Good burgers and dogs and the milkshakes are so thick that it makes it last for a long time.
Bring an appetite, but you won't need a lot of money to go with it. Simply awesome!
REALLY cheap, good sized portions, great tasting food...and fast. A winning recipe for sure. Spend your hard earned dough here with no worries.
Get a platter!. I always get the foot long with chili and mustard with both sides as the chicken wrap. It's the best trust me.
Great BBQ, Weird set-up. The food was great-both of us got the barbeque dinner with pulled pork, fries, and coleslaw. We got Coke floats to drink. The dinner was delicious and generously sized. The Coke Floats were ok -the vanilla ice cream used in them tasted a little like bargain ice cream. After we ordered, our meal came to us very quickly. Two huge meals plus beverages for $11 total. Nice!
What I did NOT like about this place was the fact that the rather lengthy and extensive menu board was placed right at the speaker where you order your food. You cannot see it prior to pulling up to the speaker. You have very little time to make your choice, so as not to delay the people in the car behind you. The menu is so large, it would take a first time visitor a while to take it all in. Plus it's written in a rainbow of colors against a stark black background, and it's kind of hard to read at night. Change the menu board placement and you will have a perfectly awesome BBQ place.
Greasy burgers just like your own backyard. Kinda cheap, lots of high school kids, another" West End" place to go or be seen.
Cheap but Good.... We went here the other day for a cheap lunch. I'm just amazed on how much food in a combo you can get for around $4. Can't beat that. I't cheaper than the well know fast-food places. Oh and the Oreo Milkshake is phenominal. I would definately go back.
Mostly Good, Very Cheap. I started going to the one near Regency Mall a while back and loved it, the new one on broad brings same feelings. Some days are better than others, yes.. but overall its a win win. I recommend the BLT ($1) hush puppies ($1) cajun chicken wrap (a little over a dollar) corn dog! ($1). Honestly it's the best fast food in the area, but is in no way healthy. Nothing on the menu is.

GO TO THE COOKOUT!. My co-workers were talking about a cookout or how they just came back from the cookout- I GO "WHAT COOKOUT WAS I NOT INVITED TO??" Well Cook out is a small fast food/drive thru you can order & pick up your food up. The have DELICIOUS milkshakes & Their menu is a definite money savor and worth your moneys worth of food. The line is ridiculous but when you get your food-it's worth the wait in the line. There's a second location opening up on W. broad st.....cannot wait! Def try it. their corndogs, bbq chicken, fries, quesadillas, etc=yummy! Def. recommend this place.
Quick service. I got the BBQ with slaw and no Texas Pete hot sauce sandwich. Onion rings and hush puppies. Wish my order had a couple more onion rings for the order. Good mount of hushpuppies. Be sure to ask for condiments including butter. Otherwise food was hot and delicious. Easy in. Easy out.
If you're looking for fast, inexpensive and tasty, this is the place. I've been to several different locations and they're all pretty consistent re food quality, fast service.
Also the milkshakes are so so good. I'm not sure if they still offer unlimited toppings for the milkshakes, but they used to.
Going thru the drive thru was quick, got the order correct (always have to check when you are feeding kids). Food tasted good, was consistent with prior time. Small issue was having to flag the employee back down to get condiments.
I rarely go to cookout, but have fallen in love with the Fresh Banana Milkshakes. I was there today at 11:53 (time on my ticket reads). The young gentleman working was rushed you could tell but so incredibly polite. When I got to the window, I realized he was working BOTH windows completely by himself and doing a fantastic job. He addressed everyone, was upbeat, was polite and even added humor when the shake machine gave him difficulty. I wish I had gotten his name ( he spoke plain English but was able to speak Spanish to a co-worker in the back. ) He was quite the go getter. You are blessed to have this young man. Deserves a bonus.
Doesn't get any better than Cookout for fast food and courteous service. Their "Huge Burger" is the best! Been going there for years. My grandson also thinks it is the best in food and service.
The burgers taste like you are at a barbecue or cookout. Burgers was cooked well done, and the topings were fresh. Drive-thru only, no dine-in.
I recently started back going to and/or eating out at Cook Out for the first time in 6 years. I used to go there all the time in high school as I worked and lived nearby. I only stopped due to personal health issues that caused me to have to change my approach to food and alter my diet for the better.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I decided to take a trek down taste bud memory lane, and I'm glad I did.
The prices are as affordable as I remember, the staff is as welcoming as I recall, and the food is as satisfying as I remember (I specifically love ordering the Cajun fries, Cajun chicken sandwich, and Cajun chicken wrap all together in the adult tray for $8 and something cents.
What was supposed to be a one-time dose of nostalgia ended up being my dinner routine for a week. I have since fallen back into old habits meal wise, but I will say I'm counting down the days until my next "backyard" cheat day!
Good comfort food at late hours. It was busy on a Monday night around 10:30, but one of the few places open this late. I got some good chili cheesedogs and hush puppies. Also got a delicious banana pudding shake.
The line was not long, the drive thru Associate spoke clearly and presented herself in a professional/friendly manner. The food was hot and no items were missing or made incorrectly.
Great customer service got a fruit punch milkshake 3 mintues before close
