We have been going here for years and we love it! Authenticity is what we love the most. The owners are very genuine people. The staff is excellent!!! We are going back again tonight for a late Valentine's celebration!!! I fully recommend if you want real authentic Indian cuisine. Not the commercial garbage you can get anywhere. Go try it out, you won't be disappointed. ❤

Pretty good prices for the quality of food. Was unimpressed with the vegetable platter appetizer but their entrees are quite delicious and a fair sight cheaper than the nearby Anokha. Come for the lunch buffet! Can't beat all you can eat entrees made to order.

It’s hard to find South Indian dishes, and I’m glad I found this! The food was delicious and so was the service. I’d recommend the Mysore masala dosa and sambar! The male and female servers were kind and made sure we had everything we needed. They went above and beyond than most servers do.

Service was excellent & the food was AMAZING! Took a friend and my daughter, both who had never had Indian food before & they loved it too. We ordered two appetizers & four entrees, & all the dishes were delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This is our go to place for Indian food. Only been here for Dinner, have not tried buffet yet. Service is very friendly and food is always fresh and taste good. I like the ambience, neither lighted up bright nor too dark. Good place for families with kids.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in the Richmond area. The food is excellent and authentic. Wait staff is always courteous and efficient. I am happy when I have a chance to go to Malabar. Many other Indian restaurants have cropped up in the Richmond area, but this was one of the first and in my opinion the best!

Okay I went to eat here for lunch on a weekday. The service was excellent the food was absolutely delicious. They do a thali on the weekdays which is unlimited and they bring the food to you. The food quality and taste was amazing!

My wife and I really enjoyed the Indian buffet lunch that is served here. On the day we went to the buffet tables weren't set up. Instead they bring you out your own assortment of little individual curries and other Indian dishes. If you like the particular dish you just ask the server to bring you more. We were stuffed. Not only do we eat lots of the dishes we typically order, we tried a bunch of other stuff they brought out and enjoy those as well.

First, a comment about the service. Unlike the couple of reviewers below, I found the service exceptional... the waiter was friendly and it was a pleasant dining experience for me. Food was good especially the Kadai Lamb, not as spicy as I like but it was good. I never had (or even heard of) rasa vada which was good as well. The highlight was Haywards 5000 Indian beer. I haven't had that in many years!.
