Definitely the star in BBQ Heaven, unless you can get to Kreuz's in TX, or Rudy's in New Mexico!
I have my favorites here, no doubt. 'Wet' brisket (cut off the fatty end), cherry wood smoked wings, smoked turkey, and, did I mention the brisket?! Their potato salad and coleslaw are nothing spectacular, but their cornbread stuffing is killer, as well as their collard greens. One reviewer said they were too salty, and they can get that way after the lunch rush. Simply ask for a replacement order. They're VERY accommodating. I'm not a fan of their cornbread either, at least, not with 'Que. Too cakey, but it's just a personal preference.
Now. The piéce d'resistance of any restaurant I've EVER been to on 3 continents and 8 islands are SHBBQ's FRENCH FRIES!! Bar none, the best. Double fried, skin-on russets that will make you wake up craving them at 3a.m.! I've been known to just get an order of fries to go---no, I always get the brisket too.
The ribs and other meats have a through and through smokey flavor that doesn't disguise the original meat. A couple other highly touted que places have meats that are indescernable as to their original critter. Not here. The quality of their meats shines through--smokey rich flavor and great house-made sauces.
They have daily specials, and links (as in sausage) on certain days. Also, some of the best gumbo and jumbalaya West of N'awlins. Super reasonable prices, and with such big portions, you'll have a great lunch the next day too!
The best BBQ I've ever had! I got a 1/3 rack of ribs and that was plenty for me. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the portion size. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes BBQ.
Went today just off the cuff. Ordered the Brisket, and a Brisket sandwich.
Excellent! Nice little selection of sauces too. I prefer the Musturd type. And for those of you who understand...I lime the "Q" here sign
Gluten-Free options! My dad requires to eat GF and they have an amazing GF carrot cake. I also shared a butter toffee-like cake with my sister. Yummy.
They serve the meat without any sauces and you add what you like. The sauces are left on the table. Bbq, mustard, etc. The sides were classic and good. The corn bread is also GF, it was a little dry and I wished we had honey. I think I could have gone up to counter and asked for it.
Lots of seating. The staff were great. Helpful and friendly. They have a smaller parking lot, but that's not surprising considering where they are located.
We had Sugarhouse BBQ cater our sons wedding this past weekend. Everything was delivered hot and delicious! The crowd favorite was definitely the brisket and jambalaya! So good! They delivered right on time and set everything up without any issues. Thanks for an amazing experience! We will be back!
After calling Texas home for a long time, I’m pretty hesitant with BBQ places. You do not need to worry about SugarHouse BBQ. It has a great menu and rich smoky flavor without being over powering. Best baked beans I’ve ever had!!
Food was delicious, the meat was super tender fall right off the bone. The sides were pretty amazing as well, potatoe salad but a little tangy but good. Overall great first time experience, also they gentleman that helped us out was great! Definitely 10 on customer service. We'll definitely be back.
We had the brisket, ribs, and pulled pork and they were all good. The meat had great flavor and I liked the sauce too. The fries were awesome and so were the Greek potatoes. The other sides we tried were just okay and really small. The service however was excellent.
This is one of the best place to have Ribs in Salt Lake City. Their Ribs, Pulled Pork and Brisket was fresh and tender. I fully recommend this restaurant because they deliver a good product. Cheers from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴
I took my kids out for dinner here and we really loved it. The Memphis style rubs are tasty and the meats are smoked perfectly. We especially loved the ribs and the chicken wings. Amazing bread pudding rounded out our meal. Truly delicious and the employees are really friendly and helpful.
This place was pretty good as far as Utah barbeque goes. I got the pulled pork sandwich, which was very nice. The flavor was good, but it was a little bit on the dry side until you add sauce to it. The other people in my group got the chopped beef, and a chicken sandwich. So I got to try a bit of both of those, and they were also pretty good.
The 1/4 chicken is one of my favorites. Along with the bbq beans and cornbread. With the mustard and vinegar sauces one can never go wrong. Not to mention the bbq sauce as well. Great service too. They are typically surprisingly quick to bring the food out to your table. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. Hard to go wrong with anything you get though. Over the years I have tried everything. Even their thanksgiving family meal that I did one year was amazing.
