Went here for a late dinner after hitting up the art museum with my kids and sister, only like an 8 min drive.. little did we know this place had FANTASTIC food, great customer service and they let me sit my 4 ur old son on the counter while they chopped, cooked and did cool cheesesteak tricks to entertain him. I appreciate that kind of attitude! Shows me they are down to earth and family friendly. I highly recommend!
My first Philly cheesesteak and it was delicious! Lots of meat that was seasoned well. Roll was fresh, crisp and soft. It sooooo good, but so much that I could only eat half. The old Bay fries were great too! Highly recommend and will go back next time I'm in Philly!
Cheesesteak was packed with moist and flavorful beef, with a bun that while a tad greasier than I prefer, had a great chewy bite. The fries were awesome- thick cut, nice crisp coating and a fluffy potato core. Price, service and on-site dining area were also great.
Under $20 for two great sized Philly Cheese steaks! After telling the cashier we were taking them on the road back to NY, he offered us a "travel kit". VERY friendly service! Basically, the meat n cheese get packed into a container and heroes wrapped separately so they don't get soggy. Very Cool! Just toast the bread and nuke the meat. Pretty awesome!
Love the fact that there was no line & they take cards.
The sandwich was good. I could've used more cheese but it was good, flavorful.
I'm so stuffed I can't even finish my fries.
Drove down to Philadelphia from NYC, decided we had to try some cheese steaks. Asked the cashier for her suggestion and went with combo with mushrooms.
It was good, not mind blown or anything. The fries were good. But just that, good.
I ordered a cheesesteak with provolone, no onions and was really impressed with how moist and flavorful the meat was. I hadn’t eaten anything all day and this place was a quick 15 minute walk from the Penitentiary. I planned to save half the sandwich for later but I ended up devouring the whole thing while sitting in the heated patio area and it kept me sated for the rest of the night on a 5 hour train ride home! Most folks took their orders to go so there was plenty of seating available. Prices are very reasonable and service was quick.
Great food, especially the cheesesteaks and roasted pork. They also have Lamb Cheesesteaks, which was interesting.
There is also seating, covered and outdoors. It's accessible right outside of the Fairmount Subway station!
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this cheesesteak after venturing out on a late Thursday night (this is one of the few cheesesteak joints open late). Meat was chopped like I prefer and wasn't too greasy or dry, roll was softer and whiz was excellent. This place didn't come recommended to me as one of the best, but it was sneakily good and found it's way into my top 3. I'm also a fan of the outdoor venue with a walk thru order window.
