Checkpoint Charlies

While not cold-war Berlin, this place certainly designates leaving one sector and entering another. If it Twilight Zone had an amusement park, you'd pass through the doors of checkpoints to get in line. After living in this neighborhood for 20 years, I can tell you that it is always interesting at checkpoints. Also I do believe that this is this place where the song, Your erection is not my problem" debuted sometime in mid-December 2023. One famous critic said about that song, "I find it difficult but not impossible..."

A raised game room that can look down to a sunken barroom. Very spacious. Ran into one guy who grew up 45 minutes from me in Upstate New York, then two girls from Romania. You never know where friendly chi chat can head. Ordered some wings to tie us over and they were cooked crisp like we asked. Not real busy, but a good time.

This is a staple in New Orleans bar scene. I wish that the place was ran a bit different. And I'm not saying that I know better, I just remember checkpoints being a safe haven for travelers and musicians and tourists all the same, no matter what, and I honestly have to say that sometimes, it doesn't feel like that anymore

Definitely a must-see, must-stop, must- drink, must-experience destination while visiting NOLA. Situated on the cusp of French Quarter & The Marigny, this venue exudes the epitome of friendly & welcoming vibe you wish for from the locals. Ice cold beer with a nice draught selection, & cocktails. Clean restrooms. & a laundromat, to boot! Our server was super friendly, even offered us a shot of a new product they were trying out! Our tender had a fabulous guitar & playing some cool tunes! Will recommend to everyone & definitely plan to visit every time I am in the area!
