The food looked great, but I came for the coffee and it didn’t disappoint! I got a pour over that was Las Cajas from Costa Rica I believe. It was an excellent recommendation from Chris. They had a new geisha that they just released and were giving samples that was also delicious. I got a nitro cold brew to go for later and it was also delicious! Great vibe to this place and cool art on the walls. Super stoked to find a good shop coming from Cali.

De Fer... More like De Awesome! De Fer Coffee in the Strip District is a step above mostly all other coffee shops I have ever been to based on the level of service, quality of the coffee, existence of wine & beer offerings, and the ambiance of the café. The owners and managers hit home runs when hiring their staff. Every employee was knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic, and genuine. I regret not remembering employee names because they all deserve so much recognition for doing a great job. I was at De Fer on Sunday, October 8th doing some work for about an hour around 4:00pm. The Steelers had just beat the Ravens! The drip coffee was some of the best I've ever had. I purchased some whole beans that I can't wait to get into at home. I did not partake in the wine & beer offerings. However, it is pretty rare to find a coffee roaster that also has a liquor license for wine and beer sales. I really want to visit Pittsburgh again just to check out more of De Fer's offerings. The café is busy! However, the staff do an unbelievable job ensuring a good experience by bringing drinks and food to the tables instead of the customary crowd of caffeine deprived customers standing around the drink bar eagerly awaiting for their name to be mispronounced. It's just a cool space in a redeveloped industrial building with a lot of great neighborhoody things popping up around. Way to go De Fer.

Great little breakfast here. Nice service and atmosphere. Kid friendly as they have a small kitchen playset for kids. I wish my cafés back home had these!

We've been stopping by De Fer for YEARS now. They have a wonderful Cafe atmosphere - Delicious food, coffee, tea and cocktails - and often host live music. They're always asking new and curious things to their menu (like the delightful matcha tonic I ordered today)

Wonderful alcoholic hot cocoa, Irish coffee, and espresso martini. Live music from a DJ at 7:30pm on the Saturday we visited. Recommended! Great atmosphere. Clean. Hip. Friendly, helpful staff.

My lady friend said they had good coffee here so we stopped in. We were together in Pittsburgh's Strip District area already for a fall pumpkin festival. It was pretty busy the Sunday afternoon we stopped. It had a pretty cool relaxing vibe inside. I ordered some sort of house special coffee. (It was recommended by the server.) I have to say, the coffee we ordered was awesome! I liked it very much. I'll have to ask her for the drinks name and update my review post. I don't have any history ordering coffee here frequently but from my first experience I would recommend it!

Great location. In a fun place. Love the ambiance with the brick and rust look. Feels cozy. I tried their butterscotch latte and chickpeas frittata and they were amazing. Service was great and friendly. Will come again.

Love this little coffee shop! Friends recommended this place near the strip district and very glad we came. Wife had the smore mocha and I had the plain drip. I normally don't drink my coffee black, but their coffee was very smooth. They had a fantastic variety of unique mixers for drinks and a great selection in their retail area. The ambiance was also very nice, spacious yet homey. 5/5 will be back next time in Pittsburgh!

I stopped for breakfast with my wife. Honestly, it was one of the most delicious breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. It tasted fresh and was very bold with flavor. The coffee was standard Cafe coffee. Wait, staff was top-notch. They were working quickly and efficiently while also being super friendly. Good vibes. Would suggest!

Coffee was great! Cool atmosphere to sit and get some laptop work done. Service was very professional and welcoming. The English muffin egg sandwich left a little bit to be desired.
