It's all gluten free!!! No need to ask questions about the menu and no need to worry that whoever is preparing your food thinks celiac disease is made up, and on top of that the baker/chef doesn't labor under some sort of illusion that gluten free should be dry and bland. The food is delicious! I love the sugar cookies, cinnamon rolls, and red velvet cupcakes.
One of my favorite places in Salt Lake City to get gluten free and/or vegan treats. They don't have everything that is vegan, but they do have everything that is gluten free. They also will tell you what is dairy free or vegan when you are searching. I have gotten several things here and one was peaches and cream cupcake that was gluten free and vegan. oh my gosh. I haven't ever had a cupcake so good. These guys are great and so reasonably priced!
I used to be a firm believer that nuts and desserts had no place together, until I had the coconut/walnut/pecan “Italian” cake with almond buttercream. The best cake ever. I don’t have any gluten allergies and I’d choose this cake any day over one with gluten.
So yummy, not just for gluten free but yummy for baked goods period. Delicious cookies, cupcakes, have not tried the sweet rolls or cookies but looking forward to our next visit.
My mom in law finally got a very nice safe delicious birthday cake that was a special order gluten free and vegan.
Pricing is competitive and hours are great.

Love Sweet Cake Bake Shop! I have a gluten allergy and while i'm comfortable baking my own sweet treats and ordering at (not dedicated gluten free) restaurants- it's such a huge comfort to have a dedicated gluten free bakery. Sometimes i catch myself about to ask "can this be made gluten free?" out of habit when I order here- and it's a relief to know it's 100% safe to eat anything here. The only reason I'm rating it 4/5 stars is because they tend to run out of their sandwich bread/ingredients pretty early on into the day. Would highly recommend to locals as well as visitors!
Pretty good gluten free bakery. A little pricey, and not super fresh, but the food was decent. I will probably go there again.
Update a year later. Food was much fresher! The customer service was lacking for sure. For every question we had, the front girl had to go to the back to ask someone else. They generally seemed unhelpful and not super knowledgeable. They are so pretty slow. However, I'm willing to overlook these issues because it's convenient and delicious gluten free goodness.
This bakery is delightful. Their baked goods are consistently delicious. Flavor and texture are superior to their gluten-ful counterparts. The cinnamon rolls are my favorite I've ever had from anywhere including homemade. The people who work there are so kind and friendly ... they will always answer any ingredient questions carefully and respectfully, which is a welcome change from the responses we get in other restaurants and stores.
I needed a gluten free dessert for my sons wedding in Utah. We ordered these from the bakery by phone and was NOT disappointed at all. We ordered 24 cupcakes and 24 bar cookies. Everything was fantastic. I wish they had something in Illinois. You won't go wrong buying from here
Sweet Cake Bakery is a totally gluten-free facility. For Celiacs in our family that is very important.
The baked goods that we have tried so far have been delicious. These items include cookies, cupcakes, lime key bar, and brownies. The red velvet cupcakes were a big hit. We look forward to trying additional items like the cinnamon rolls and bread.

Not only was the staff FRIENDLY but the cookies are unique and FULL OF FLAVOR!!!! I felt like I was walking into grandmas for cookies honestly it was so cute and homey inside. The cookies are AMAZING! PROPS to this place for making unique treats that a lot of places in SLC could not and would not because, let's be honest, Utah is not full of culture. So, I love when there is culture and it explodes like this place does in my mouth! Seriously, best cookies I've had in utah and I can't wait for my next visit. I got a classic sugar cookie it is so refreshing yet sweet and just... perfect almond flavor and consistency. Also, the butterscotch oatmeal cookie was INCREDIBLE!!! And it was a day old, I can't imagine what it was like yesterday! Also, it shows that they care about your experience by putting it open that something may be a day old and they have a discount. Usually places just lie and charge you full price. Not this place. highly recommend! Also, big cookies for the money. Honestly the best.
I have been enjoying Sweet Cakes for years. They were an obvious choice for our wedding cake baker. Their flavors are amazing and they have perfected their textures- our guests had no reason to think the cake was gluten free. They took our ideas and delivered a beautiful and delicious cake.
Gosh we love this place. My wife has Celiac, so gluten-free is more of a necessity than a lifestyle choice. Most GF food sucks. This place makes better goodies that are somehow GF than many places make with normal ingredients. Dear gosh, I could eat their orange rolls every day and die happy. Their bread is amazing, their egg strata (if you're lucky enough to stop in on a day they make it) is deliciously savory, and their bread loaves are better than many non-GF loaves (they actually rise!). You can't go wrong with anything they offer. We don't live in Utah, but whenever we're in SLC for doctor visits, we always swing by here to get some GF goodness!
