Review Angus Club Steakhouse - New York City

Anton Istya
Came here on a holiday weekend to find it being surprisingly empty. Very nice setting, dime lights and in our case festive Christmas decorations. The food came quickly and the steak was one of the best I had in NYC. Very pleasantly surprised to by a Russian speaking waiter, saved me the trouble of translation the whole menu to less international family members. Overall will be on top of my recommendation for steak houses in a city where you need to book a table a day in advance in most places.

The dinner Steak was amazing and huge! It was very tender, and I ate most of it without the steak sauce, which also tasted great. The waiter was very nice and provided exceptional service and the portion sizes were very good, especially for Prix Fixe. Must restaurants are usually skimpy with their lunch options but they was very generous with their portion size. I had a wonderful time.

I stopped by for a quick lunch bite before heading to the airport. I ordered a burger. It was delicious. Loved it.

Fantastic quality of steak! The staff team was amazing, well coordinated, and professional. I brought a group of 36 people and they handled the sheer volume well. They made great recommendation. The food is definitely a 5 star class. Blue chip service and food.

I love steak! I love great service! I love a good steakhouse vibe! Needless to say, I love this restaurant. While they just recently opened, the owner and team's collective experience shows. At the risk of setting expectations too high (not sure I can) this steakhouse will impress even the most discerning diners! Enjoy - and pass it on - great work like theirs deserves our support!

My best lunch steak experience ever.

With so many steak houses in nyc, we took a risk with the new kid on the block but I'm really glad we did. It was excellent! The porterhouse for four was amazing, perfect crust and cool red rare inside ... and a nutty flavor from the extended aging (35 days). Modern decor, good table spacing, not loud at all, excellent service. They were also very accommodating with our young children. A nice change from the stuffy pretentious steak houses in the city!

I was really impressed by the steak here the first time I went and I visited a few more times and am very pleased by its constantly high standard. I had the ribeye and the porterhouse here, and the meat was superbly juicy, tender and flavorful. Pretty expensive but worth the price. The service is also flawless.

I hadn't been back to Angus Club Steakhouse in nearly a year but I dined there last night and a few times the first year they were open. I can say that every time I've dined there I've had attentive service and, most importantly, consistently delicious food. The bacon & the porterhouse are arguably the best NYC has to offer.

This is the one of best steak house's in nyc . I've hosted many events here, as they have great rooms to have private events. Even better if you want to take out the first floor they allow events there as well. The porter house cuts like butter. Their corn with truffle oil is amazing. Even the iced cream is amazing.

I've been to Angus Club several times. It's my go-to steakhouse when I visit NYC because the food is so delicious and of such good quality, and the atmosphere there is great. I've suggested it to many of my business colleagues as well and all of them have raved about it afterward. I'll be visiting NY again in a few weeks and I'm looking forward to another delicious meal there.

Came here for restaurant week with my boyfriend, the food was great! The filet mignon melted in your mouth. However it was very quiet, the waiters just stared at everyone almost to the point were it was uncomfortable. They did not even offer the menu for restaurant week you had to ask for it.

I had the privilege to visit the establishment last night with my fiance. While the restaurant was not yet open, I was blown away by the decor and what they have done with the space. The staff that I met was very courteous and promised great things to come which I am sure they will deliver. If the food gets as much attention as the location Mid Town is in for some great food and drink!! I for one am IN!!!

Great steaks. Went with a party of 7. got the porterhouse for 3, amazing cuts, very well cooked. Had 2 people in the group who don't eat meat so they got the salmon, also very good! Get the pecan pie!

This place was super nice. Came here for restaurant week and got the Fried Calamari, the Prime Ribeye and Cheesecake. Fried Calamari had no right to be that good, like THAT good. The Ribeye was also really good. The cheesecake was also good. The waiter gave me a free refill because I was cheap and asked if there were free refillsšŸ˜‚super nice but I'm very embarrassed šŸ˜‚I would go here again. It was really nice.

What a beautiful atmosphere! My filet was amazing. I could cut it with a spoon. Truffle creamed corn out of this world. It's a must. Everything was so tasty and the staff was so warm and welcoming. I HIGHLY, extremely recommend Angus! What a pleasure to dine there.

Angus Club Steak House in my opinion is among the best restaurants in New York. High quality food, preparation of excellent, wonderful service, exceptional hospitality. Instead of attracting to visit more often. Those who have not tasted this food more than delicious and those who have not felt the satisfaction that it offers the best Angus Club do not lose the opportunity to be a part of those moments that go good with the staff of Angus Club.

Love this place great food $38 prefix lunch with mussles and a filet mignon desert too can't beat it. The executive chef is a great guy who is always there to greet and talk to the customers. If you're going there for lunch go see I Itza who is one of the best bartenders in New York City for a high-quality lunch menu and great drinks....

