This review is for the CHALET restaurant pop up for the holidays at the Mark. Its outside in covered chalet style add on. Felt like you were in Alsace.great fondue the best we ever had, delicious salad and the service was great. We wanted cocktails our waiter, I think k his name was Stephen had to shuttle between the hotel bar and the chalet. He did an amazing job. Great winter experience

Ive been here many times and have complained about the slow service a few times. We had a joke going that the check would take 30min to come. Today everything was perfect and service was truly amazing. I was offered a free cappuccino to go and had a great experience. The burrata is the best i have had in nyc and salmon was perfect. Drinks are strong and highly recomend you give it a try!

Friends and I stopped in for a light bite to eat! We’re seated promptly and the service was great. We shared the crispy salmon, oysters, and caviar. The waiter was able to bring gluten free bread and was knowledgeable on cross contamination and gluten ingredients. Drinks were tasty as well!

I had been coming to the Mark before Covid and it was always good but I was a bit hesitant to return again due to all of the negative reviews. I am so happy I came back! We were seated right away, a bit before our reservation time. The service from the hostess and waiters was friendly and prompt ! We had the seafood tower and everything tasted very fresh. The salmon crispy rice were great, the pasta was delicious and the drinks strong. We finished everything off with the grand marnier soufflé and it was the perfect way to end the meal. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon and add this restaurant to my regular rotations again.

“Outdoor dining at The Mark? Simple, yet surprisingly serene. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t boast about its grandeur but quietly excels in what it does. The food? Well, it doesn’t put on airs. It’s not trying to be pretentious or over-the-top. It’s just genuinely good. I’ve had the pleasure of dining here on numerous occasions, and it never disappoints. The consistency is comforting, like catching up with an old friend. The quality of the food speaks for itself; it’s all about genuine flavors, no unnecessary theatrics. For an ideal lunch spot, The Mark has the winning formula – unassuming yet satisfying. Sometimes, simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”

Food here is amazing, which is to expected for Jean-George. Great spot for lunch before you hit the museum or a walk in Central Park. On the pricier side for sure but if great food is important to you, this is a must try.

I was very disappointed to see so many negative reviews about this restaurant, especially when my personal experience couldn’t be further from them! Maybe this is because many of them are breakfast/brunch and not dinner. I had such an exceptional meal at The Mark Restaurant. The service was slightly slow at times, but this is because the restaurant was incredibly busy and there was probably not enough staff to allow for this. The atmosphere was wonderful. The bread to begin with was fresh. There was a large selection available on the menu for all tastes. I throughly enjoyed my main course of the endive salad and well cooked haricots verts. My fellow diners also enjoyed their steak and salad. Most of all, I found the quality of the desserts to be unbelievable. I was able to try both the warm chocolate cake and the fabulous grand manier soufflé. Both of which were very freshly made and I would highly recommend to anyone with a sweet tooth. Overall, a fantastic experience. I look forward to returning.

🍽️Food: 5/5 🤵🏽‍♂️Service: 5/5 🪑Ambiance: 5/5 📝Notes: I love this spot for a nice lunch. The staff are amazing and the food is really good 😋 I love the Egg Caviar as well as the other two dishes! I would even consider staying here for my next visit :)

I was very skeptical about the place given all the negative reviews. After visiting the place, I find it at least ok. Service is a bit on the slow side given how many waitstaff are there. Food is a bit mixed but I like the main dishes. Overall what I would expect for the price point. More like 3.5 stars for me but I think I would bump it a bit because the current average rating doesn’t do them justice.

Probably the best burger in the World. Really lovely place, fun bar and Wonderful Hotel. A must to visit.

I had a fabulous brunch a few days ago at the Mark Restaurant! All the staffs were friendly and nice, service was on point. I thought menu was plain but it was all absolutely scrumptious. Most of all, french toast stands out and I am definitely coming back for this :)

Fabulous dinner - the food was quite tasty, very fresh and uniquely prepared. The dessert (I got the profiteroles) was to die for. Drinks were good, though somewhat overpriced for quality. Servers were attentive and friendly but not overbearing. Will be back.

Taliyah… Is simple amazing! Her customer services skills are 5 STAR! Taliyah made the impossible happen when she was able to switch out tent reservation to indoors, at the last minute on an extremely busy night! She went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure that I could celebrate my birthday with my party of six. I let her know that her work ethic was impressive. Thank you for making my night so special!!

I came for my girlfriend’s birthday and we loved the food here, the parmesan crusted chicken was delicious, the scallops were so fresh and cooked right, the cream tomato soup was really good, nothing to complain about. They have an exceptional service. Definitely coming back soon.

The worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. We had made our reservation weeks in advance for a birthday celebration. The day of the event the restaurant's heat broke. It was 10 degrees outside and the roof was all glass... So it was COLD. Although we had arrived 30 minutes prior to our reservation to have a coffee in the lounge, the restaurant did not bother to notify us that the heat was not working. When we were taken to our table the hostess told us that it was "a bit cold" and they were working on the heat (understatement of the century). At that point it was too late to make other arrangements... It was Valentine's Day.

While the cold was a factor in my overall experience, it is not my reason for leaving this review.

The service was AWFUL. As I said, we were never notified that we would need snow gear to eat at the restaurant. There seemed to be more than enough staff, yet it took almost 30 minutes to have someone take our drink order and another 20 for them to show up. The menu was a prefix three course menu. One of the ladies at our table wasn't feeling well and only wanted an appetizer. The waiter took it upon himself to order her an entree and desert (of his choice), and proceeded to place the unwanted dishes in front of her during each course. He was extremely rude about it saying he "had to give her something because it was prefix only". It was one of the most bizarre things I've experienced at a restaurant, not to mention a huge waste. The total lunch took about 2.5 hours... Maybe if the servers had spent less time walking around with trays of hot Cocoa they would have had time to serve the food... but what do I know?

After complaining to the manager the only compensation we received was they took the $85 prefix charge off the bill for the one person. It is still baffling to me that they thought it was appropriate to charge it in the first place! I also find it insane that there was no immediate discount for having to eat in 10 degree weather.

It was hands down THE most unpleasant and disappointing lunch I have ever had. I almost feel bad for the chefs that their food was ruined by the horrendous service.

You could not pay me to go back to this restaurant. Honestly I would have been happier spending my $150 (my portion of the outrageous bill) at Apple Bees.

Quite good. Not too fufu but upscale just the same. Service and ambiance are "perfect" and the wine selection by the glass superb. Bring your wallet as it's not cheap but on the higher end of UES prices.

Expensive but worth it. An older very well healed crowd, elegance surrounds, service is exceptional. The souffle is to die for. MB rating 9.5! Yes I know...

Terrible service ruins an evening. We were staying at the Mark Hotel - which is lovely -and had eaten at other Jean Georges' restaurants so we made reservations for a birthday dinner for my husband over Thanksgiving weekend, thinking it would be a wonderful experience. Were we ever wrong. There were 15 of us at two tables . Between the inattentive and poorly trained waiters and the incredibly long wait for entrees (over 2 hours), this was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had anywhere. Our table was never asked for a drink order. Wine took forever to get.
When it finally came, the food at our table was fine but the other guests sent back luke-warm soup and unshucked oysters. Repeated complaints to the manager, Eric, did absolutely nothing to improve matters and he never apologized. One guest left before the entree came and we all left without dessert. When service is this bad, it doesn't really matter how nice the room is or what the food tastes like.
What a disappointing experience.

The food is up to the standards of JG, however the service is awful. Had lunch twice this week and on our second visit the service was nonexistant. The assistant Jenny Morgan tried her best to make amends and she deserves an A for effort. The food is so good but when you have to go to management for water, (they could not find my opened bottle of wine) we wanted to be released. Please improve! Bob Drew

Lively, great food. Go through the too, too chi-chi bar to reach the restaurant. But once you're seated, everything changes for the better. The food is not as precious as Jean-George in Columbus Circle. At The Mark, the offerings are more straightforward-- linguine with clams, exquisitely grilled lamb chops, poached salmon, parm encrusted chicken, to name but a few. The restauarant is lively, but not too loud and the tables are well-spaced.

A mixed bag. I was taken to this restaurant by friends, and was slightly apprehensive as I hadn't heard much good about it. It was difficult for us to get a table at the time we wanted, so we had to sit down at 9:30. It is a VERY NOISY restaurant, so if you want a quiet evening, forget it. The hostess was surly, and coat check people barely communicative. In fact, there is general attitude from all service people in this restaurant. It is not attractively decorated, and full of bizarre touches which some decorator obviously thought were cool (like a glass wall with wine displayed as if in a wine store). Having said all this, the food was really very good. I had a very good charred burger with brie and black truffle sauce which was excellent. But THE BEST was the fettucine with lemon cream sauce, absolutely positively divine. Uninteresting desserts though - they need a good pastry chef obviously. Very very expensive when all tolled, and annoying service and ambience, but gosh the food was good.

Great Experience!. I don't have to say much about this restaurant. Had a great experience, great food, great service. But not worth the price compared to Sydney restaurants...

It was by chance that I found out Jean-Georges Vongerichten was opening a new restaurant in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, caught the corner of my eye while clicking around dining websites. JGV in the UES? On the surface, it looks to be the perfect com
