Had the best experience at Joe’s! The food and service were top notch- our waitress was amazing! The king crab buckets Cajun to die for delicious- shark drink on point- manger stopped by asked us how everything was- everyone sooo friendly! Restaurant and bathrooms spotless! Best birthday ever! Has a window looking over river!
This is a great restaurant that went out of their way for me. Went for Crawfish Etouffee. Was told they had no crawfish, but would make the dish with crab meat. They did, but while making this, the chef got a shipment of crawfish. My server brought me the crawfish version, and a few minutes later, the chef brought me the crab version. The restaurant would only charge me for 1 version. Both versions, delicious! I left Joe's Crab Shack with a smile that wouldn't quit. I want to thank everyone, but especially our server Maggie (or Maddie, not sure) & the whole staff that made my Wife & my experience great.
We always wanted to go here but because of how busy this place gets on a Saturday and limited parking, we never got around to it. Thankfully we took the last chance we had on an early Thursday night with ample parking and few people out. This was when they weren’t letting people sit outside because of the air quality.
The service was fantastic. For example I ordered a salmon. It was the last thing they brought to the table and when they brought out everyone else’s food, a manager came out and told me that they overlooked it and didn’t feel comfortable serving it in that condition so they’re remaking it.
The atmosphere was great. The food was great. Everyone else got crab legs and loved it. I’ll include pictures of the food and restaurant!
We came out to eat here last week on a Friday and it was a very nice atmosphere, the entire staff was friendly and helpful. Our food came out a lot faster than we expected which was great because we were starving. We all got steampots and we're very happy with the old bay sauce they put on them. Our server was Jaime and she was great. I use to to the one in Florida with my mom when I was younger so it was a very nostalgic moment for us. One of the managers came and made sure our food was great and welcomed us back. Overall great experience 👍
Went here on Saturday. Made a special trip to Pittsburgh so we could have some good seafood. Our waitress was so very friendly!! We started with the crab dip and it was amazing. Writing this review 3 days later, it’s making my mouth water! My husband got queen crab boil with an extra queen cluster, I got snow crab boil & our son got the shrimp sampler. The shrimp sampler was good. My crab was amazing. The potatoes & corn I got in mine were okay… but my husbands was better because his boil had sausage in it as well & it was such good sausage! Husband said the queen crab wasn’t worth the price difference in the snow crab. We spent around $180 for three dinners, an appetizer & 3 drinks. The stand out for me- the sausage & the crab dip by far.
My food was pretty good, but i like the old way they served the crab in pots instead of bags. Jamie was our sever and we were very satisfied with her. She was always smiling very friendly and knowledgeable about what to order. We will be back to see you Jamie!
My 60 year old nephew and I stopped by Joe's Crab Shack in Pittsburg. Our waitress name was Haley. She was professional, efficient and very personable. We had just driven 400 miles and were two tired and worn out old farts. Haley welcomed us and made our meal so enjoyable we dropped her a 50% tip which was a first for me. Next time your there ask for Haley and get the best dining experience of your life and tell her Speed Thomas sent you.
The seafood is really good and freshly prepared. We had fish and shrimp with fries. There is a variety to choose from. Also, there is a full-service bar. The staff and bartenders are very friendly. This is a great place for the family or date night!!
Our server was awesome, very attentive and helpful. The food was pretty good, the only thing I can comment on was the clam chowder, it was really thick, it could have used a little thinning out in my opinion. Other than that our meal was delicious.
I ate at Joe's.
===Overall Impressions===
The place smells a little fishy as you'd expect from a seafood restaurant. It has a definite theme to it and it's got the charm of an old sea shanty. I loved the food, the staff and the view.
===Price/Value===
The price is quite reasonable for seafood. Most of the actual dishes are between $13-$35 with the more expensive options being lobster and crab.
The portions are quite large and the food came out great.
===Taste===
I had the Joe's sampler and another sampler. The fish and chips are quite good, but not as good as you'd find in a proper British pub. The crabcakes, southern stuffed shrimp and clam strips were superb, especially with tartar sauce.
===The staff===
The waiter I had was extremely friendly and attentive. I would recommend this particular Joe's to anyone as all of the waiters appeared to be quite jovial.
===Cleanliness===
No complaints from me. The restaurant seemed quite clean to me.
===Overall===
I'd highly recommend going here. It's not insanely expensive and the food is quite good. Pair that with a strong staff and a great riverside view? You've got a winner.
Food was slow coming, initially. But our server was super nice! Loved the decor! And if you haven't seen it and have time, I highly recommend walking around to the back of the restaurant to see the view of Pittsburgh.
Stuffed mushrooms where great. Definitely will get when we stop in again. Shrimp could have had more flavor. Shrimp was decent size. Mussels where in the small side. Waitress was awesome. Had our appetizer and drinks fast.
