Cherries is a great, solid typical "greasy spoon diner". They don't try to dress it up as anything else, and they are great at the greasy spoon breakfast. I was bummed that this was the only diner downtown since I love options, but upon stepping inside, ordering and eating, I knew it was a great choice and I'd come back again and again.
Quick service, homemade breakfast style food. Great for what I was looking for. Cheap. Waitress what kinda grouchy, but I would be too if that's where I worked in Pittsburgh!
Good breakfast. Monica and the kitchen guys here did a very nice job with our breakfast. The food was prepared as ordered and was served promptly. The only down side is the styrofoam cups.

Cool little diner. I am always looking for a dining treasure and this is certainly one. It doesn't look like much on the inside - no polished interior and fireplace, but it has those little spots that tell you that some ordinary person put a lot of energy and love into making a little restaurant out of an imperfect space. Lots of people were packing in to eat breakfast. You can watch your meal being cooked and hear the stirring and sizzling. It's reassuring that breakfast didn't come from the freezer. And it's good - real delicious good food. I would absolutely go again.
The waitress there named Lisa is outstanding, she is always so nice and keeps a smile on her face, no matter what! I mostly get breakfast and I've never had a complaint, their food is awesome at reasonable prices! Most of the time she has to run the WHOLE restaurant all by herself, plus run the register, do take out orders, bus tables ECT... and still will not forget you! She is the best and most experienced waitress I've ever had! Thank you Lisa! ❤️
If you want a good home cooked breakfast, this is it. It was so good I forgot to take a picture of my meal before eating some. Oops. I would classify the pancake as magical, and the home fries as excellent. The eggs and sausage were cooked perfectly. Very reasonable prices also. We will come back here.

Cherries diner is a 5 star diner experience! The food came out fast, not only was it absolutely delicious but a huge portion as well. We were served by Cherry herself who was very warm and accommodating to our meal substations. If we’re ever back in Pittsburgh we will be back at Cherries diner!
This is another side-street find. Yes it is close to a number of other restaurants, but you have to be looking to find Cherries Diner.
Do not expect your fancy chain style place with a standard menu. This place is small with a to-the-point menu. What you can expect is good food and decent portions.
The inside is very dated, but the prices and food make up for the decor. If you are looking for a quick and tasty breakfast, give Cherries a shot.

Great little home cookin' diner just a short little walk from The Windham Grand Downtown and Market Square. Great food and quality serve!
Water lowkey tasted septic but tbh the food was great and the service miss Lisa provided was awesome! Will be back !
We we're staying downtown and walked to Cherry's. Great breakfast, everything was just like I like it. Eggs were perfect, sausage patties also. The potatoes were great, crisp and delicious.
Family that owns the restaurant were welcoming and friendly.