Great dinner!. Had a great dinner last night at Angus Club, so I thought I would give a quick run-down:

We were a party of 7 including two young kids, had dinner at Angus at 6:45pm on a Tuesday

Food: 10
Service: 10
Environment: 10
Price: Competitive with other steakhouses

We got the Porterhouse for 4 it was excellent -- great nutty flavor which means the extended aging - 35 days - definitely paid off! Minor quibble - the plate could have been hotter to keep the steak warmer longer. I had to add a little salt and pepper, which is fine, easier to add than remove salt! Didn't come out greasy and coated in butter like Ruths Chris or Palm -- the outside was nice and crispy, inside cool and red. The sides were good, we had the steak fries, mashed potatoes, asparagus and broccoli. Mashed potatoes were barely warm, should have come out much hotter. The other sides were fine.

Dessert - Tiramisu. We loved it, although they should mention that it's a coconut tiramisu (I don't recall if that was mentioned on the menu), so it's not "traditional" but we all loved it.

The have a great corking policy - $40 per bottle, very nice glasses, decanting, excellent service.

As noted above, we had some young kids with us, and they were very accommodating to the kids, made us feel very welcome.

The environment was really nice - a great change from the loud obnoxious traditional steakhouses, the restaurant had a modern feel and this was the first time in years we ate in a restaurant in NY that wasn't too loud! OK, I'm turning into my dad, but I really can't stand loud restaurants, the sound level was great here.

Overall, a great experience and I hope to be back. Also definitely appropriate for a business dinner.

Delicious bone-in filet and fantastic service.

Good food, ok service. The restaurant is still new. I have to say the steaks we order were really good. However, the service seems to need (maybe due to the fact that it's still new) some improvements. After we ordered lump crabmeat appetizer and our entrees, we were served with a basket of warm bread. Great. Then within 2 mins the appetizer came out and they served it to our plate. We were expecting to enjoy the bread first (it was a slow rainy night) for about 5-10 minutes and then the appetizer. So we felt a little rushed. After the appetizer, we waited about 20 min for the steak. The meats were in great quality and juicy. Since I'm expecting and ordered a well done Filet Mignon, they were thoughtful enough to butterfly cut the meat so the outside is not too overcooked.

PJW. Had the pleasure of lunching @ Angus Club yesterday. The food was beyond good; it was FABULOUS. Enhancing the gastronomic experience is the decor and the service. A deceptively small dining space is dispelled when one enters the eatery's below street dining level. Here one enters series of experiences such as: The Chef's Table; The Oak Room; The Leather Room and more. Each room is exquisite, comfortable and inviting. Finally, the service; although the establishment is new, it only opened its doors on 27 January 2014, the staff presents an atmosphere and reality of decades of experience and hospitality. Angus is worth a trip from anywhere and beats a trip to Wiliamsburg.
Check them out at 135 E 55th Street New York, NY 10022.

The best steakhouse in NY!. From the time we arrived at Angus Club Steakhouse until the time we left, everything was perfect. I love when you arrive and are greeted with a smile. I could not have asked for a better experience. The atmosphere is upscale but relaxed and despite it being a full house not noisy at all. The service was amazing... The timing of drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert was perfect. And the best part of the evening...the food! Everything was perfectly portioned and prepared. I think, no matter what you order, you will be thoroughly pleased. Not only was the food amazing, but so was the staff. The owner went above and beyond to make the night special. He also showed us the dinning room downstairs which was absolutely gorgeous!! If you are looking for an upscale but approachable place with amazing food in NYC, visit Angus Club. What an incredible evening! Love, love, love this place!!!

This place is new. I had dinner there on Saturday and I have to say they have the best steak I have ever had. Aged and cooked to perfection. I canā€™t wait to visit again and I recommend that everyone give it a try. Overall review: excellent food, impeccable service, and beautiful dĆ©cor.

While out with my husband last night we stumbled upon this steakhouse, walked in to have dinner and WOW! Everything was outstanding! This is by far the best steakhouse I have been to! The Angus Club Steakhouse had the most AMAZING food, service and atmosphere! The steak was cooked to perfection, the Mac and cheese was to die for, and I must recommend all to try the fried calamari, it is out of this world! My husband was also highly pleased with the great wine list they had to offer.

Without a doubt will be coming back for more! :)

I came here for dinner with my wife to see what all the news was about this great new steakhouse that had opened up in Midtown. I've tried every steakhouse in Manhattan from Peter Luger's to Benjamins and Wolfgangs... All I can say is WOW! The place itself its absolutely exquisite, not to mention I had the juiciest steak of my life. The appetizers were delicious and the steak was perfectly cook. The staff is unbelievable friendly and the owners treat you like family. I wish them the best of luck and they can guarentee that I will be a regular in their restaurant. FIVE STARS

OUTRAGEUOS FOOD. I dined here with my wife on their 2nd night of being opened, and I knew coming into this new establishment it would be great food, but I have to say it was so much more, the service was spectacular, the porterhouse was on point, It was so tasty not salty not fatty but perfect, then they offered my and my wife to try the lobster mac and cheese, AWESOME!!!!! I wish all of the owners much success to their new business, I know I will be dining here frequently; I want to also thank the staff for the unbelievably service,
P.S. great wine list to add to this great place....

