Proximity + Flavor. This place is about three blocks from my house, which is the only reason I tried it instead of Yummy Yummy on Carrollton. YY has better reviews, but I really enjoy Ming Garden.
I'm writing this review because I've been ordering take-out from here for months, and I've seen some awful reviews for this place. I think it's important for me, as a frequent customer, to say some nice things.
Your food will be ready fast. You may not even be ready. You say to yourself, "I'm a bit peckish, I should order some Chinese." It's 6:30 and you're planning to eat at 7:00. Fool. You're a fool. You place the order, and they will tell you, "Okay, your food will be ready in 10 minutes." Now what are you going to do?! Eat early? Yes. You don't really have a choice because we all know crab rangoons don't keep well.
Speaking of crab rangoons, these here are DA BOMB (I'm bringing that back). Lyke, yes. I actually hate crab rangoons because I'm not a huge fan of cream cheese (I have a thing about ratios of cream cheese to crab to spices). My ratio is fully satisfied by Ming Garden. They get me, mane. *cries* They...understand my feelings like a brother or something. Their rangoons are also hilariously shaped, but it's quirky and I dig it.
So if you live close by and you want Chinese, just eat here. Why are you even on Urbanspoon about this? It's Chinese food. It doesn't take long to make, and it's not expensive. Worst case scenario you hate it and you blew $10. But you won't. If you do, your taste buds are bad and you should feel bad.
Good Take Out Chinese. Better than average take out chinese restaurant. Chicken With Eggplant , which is not offered my many of the chinese take out places here, was very good.

We decided to give it a try with a small party we were having and we were very pleased. The food is good, the people are sweet and the price was great.
The Chinese Take-Out You Have in Your Head!. We were quite pleasantly surprised by Ming Garden's delicious, well prepared traditional Chinese take-out convenient to Faubourg St. John and Mid-City. Best kept secret: delivery on $30 or more orders, came piping hot to our doorstep. Fried chicken was super crispy, Kung Pao chicken ordered extra spicy actually came that way, fried rice and spare ribs excellent. Could eat here once a week!
Fast, fresh lunch. The food is always fresh. Try the Thai Chicken for coconut flavor. Lemon chicken is not too sweet, fried nicely. Orange chicken and rib tips are also good.
Try the Thai Shrimp. It is sooo delicious!
We ordered via a third-party delivery app from Ming Garden for the first time and were very pleased with portion sizes, and – most importantly – the quality of the ingredients.
The vegetables were colorful and fresh, as was everything else. We think the spring rolls might have been homemade; and the hot 'n' sour soup was as rich in flavor as it was silky smooth. I think that was the standout of the two other dishes we ordered: Kung Pao Chicken and Szechuan Chicken, which were both very good.
Despite getting held up by the infamous Bywater train, the food arrived piping hot and perfectly packaged. I believe we've got our new go-to for Chinese-Delivery delivery here.
The portions are amazing exclamation. Poi've already had two meals and will probably get a third out of what they sell you!
The dinners are well seasoned and flavourful. The hot and spicy soup is some of the best I have ever had
Always had great and inexpensive food from here! Tonight for the first time they missed an item, replaced it immediately and fast AND gave us free drinks; you can’t ask for better than that!
Just had my delivery and we got shrimp toast, TSO chicken w shrimp lo main. Foods excellent 😋 only think you need to work on is just put more shrimp in the egg rolls.
(Other than that yall are my new go to for delivery and going out!)
Man listen I don't even write reviews; however, if you're in New Orleans this is the Chinese food place you MUST stop at. Food was hot, fresh, and flavor was AWESOME!
Very solid neighborhood joint! Maybe not the most authentic, but as far as Chinese-American take-out goes, its great! Lots of flavor, actually spicy and always quick and reliable. Really love the staff, they are very sweet and you can tell they care about their restaurant.
Always hot, fresh, and delicious. Love their eggs rolls. Everything we’ve ordered here is good and consistent. On of our go-to’s for delivery and takeout.
The food is freshly made and very delicious. My personal favorite is their curry dishes and the Singapore mei fun.
Love the boneless chicken with a side of sweet sour sauce pull all over with🤤
Excellent taste and portions. (Sesame chicken pictured). Delicious !
