I made a reservation same day and didn’t have any issues with wait time. It was for 5 pm on a Friday before it got super packed. The food was mid. The mozzarella sticks and calamari just tasted frozen. The croque monsieur and the blue cheese salad were great and I would recommend those dishes. The cocktails were okay. This is a place you definitely come to for the experience, especially for the Christmas decor. I would probably come back. I also wasn’t sure if it would be kid friendly but I brought my baby and 5 year old and found many others brought their kids!

What an amazing place !
Me and my sister wanted to dress up and go to a holiday bar and this place didn't disappoint us! The decorations were on point and the drinks and food were amazing.
The Manger Miguel was amazing, and our waiter Gabby was on top of everything she was awesome and made us feel comfortable.

Cool French bistro that went ham for Halloween! The decor during my visit was super cool.
The food was good. I had the mussels with fries which were delicious. Big, meaty Mussels with a rich broth with Pernod.
The service was alright, considering there were very few people dining.
In conclusion, a cool restaurant aesthetically, especially for Halloween. I would probably return, the food was good and I like what the owners did for Halloween.

This was a really fun spot to hit if you like Halloween decor or if you just love skeletons and eery vibes.
We came here in October in the spirit of Halloween and really enjoyed entire atmosphere.
For food we got the spinach dip and it was pretty good. It came with pita chips. They have an appetizer deal so if you come with a big group it can be very cost effective.
Drinks we got the cocktails and they were surprisingly strong. They tasted good, usual cocktails - nothing special.
Service: The service was pretty slow and there were a few times we had to flag our server down.
Price: The price of the drinks and appetizers are the usual NYC prices.
Overall, I felt like it was an average bar for food and drinks however the decor really made a big difference in the atmosphere and it was a fun experience.

New York Midtown, a staple in the neighborhood. Great for a quick bite for lunch, meeting friends after work or dinner with friends. Pappillon also has an upper floor with a bar that can be rented for an event. Oversized portions. If you are in the area they have decorated for Halloween.

Pretty cool restaurant, and the food was good. I really enjoyed the burger I got. The vibes were good, the area was chill, decorated really well. I was there around Halloween and I gotta say, it was really well decorated. My only thing was the wait time for the food. I waited a very long time for my food. That’s something they can improve on. Everything else was good.
The theme of the restaurant was pretty old school - like an 1800 home. Not my cup of tea but I did appreciate it.

This is the best restaurant of my 2023 so far. I lost my appetite since last December but this restaurant bring it back to me!!!! The mushroom risotto is fantastic starter and papillon burger is also great. Last, the sautéed shrimp risotto is wonderful entree. It worth 10 out of 5 stars!

Best place to come with colleagues, friends, or solo. The staff across all spectrums whether it be bartenders, servers, bar backs, management, host staff, etc are fantastic. They're down to earth, kind and just a genuine good group of employees that work well together.

Ambiance is good, food sucks. If you are looking for a fun place to get a drink this is it. If you want dinner I would recommend you try something else. I got the French onion soup and mozzarella app. Both were flavorless. I won’t be back.

Lunch with the team. We were sat outside and the weather was amazing so that was great.<br/>We had ordered in advance from the brunch options- omelettes, steaks, burgers and so on. We got there late and understandably the food was not hot. They offered to remake a carbonara for one of us which was great. They never served him for the period we were sat there.... that wasn’t great. My friend was patient and understanding and the manager was extremely apologetic and made it up.

The noise level at Papillon Bistro & Bar was a tad too much for us, as we wanted to catch up. Think after-work pub filled with happy people. We opted for one of the streetside tables near the open windows where we cooled off a bit with the cold AC air that floated out. I began with their well-blended house-smoked old fashion made using Four Roses and cedar smoke that I’d recommend. My dining companion (Sandi Durell, Publisher/Editor of our theatre partner TheaterPizzazz.com). tried their variation of a Moscow mule mad with Ravo vodka, pomegranate liqueur and ginger beer served classically in a copper mug.

My favourite restaurant so far! Food is great and nicely prepared. I loved their steak tartare. The hostess is friendly and would bring my dog water every time. Outdoor seating is great, except for that one time when people next to our table started smoking. But the hostess seated us somewhere else immediately. :) Last but not least, they're dog friendly!!! 🐶

We recently went to a private party which was on the first level in the rear of the restaurant. There have been many other occasions where we had business networking events that I have sponsored on the second level bar area which worked out fine. This is a French brasserie restaurant that has an active vibrant bar scene during the busy working day or evening. I have always enjoyed the bar bites that I have order here but never sat down for the traditional lunch or dinner. One of these days I will.

Mediocre and Sloppy. I had a business lunch at Papillon. My guests and I were the victims of an overturned trayfull of bussed dishes that was spilled all over us. We were soaked and splattered with left over food and beverages. Neither the staff nor the manager offered to come to our rescue to help clean us up. They did rush to clean up the mess on the floor, though.<br/><br/>Rather than offering to comp our meal or extend an invitation to dine another time as their guest as a gesture of apology, I was handed a bill for the amount of lunch with a bit of a discount. I was not offered any apology. This was pretty insulting. I had to aggressively demand that the charge be reversed. I asked that one of the owners follow up with me and no one ever did. <br/><br/>Dine somewhere else.... This is not the kind of place to conduct a business lunch. ... and the food is pretty mediocre as well, especially for midtown NYC. <br/><br/>The operation sure could use some customer service training and serve up better food.

Papillon. Ate here a couple of weeks ago for lunch with my wife and 2 year old son - have to say even though its more geared for the white collar businessman - the food was great and the service even better. They really looked after us, paying particular attention to my son. Food came quick, was hot, there was lots of it and it was very tasty and also very well priced. Not the most obvious choice of place to go for lunch with a family (we were stuck and the wee man was hungry) but they did themselves proud and we would defo go back again in the future. Thanks

Husband had the moules and frites, which were outstanding. My snapper entrée was good, but the rice pilaf tasted like it was about three days old. Service was pretty bad, to boot. Server took our food order and left, and it took us ten minutes to find someone to get us a couple glasses of wine. Nice ambience, though.