Thereā€™s nothing like seeing a large, hot plate of porterhouse delivered to your table still bubbling with butter. The steak, which is aged for 30-35 days in-house, was superb. It was perfectly cooked at a medium rare temperature inside, with a nice outer texture. After I devoured a couple of pieces, I didnā€™t think life could get any betterā€¦until I tried the seared tuna. Man, was this good. Again, perfectly cooked and paired nicely with a subtle wasabi sauce. I could really a

Angus Club Steakhouse is a refreshing, new steakhouse in Midtown East. The food is definitely at the premium level one would expect from a steakhouse, but the atmosphere is far removed. There are two dining rooms ā€“ one upstairs and downstairs. The upstairs is a little more casual ā€“ open and airy with a lot of windows. The downstairs has a real trendy, almost feminine feel to it, with luxurious wallpapers and rustic wood. There are also four private party rooms that seem great for both entertaining clients, as well as an intimate birthday gathering. All in all, I was impressed with Angus Club Steakhouse ā€“ both for its food and feel.
I Just Want To Eat
Last Friday, I was invited at Angus Club Steakhouse, a restaurant that opened its doors in February 2014. Yes, it is a steakhouse, one more in a city that got plenty. So, what would make Angus Club standout? The food? The service? That's what I wanted to know. For sure the place is impressive: from the entrance that has this long hallway to the dining rooms: a small one on the top floor to a larger one downstairs that can fit 150 guests. But what I loved were the multiple private party rooms, each of them having their own character. Decor wise, it is definitely elegant, but you do not get the same feel you get in lots of steakhouses: a...

Why Come Here? Unique and inviting steakhouse decor, prime angus steaks dry aged for 35 days
Lauren
Last week I attended a press dinner at Angus Club Steakhouse. This midtown steakhouse is quite different from any other steakhouse I've been to. The interior is beautifully modern, devoid of plush carpeting and a stuffy atmosphere. The wood walls give off a very interesting look, and there are many different nooks with curtains that make perfect spaces for more intimate group dinner options. Angus Club Steakhouse offers USDA prime black Angus beef steaks-- all of which are dry aged on-site for 30-35 days. The restaurant also stands out in that although their side dishes are typical for a steakhouse, they are prepared more uniquely. I found them to actually be more impressive than the main dishes. The majority of the tables in this restaurant are on the lower floor. I liked the traditional antique-looking lights paired with the modern decor. One of several dining nooks, great for a birthday or business

Tonight I was invited to try newcomer Angus Club Steakhouse a venture from 4 collaborators who have worked together at another popular steakhouse, but want to have their new project earn a reputation of it's own. True to it's name, all the beef served is USDA Prime Black Angus and what sets them apart is that all of their steaks are aged on premises for 30-35 days.
The Restaurant Fairy
I was recently invited for a press dinner atĀ Angus Club Steakhouse ā€“ a brand new sprawling spot for steak lovers in midtown Manhattan. Itā€™s art deco inspired digs are expansive and spread over two floors.

Well, when I bit into my filet at Angus Club Steakhouse, the aged, grass-fed meat (done medium rare) was so delicious and "buttery," that I swear I died and went to some sort of beef heaven! Interior But I am getting ahead of myself. My dining partner Gail and I started out with Mozzarella & Beefsteak Tomatoes ($15), one of the few non-seafood appetizers ā€Žon the menu. (I guess that the Angus Club Steakhouse folks know their clientele well enough to realize many of the customers like a seafood app if they are having a meat entree.) The fresh mozzarella was served in large two-ounce slices and the organic beefsteak tomatoes were deep red and juicy. This ā€œCapreseā€ was lightly drizzled with wonderful green EVOO. You can never go wrong with fresh mozzarella fresh basil pieces and juicy tomatoes; it's a no brainer. We then both ordered the Filet Mignon ($49 for a 12 to 14 ounce portion). The flame-grilled meat had a beautiful light crust and pretty grill marks on the outside--quite enough to make us drool. We did not even need steak knives to cut the meat and it came seasoned with premium pink Himalaya sea salt! This was filet at its most flavorful; you could not ask for a better cut in New York or anywhere else for that matter. Truffle Mac and Cheese We shared three generously portioned classic steakhouse sides: Peas And Onions ($10), Truffle Mac And Cheese ($12) and Steak Fries ($9). The peas had large slices of sautĆ©ed onions and we're obviously cooked in truffle oil; the peas were cooked medium firm, just how I like them. ā€Ž The Truffle Mac And Cheese featured melted organic Wisconsin Cheddar and had delicious organic salted butter and cream m
