Wonderful experience at Mellow Mushroom in Richmond!
My pizza was delicious. I ordered the pepperoni and Italian sausage. My daughter ordered the buffalo chicken (the price of this pizza was $10 more than the one I ordered). My husband commented that the buffalo chicken pizza wasn’t worth the price. It was a little dry.
We all ordered the Caesar salad. It was very good.
The waiter was friendly and attentive.
I called to verify, and Mellow Mushroom said they have a bathroom on the entry level near the kitchen with wheel chair access. The other main bathrooms are downstairs. But let’s just say, the bathrooms downstairs are very, very nice. I’m particular about bathrooms and even my husband said the men’s bathroom was nice!
I really loved this specific Mellow Mushroom. The ambience was nice, the food was awesome, it just had a really good vibe.
Highly recommend and hope you’ll consider choosing this restaurant if you’re looking for a pizza place in Richmond!
Mellow mushroom pizza is the best, the crust, oh my, delicious. We ordered the mighty meaty and could hardly wait to eat the leftovers. The esperanza salad dressing is bold and flavorful, a must have whenever we visit. Levi was our server and he was so very pleasant! Trendy area of Richmond with plenty of places to walk off your gluttony 😀
Had a really good experience here. Very well decorated, staff is super friendly. Food is really good with plenty of options for folks with celiacs disease, and piece of mind to know your not going to get sick eating here. Bathroom are nice and clean. The only thing we ran into which is why I have given a 4 star review instead of a five star is my nephew found a hair in his root beer. The server was super nice and replaced it immediately but still how could it have gotten in a drink.....that was probably once in a million chance but that was our experience.
I normally get the veg out pizza with vegan cheese BUT today I found out you can get tofu and tempeh on pizza!
I got a customized pizza with; vegan cheese(make sure they cook the cheese well done), roasted tomatoes, green peppers, basil and bbq tempeh. If you are vegan ask them to remove the parmesan/butter from the crust!
We always enjoy finding a new (to us) Mellow Mushroom. We tried the meatballs and pretzel bites for the first time on our visit to this one; and they were as fantastic as the pizza.

Boy, do I love a pizza place that knows how to burn a pizza. Always get weird looks when I ask for well done

This place is amazing! The staff is super friendly and funny, and the food was amazing! The service was a little slow. The music taste in here is also just another great part of the restaurant. Would definitely recommend!
1st off the atmosphere was lovely, and mellow. It instantly put me in a great mood. Our waiter was great. The Buffalo wings and mighty meaty pizza was delicious. Everything came out freshly made. I will be returning to try other menu items.
The pizza was delicious! We had a large, House Special on thin crust. There were four of us eating, the large yielded 8 slices, and along with a side salad it was a great meal. Will be back if I'm in Carytown again.
