The oysters are so fresh and tasty. Paired with the red source is even tastier. The service is friendly and impeccable. Highly recommended. The bar also has happy hour from Sunday to Thursday 2pm to 5pm with raw oyster $1/each. Amazing deal!

We swung by during happy hour for $1 oyster and $5 draft beer. Happy hours are from 1pm-5pm only Sunday to Thursday. Otherwise the oyster is still cheap after happy hours. The oyster is fresh and taste amazing! Try their local beer Abita.

This was the first restaurant we ate at in New Orleans, and honestly probably the best!!!
I ate crab cakes a few times during our trip and nothing beat these!!!! I don’t care for oysters but I was told by my fam that they were also the best! I also loved the fried alligator.
You won’t be disappointed if you eat here!

Delicious, fresh food! Oysters were fresh, and the food was hot and flavorful! Giving 4 stars because we didn’t really like that our food came out at different times.
We wanted to all eat together, which the food coming out at different times just made the visit longer and time is of the essence when you only have 48 hours in New Orleans, so it made our visit longer than expected. But when the food did come out, each platter was hot and very flavorful so you know they were cooking everything fresh in the back. Staff was super friendly and tentative.

First dinner in New Orleans, just located in Bourbon Street. Went here during Saturday and the place was crowded, a good sign that the food is great that's why we lined up to try their menu.
We ordered the oysters, ribeye steak, jambalaya and the fried alligator crisps.
Should you want to experience dining here, better reserve ahead of time to avoid the long queue.

Great service, and absolutely delicious oysters. We really liked the charbroiled oysters, the charred flavor was awesome.

First meal in New Orleans and I must say it was off to a great start! The Char Grilled Rockin Oysters, To Desire for fries & The Swamp Daddy Sandwich was delicious!

Nice spot in the Sonesta Hotel. All the waiters were tired w an attitude. Rushing us to get plates off table. Food was ok. Got the shrimp po boy and ordered xtra shrimp. The xtra shrimp were better and bigger than little shrimp on po boy. Smh

$1 oysters for happy hour 2-5pm. However they are raw only not grilled. Pretty good place to escape the heat, right in the heart of bourbon street.

The Desire Oysters Bar is more than just an oyster bar. They have a full range of local offerings from red beans and rice to shrimp poboys snd a full bar as well. We find the restaurant is nicely decorated, bright and lively. All of the food we have had is good and tasty. The service can vary greatly, sometimes good and other times not so good. Service is always friendly just not attentive at times.
