We went there for the B-Day of the cutest senior this world has known. Turning 94, we chose Lima in San Diego. Mostly because we love Peruvian food, and also because it was relatively new, and the reviews were overall very encouraging. Must be said that usually Peruvian places tend to disappoint, with their high prices and lack of culinary skills that fail to compare to the wonderful food in Lima, Peru. Oh yes, the name called our attention when trying to choose where to take this lovely lady. Lima, of course, being the capital of Peru, where anybody that is somebody, tries to make a name for themselves. Great restaurants, nice coastline, expensive but worthy to eat out there. We drove for about 75 minutes to get there, and the place was in the center of old downtown? Parking very tight, and parking garage rated very depressing, but happy to find out Lima offered parking validation. The area is booming with businesses, and like most downtowns, with homeless people mingling with the more affluent. Got lost, took the wrong elevator, when otherwise it would have been a 5 minute walk, ended up taking a taxi great tourists that we were. Lima is very spacious, I wondered what kind of place it had been before. A Sunday, not many people, our party 🎉 🎈 of eight started ordering different dishes which really took a long time to start arriving. We were getting a little sour, until my lovely niece put the disgruntled in our place, so we shared each dish, passed it around, and lo and behold, the food was very nice. The party celebration changed gears after a few drinks, and the food did not let us down. It was explained that some machinery had broken down, thus the slow pace. Anticuchos (beef heart) delicious, many dishes were ordered and most made the grade. Might have to visit again, owners and wonderful E turned out to be very nice. Total bill close to $260. Birthday 🎂 Girl adorable. 4 Stars.

When this place goes full force in April it will be hard to beat. If you have ever been to Peru then you have to come try this place. It brought back some memories. I had the Lomo Saltado (marinated strips of sirloin) and it was great! The owners work there and they take great pride to greet you. I plan to go back for the grand opening.

Anticuchos and lomo Saltado we’re both very fresh and delicious. Service was on point. Restaurant ran out of seco de carne due to The Peruvian independence celebrations at Balboa Park.

Delicious food with amazing presentation. Stopped here for lunch and had the ceviche entree which looked as good as it tasted. My plate was beautiful. Our waiter was incredibly passionate about Peruvian food and explained all the dishes to us. Extremely fresh and delicious. Great prices, great company and great food.
