Mancino's Pizza & Grinders

(Edit: We went to Mancino's today 9/16/22 around 8.30 pm. We placed an order over the phone before heading there to save time. The guy over the phone was plain rude, kept saying he couldn't hear us although we were in an empty parking lot whereas he had music blasting in the background. But he kept telling us he couldn't hear us. Anyways, we went there to pay for the order at the register and the young guy wearing a hat who appeared to be having a bad day was least interested. He was charging us more for our order, then he made the correction when we had to bring to his notice about the incorrect pricing. He had a big frown on his face. He came out after few mins and just left the pizza on our table, we said thanks, to which he had no response. While we were eating, he kept telling something to his co-workers about us and kept staring. He came back to clean other tables, We told him the Pizza was nice to which he replied in a rude way "Have a good night". This guy who was running the front register today(9/16/22 8.30 pm) has zero customer service skills. We love Mancino's and refrain from writing negative comments about any place but this guy was absolutely the worse. He needs a lesson in customer service asap or Mancino's will end up losing customers because of his garbage attitude. ) Had heard a lot about Mancino's Pizza. Maybe had it once but It wasn't same as sitting in the restaurant Finally went and ordered a Large cheese Pizza for Dine-in. Dine-in is limited because of Covid and the restaurant was really busy for Carry outs. Had to sit for sometime before we finally got our pizza. But it was totally worth it. Probably the best Pizza here in Kalamazoo. The Crust, sauce, cheese were perfect. Usually we leave out the crust but the crust was really tasty and perfectly baked. The Large Pizza with 1 topping for 10.99 is a great deal. The Restaurant appeared to be clean and appears to be following all safety protocols. Customers are keeping distance while ordering.

Been a staple since I was a kid. My first memories eating with my parents took place here, and now I am eating here with my wife! Still great food.

Yum!!!!! I got half a grinder. Wish I would have got the whole one to take half home. Definitely will return when we are back in town, visiting family. Plus, the staff was super helpful and nice!

I went in to order 1 1/2 grinders. The place was busy but clean and has an ever revolving door of customers picking up pizzas and grinders or taking seats at a table. I was pretty happy I beat the rush! I asked how long it was going to take and after giving my name, told the lady that I would be outside. She said ok. After 15 minutes went by, I came inside to a long line of people. I saw the family of 6 that were in line behind me being served their pizzas, so I figured mine must be ready. I asked a girl to check if mine was ready and gave her my name. She goes in the doors to the back only to come back out following her coworker with all of their arms full of more pizzas and grinders for people that were once again behind me in line. Now she avoids my glare as she returns to the back. I wait for them to help every person in line, another 15 minutes, and I stand up and go to the counter and ask a guy who's standing by the oven but wont come any closer, he would rather yell, and he says it will be a few more minutes. I said ok and went and sat back down. I was never told by anyone what happened but my grinder and half grinder were in the middle of the oven. I am pretty sure my original order was never made, or given incorrectly to someone else, or forgotten, or something...I will never know, because nobody ever came out to address my question. The lady who took my order had them in her hands and when she brought them to me, she apologized to me twice, but never said what for. I was frustrated to take my first bite and to find the meat on the triple decker was cold still on the inside. They rushed cooking it to make up for whatever happened....again I'll never know. The Turkey half grinder was good, and the meat was warmer. I love the food and atmosphere when eating in, but when on the go and just picking up an order, call to place the order ahead. Then you might not go through the same. Sadly a little disappointed, especially with how much I love coming here and enjoying the awesome grinders and pizza. Good thing I wasn't in a hurry. The food is not usually disappointing. I will return, but not in any rush.

Mancinos Pizza Shaver Rd in Portage MI has always been THE Original Mancinos Pizza for over 40 years now, since I was a child growing up 1 block away, and has always had the best products and selection for a great price!
